R.I.P. "Boats and Hoes PAC," a Texas Republican's Ill-Advised Tribute to Will Ferrell

Categories: Politics

StepBrothersBoatsHoes.JPG
Remember how in the 2008 comedy Step Brothers Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly try to launch an entertainment empire with an absurdly misogynistic rap video? And how it ends in disaster when they wreck the boat they were filming on?

That's a pretty good metaphor for what happened when a GOP consultant borrowed the music video's intentionally offensive title -- "Boats and Hoes" -- for his new Texas Political Action Committee. The PAC was dissolved within hours of the San Antonio Express-News and Texas Tribune, among others, learning of its existence.

The organization was established on April 1 by Shaun Nowacki. Nowacki is a bookkeeper for the Houston-based political consultancy of Allen Blakemore, who has close ties with Attorney General Greg Abbott and probable Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick.

There's almost no conceivable way that Blakemore, much less his high-powered GOP clients, was dumb enough to have anything to do with the PAC, which seems custom-made to fuel the Democrat narrative that Republicans are waging war on women.

Here are some sample "Boats and Hoes" lyrics:

The Nina, the Pinta, the Santa Maria, I'll do you in the bottom while you're drinking Sangria.
I'm a pussy pirate my name is Jack Sparrow, take off my pants so you can see my flesh arrow.
Make sure to wax, use your mom's Nair, you'll be amazed when I cum in your hair!

And here's the full music video:

Amazing that a political professional would tether their party to an intentionally vile parody song, but not quite as amazing as the fact that, judging by Texas Tribune article on the controversy, Nowacki still has his job.

Send your story tips to the author, Eric Nicholson.

Just a wee bit too inside baseball for me.

and DEFINITELY lost in translation should the Democrats ever try and splain the "outrage" to their constituency.

In fact, I'd pay money to watch the Left explain the joke to its mouthbreathers.

John C. Reilly is a great character actor.  He has an awesome show on Adult Swim called Check It Out with Dr. Steve Brule which is a tribute to those good/bad cable access shows in the 80's.

First glance I thought it was misspelled firemen PAC. Boots and hose.

As Jerry Seinfeld advises, leave comedy to the professionals.  Why do people keep trying to be funny when most people aren't?  Being in charge of marketing does not automatically give you wit.

Can't remember who it was, but I remember an FM radio DJ playing Freddie Mercury's Another One Bites the Dust On 11/24/91.

The difference of course being that while "Boats 'n' Hoes" is obviously a joke, rappers who routinely spew the most vile misogynist lyrics are welcomed at the White House.  Yet it is the former that is used as ammunition in a "war on women," at least according to some commentators.

Wow, huge mistake.

And the dude didn't even have the class to resign like Democrats Kathleen Sebelius, Joseph Grant, Lois Lerner and four US State Dept. Officials over silly manufactured scandals.

Something to do with the war on woman theme? With O and the crew lame-ducking, the stage has to be set to deflect criticism of Hillary. That's the joke.

For the record, I urged dems to vote for her, simply because any gal who would let her man cat around freely with no consequence is my kind 'o gal! Hard to find women of such caliber and free spirit.

@TheRuddSki aaaaah but for which rock great?  One would think it was in honor of Freddie Mercury, but Eric Carr also died that day.

And, while the armed and dangerous BLM goes after a rancher who owes a few thousand in grazing fees, the president parties with Al Sharpton, who owes over a million to the IRS, among other mis-steps.

The Left sees what's coming and it makes them mad, so they act out.  War on women, domestic terrorists, Republicans are racists, etc.

The Republican horse fell down in 2008 and they found themselves in power.  Instead of tackling the economy so they could have their screwball socialist dogma, they got drunk on mo free money and unilaterally jammed in universal healthcare.

They were immediately put out of the House at the mid-terms and will be kicked out of the Senate in November.  And they see what's coming in the next Presidential election and they are going postal.  Doubling down with the invective because that's all they got.  Political terrorism.  Dead-enders with a press corps.  Baghdad Bobs.

All Pelosi had to do was to accept a little tort reform in the ACA and it would have had a few Republicans on board for a bit of legitimacy and cover.  But noooooooo.

Liberals know the battle is lost when they are down to women and children.

So like the dead-enders they are, they just take 'em hostage.

A few thousand dollars? You are way off base on that. Even Bundy says he owes $300,000 while the BLM claims $1 million.

Go ahead, carry on with your daily distortion of the facts.

Well, since the President recently invoked one of his most favored Democrats of convenience last week, so will I:

“I do not believe that this generation of Americans is willing to resign itself to going to bed each night by the light of a Communist moon”. - LBJ.

Our rednecks and whip their rednecks.

I agree in principle with much of what you say. However, my dismay over the Cult of Obama - in which the cult followers are more of a danger than the cult figure - has me considering some rather dour and dire possibilities. The opposite of getting cocky.

I certainly hope, for the future of the republic that you, not I, are more correct.

*chuckle* Really?

Nothing could be further from the truth - I couldn't be happier. I've learned to be equally dissatisfied with each of the parties, and my life since that moment has been free from concern about who is right, who is wrong and which party is doing the most damage to our republic. I've declared it a tie and happily live my life accordingly.

Reid will be out of that blocking slot and he activated the nuclear option.  Hearings with subpoena power can be run on Executive over-reach and the Prez and the bleeding can be stanched.  12 times Reid has tabled economic bills passed by the House (2 bi-partisan) to save the nation from financial collapse and if we do not act, events will overtake us all.

I do not think Hillary will run.  That SecState job scared the shit out of her and she's worn out. She's "tard".

Besides, she can be dealt with.  She's a Liberal but she's not a full bore Leftist and there is a difference.

And if we've crossed the Rubicon on being outnumbered (wealth and INcome transfer), then we need to know it now.  But it doesn't matter since 86 million cannot support 186 million no matter how much can kicking our vaunted statesmen engage in.  It usurps the Law of Self-Interest (de facto Human Bondage).

It's still the same old story. Collectivism does not work.  Financial ruin with a subsequent social upheaval is nature's way of telling us something's wrong.

After all, the old Soviet Union made it through the other side.

so can we.

@holmantx

I see maybe republicans gaining the Senate, but what does it matter when the Executive grants itself such power? Sure, they can bitch and moan, but it won't do any good because no-one will hear them.

And Hillary is a guaranteed shoe-in. Don't let her negatives fool you, democrats will vote for her no matter how they feel about her personally, or even if they see her performance in the public sector as unremarkable, even dismal. The object is to Win, not govern.

And who will the repubs run? We see Bush, Rubio, Cruz, Walker so far. Bush is a Bush and pro-amnesty, Rubio is pro-amnesty, Cruz - even though he's much smarter and less of a radical than Obama - will be portrayed as a dangerous and evil ideologue. Scott Walker whom I like and who has done quite well while under tremendous assault by the anti-democracy thugocracy heavily supported by the Obama Machine (and vice-versa), has no college degree. Low-information voters don't trust people they see as potentially dumb as they are.

And, the ace up the sleeve, amnesty will be granted to tens of millions of New Democrats, one way or another. That means effectively the political merging of Mexico and the US, and another wave of Latino immigrants larger than the last.

And at that point, unless Republicans become statist socialists pandering to net-tax-recipients, they'll never see the White House again. Their victories will be only at the state level, and of those victories, none will be by members of SPLC-designated hate groups, like churches who have not signed off on leftist demands.

I'd agree, if the Left weren't in power and losing it.

And throwing misogynist, racism hand grenades on the way out the door.

And the grumbling is the constant drumbeat by the Press, as typifed by every post the D.O. throws up.

Now THAT is organized grumbling on a grand scale.

Mine is but a reaction to it.
