George W. Bush Painted a Christmas Ornament, and It's Delightful
Behold, the George W. Bush Presidential Center 2013 Christmas Ornament, the perfect way to fill that bare spot on your Christmas tree and the only holiday decoration, probably ever, to be painted by a former leader of the free world.
Dubya first painted the cardinal as a gift for former U.N. Ambassador Warren Tichenor, but it was immediately apparent that the work was so masterful that it just wouldn't do to only have it on some diplomat's wall, shielded from public view.
"Laura liked the bright red on the cardinal and the greens of the foliage and, uh, chose my painting, for which I'm grateful, to become a Christmas card and ornament," Bush says in a video greeting. "I'm flattered."
He'll be even more flattered if you buy one. They're on sale through the presidential center's gift shop for the low, low price of $29.98.
And how can one resist, what with Bush's rock-solid confidence in his artistic ability: "I hope my painting meets expectations."
Take it away, George and Laura:
