The Mother of a Man Who Shot a Dallas Cop Arrested for Threatening to Shoot Dallas Cops

Rewind for a moment to the morning of April 15, 2013. Tyrone Allen, 26, allegedly murders his pregnant girlfriend in Hamilton Park, then leads police on a wild 40-minute chase that ends about a block from where it began. He's finally pulled from beneath a house and arrested after a several-hour standoff, but not before police say he shoots Officer Daniel Malouf in the abdomen.

It's a horrible set of circumstances, the type of case that inevitably leads non-sociopaths to wonder: Where does evil like this come from?

In this instance, we have an answer. It came from Paula Jean Allen.

Allen, who was arrested Sunday evening at an apartment complex in the 13030 block of Audelia Road, is Tyrone's mother, or at least appears to be. (Dallas PD's report from last night doesn't explicitly identify Tyrone as her son, just that she has a son who shot an officer about a year ago. Far as we can tell, Malouf was the only officer shot around that time frame.)

Initially, officers took Paula Allen into custody on a charge of aggravated assault. According to police documents, she'd been on the phone having an argument with a 28-year-old woman over taxes. Allen told the woman to come to her apartment, presumably so they could talk in person. When she arrived, Allen was holding a kitchen knife.

The woman's hand was bleeding by the time police showed up to arrest Allen, though she wasn't sure whether she'd been cut by the knife or the window she'd accidentally punched while trying to defend herself.

By the time Allen, 48, was booked into Lew Sterrett, three counts of retaliation had been added to the aggravated assault charge. The reason is that Allen allegedly kicked the squad car and hurled insults and death threats at the three cops who arrested her all the way to jail.

One of them she kept calling a "dumb redneck." All three were the target of, variously: "I am going to kill you and your family"; "I hope you and your family die"; "I hope you die tonight"; "I hope you crash your car and wreck"; "I'll do anything. I have nothing to lose"; and "My son shot one of you before."

Given the family history, the police report says officers believed she might make good on the threats.

Poster children for the pro-abortion crowd.

The world would have been a better place without both of them.

The son takes after his mother.  He has her eyes.  He also has her earrings.

Wow, they arrested her all the way to jail?

Also, you can't tell that those two fine, upstanding citizens are related?

Apple/tree. Poor kid, did he ever really have a chance? I think we can assume Dad was never really part of the picture (can you blame him?)

For a better start of the day, Google Temar Boggs.

@ruddski  A link to a 10 year old blog piece by an Islam-hating Australian with photos of a few kooks?  Are you for real?

@ruddski  Sometimes the dad isn't in the picture, sometimes he is. I had a family renting the house next to mine that appears to be just as bad as this, and the father was there. Everyone but the mom was arrested at one time or another for shoplifting or breaking into people's homes. The mom would sometimes be yelling at the top of her lungs "I hate the ****ing police!"

My wife made the comment to me that, if her family didn't insist on constantly stealing from people they wouldn't have to deal with the police.

He's not a "poor kid" in the sense you're saying... Maybe financially. But they don't teach that stuff in school. Yes, he went to school... He saw how normal people act for good hunk of his life. He chose to veer from that path and chase the murderous thug life. Whether his mom was nuts or not, he decided to be a detriment to society. He chose his path. He knew better. Rationalizing his actions and basically summing him up as a victim of his mothers upbringing, is about as pathetic an angle one could take.

No hon, I'm a figment of your fevered imagination, the imagination that posted a bunch of of propaganda from over a decade ago.

Btw, when an American, such as my son, risks his life over the span of half a decade, protecting Muslims from Muslims - specifically liberal Muslims from ultra-conservative Muslims, would you, in your haughty ignorance, consider him "anti-Muslim", or would you consider him as promoting "liberal western values"?

From your announced support for the most homophobic, anti-women's rights regimes of modern times, I think we can assume that you are, in fact, so ideologically confused that the question left your head spinning.

Semper fi, asshole.

I'd bet my entire months pay that daddy is either unknown, gone long ago, incarcerated or dead.

@JMumf

I get the feeling you're not very familiar with either raising kids, or mentoring kids.

Sure, kids veer from proper paths, but it's painfully obvious this kid was never shown any sort of proper path. Chances are his mother was raised the same way.

Every kid I've ever dealt with that went the wrong way had pure shit for parents, every single time. With over 70% single parent household in the black community, do you think it's going to get better? Do you think that the solution is to give proved morons even more control?

You can't expect the State, and especially the Welfare State that LBJ blessed us with to take the place of family, and this kids dad, essentially, was the paternalistic, misguided science-denying liberal democrats of the sixties.

Own it, lefties.

@JMumf Interesting that you chose a picture of yourself holding a gun so that it looks like a penis extension.  It says just about everything we need to know about your expertise in psychology.

I'm guessing that they are on some form of family assistance. I'm further guessing that the tax argument involved the EITC, or that someone was waiting on someone else to get some form of tax return to pay a debt.

Or, maybe the woman is a tea party republican fuming over corporate tax rates.

@ruddski  What makes you so sure these people are on welfare? The article says something about a tax dispute. That would suggest employment of some kind.

@Daniel

I didn't set out to make the case that they should starve in the gutter, I'm just pointing out that if it weren't for the creation of the welfare state by arrogant, condescending modern slavemasters, these people, in their present incarnation, may not exist.

But now that we see how damaging this situation is, were told that the only people who can solve it are the same people who created it.

In the private sector/real world, this is known as "insanity".

@ruddski  Ruddski, you're right that the state can't replace family and community. But you've failed to make the case that this fucked-up fragment of a family would have been better off starving and homeless.

More canned BS, Myrna. I take it you don't want to discuss the horrible things visited on the black community by the welfare state. Bet you even deny the science.

Believe me hon, I've experienced a LOT more than you in all those regards. Even my liberal (the good, smart, non-statist kind of yore), Duke-trained psychologist mom predicted exactly what has happened, way back when.

I have little tolerance for ignorance.

@ruddski  And we both know that the alternative to LBJ was the far-right, nuke happy Barry Goldwater, from the infamous state of Arizona.  So, then if we could reset history and the Republican extremist became President, where would we be today?  I'd say we'd either be gone, by way of a nuclear holocaust or, given the nazi-like character of today's Arizona legislature, have a totalitarian state where Jews, Blacks, Gays, and countless groups considered "Others" no longer exist.
