Accused Kaufman Killer Eric Williams Loses His Law License -- For Stealing Computer Monitors

It's impossible to overstate the heinousness of the crimes Eric Lyle Williams is accused of.

Prosecutors say the 45-year-old carried out a cold-blooded hit on Kaufman County Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse as he walked through a courthouse parking lot one morning last January. Two months later, on the day before Easter, he allegedly murdered District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife, Cynthia, leaving their bullet-riddled bodies on the floor of their home.

But that's not what prompted the State Bar of Texas to yank Williams' law license last month. According to a just-released list of the organization's disciplinary actions, the former Kaufman County justice of the peace was disbarred February 3 for stealing a couple of computer monitors.

Multiple counts of capital murder would, of course, provide equally legitimate grounds to strip Williams of his ability to practice law, but he hasn't been convicted, and his trial is still months off. On the computer-monitor theft, on the other hand, he's already been found guilty on one count of burglary and one of theft by a public servant.

The verdict was handed down in April 2012, but the State Bar held off on disbarment pending Williams' ill-fated appeal.

It's fitting, in a way, that the fate of Williams' law license would rest on his comparatively minor theft case since it's the same case investigators speculate motivated Williams to seek revenge on Hasse and the McLellands.

Now that's low - stripping a cold blooded murderer of his law license !! Usually those go hand in hand! Actually, what is needed here is a public hanging of this guy - a few lawyers too!!

Murder is inexcusable and there's no justifying his actions and those of his wife. But, this guy was driven to this madness by corrupt, small town politics as bvckvs mentioned below. He was NOT stealing monitors, he was relocating them out of necessity due to budget shortages. He was bullied and set up prior to going off the deep end.

A grown man bullied into double murder. Somehow, I think his flaw would have surfaced sooner or later.

Like maybe someone texting in a theatre, cut off in traffic. Kids torturing him with pranks.

Maybe ramming a tow truck due to a grudge against the tow company.

Nope, not buying it.

Hmmmm. Bucky sure let his tongue run on this one. But I must agree with him that that DA office has a Boss Hogg stench on it. To say they got justice might be harsh, but they sure needed a real airing of the small town small mind crapola. Let it all come out at trial.

What do you two suggest for justice when the people in charge of justice abuse their authority? And how to make it happen?

The Republican was probably tired, as he likely came from a job where he worked all day to pay the taxes that support the Democrat's lifestyle and bastard spawn (or abortions).

Apparently, for some, the answer to creeping Republicanism and the dangers of the two party system is some form of anarchy. Generally, such people are coming from a feeling of inadequacy and cowardice, like growling chihuahuas. Stamp your foot, they yelp and scatter.

But, sometimes, those who urge such are the first to go. Abandon the rule of law because of personal animosity, and you'll find it works both ways, then who ya gonna call?

Again bucky, too broad a sweep. Tone it down.

Can you seriously posit a difference between Democrats and Republicans?

Look at it this way. Our '2 parties' are actually just 2 factions of the ruling family, and we are the serfs funding their plunder.

@bvckvs Well if we followed your twisted logic how many Democrat officials would deserve wacking in Dallas or Dallas County?  Heck the repeated documented shenanigans of many of the power players in Dallas are far worse than the Kaufman stench.  I don't see any justification for someone to play judge, jury and executioner.

Bvckvs

It appears you're excusing justifying double homicide because "Republicans".

How is your hatred different than what you describe?
