Cornyn: Under Democrats, Texas Will Become Dystopian Failed State

Categories: Politics

So far, the turn-Texas-blue group Battleground Texas' primary public function has been to serve as a Kim Jong-un-like bogeyman for Republican politicians to campaign against. Leave it to U.S. Senator John Cornyn, desperately trying to convince us that he's just as crazy as junior colleague Ted Cruz, to take this conceit to its logical conclusion. In his new campaign ad, he offers a dystopian vision of an all-but-failed state that emerges as soon as Democrats gain a foothold in state government.

Cornyn's vision has only one flaw: He leaves out the zombies.

If anybody out there cares about saving the Constitutional Republic and the Bill of Rights then we need at least 60 Ted Cruz-Like senators and 216 Ron Paul-Like house reps.

Since he voted to fund Obamacare, Cornyn is toast in the primary.

We're all voting for Erick Wyatt: http://www.erickwyatt.com/ who will be out next senator from Texas.

We'll turn the country around in a year or less, providing that we don't elect anymore Bushes or Clintons to the White House...cheers!

Well, nobody knows more about failure than Cornyn.

If Cruz is Joe McCarthy in short pants, then Cornyn is Roy Cohn without the IQ and in clown boxers.

Eric Nicholson is a naive (or disingenuous) white-guilt-ridden "progressive" libtard propagandist who has never denied that he rapes babies to death and then eats them in tacos. Prediction: leftist leadership will bring Texas to the conditions of Chicago and Detroit. Actually, it will be more like a combination of Mexico and Africa, and if you think that is a good thing then you aren't nearly as well-informed and enlightened as you naively believe you are.

And the Dallas Observer desperately evolves into an all-but-failed rag that emerges from ignoring specific issues (higher taxes, higher unemployment) in order to feed its zombie readers.

Ah, John Cornyn. To steal Laura Miller's comments about Steve Bartlett, you can't call him a weasel because a weasel has a spine. At least he now has the position he always wanted: the back segment of a human centipede with Ted Cruz.

Why would democrats want to control the miserable state? As Catwoman points out, Texas is a horrible shithole of unending misery and it's too late to even try to reverse the rush to the bottom. Let them eat menudo.

Yeah, it' be horrible to be more like California. Just horrible. Thanks John Cornyn, for making sure our Texas disfunctionalism is ideologically-correct.

Last in healthcare.  Last in education.  Last in environmental protection.  Last in workers' rights.  Last in women's rights.   First in poverty.  Texas is already a dystopian failed state under the republicans.

@Catbird AMEN!  Nice to see other conservatives that are disgusted with Cornyn's RINO performances!

@Catbird Hehe ... I'm always entertained when low-information blowhards like you post.

Please keep it going ...

@primi_timpano The fastest way to cut off Cruz's dangling and bleeding hemorrhoids in one move is to kick Cornyn in the chin.

@dingo Yes, Texas politicians with a D in front of their names have been clamoring for a state income tax for years now. A deafening roar, you might say, but thank God Republicans still rule our miraculous state. Under Republican rule, we have some of the lowest property & sales tax rates in the entire nation. Also, as the clip touches upon, if Democrats win, it will be expensive to live here, like in California or New York. The main reason those places are expensive is because Democrats. How could the Observer editors be such blind tools as not to report this?

More perspicacity, Mr. Dingo, more!

@Myrna.Minkoff-Katz Who needs women's rights when we have the friendliest people and the prettiest women you've ever seen?

@Myrna.Minkoff-Katz And I presume your personal litmus test as to what constitutes worker's and women's rights is the correct yard stick for all? Please go back to the troll pen.

What's worse, it's a dog state.

If you think that ANYTHING will improve as the result of Texas' white population decreasing and the black and "Latino" populations increasing, then you are EXTREMELY NAIVE.

@Daniel @dingo sorry to be so literal, but officially, Texas is a "moderate to high" tax state.  Yet, we don't have roads, lakes, or the infrastructure we need to be a business friendly state.  We're already the dysfunctional state that Cornyn warns about

Poverty: Not last. http://tinyurl.com/ma6bq85

Ok I guess you can claim a moral vistory here Phelps, we are in fact  not  the state with the most Poverty, just the 9th state in the Union  with the most Poverty.   Something to be proud?

She was not lying Phelps

Texas ranks absolute last for CO2 emissions from fossil fuel combustion, having produced over 670 million metric tons of CO2 in a single year.  The second highest amount is produced by California, however that state produced just under 400 million metric tons, a significantly smaller amount.

@epicmale @scottindallas @Daniel @dingo They flock here because Perry and his goons will bend over backwards (tax incentives out the wazoo) to bring in anyone with low-wage jobs, which is where Texas excels. On the other hand, businesses with higher salary positions hesitate to come here because the dismal educational standards tell the story of a shrinking talent pool that must be supplemented by importing out of state talent.

@scottindallas @Daniel @dingo Yeah, Scott, that explains why businesses are flocking to Texas.  LOL...  But keep chanting the progressive mantra.  Maybe you can change reality.

@ebailey75057 Libs keep moving the bar on poverty.  No one in Texas is a Biafran infant with a bloated stomach and flies crawling over its eyeballs.  Nope, in Texas 'poverty' is someone without a cell phone, big screen TV, just one car, or can't afford to go to Six Flags every month.  Why this dichotomy?  Simple, liberals have to paint a dire picture to get control of others and 'improve' their lives.  That's why obamascare dictates 'home visits' for all categories that they deem 'at risk'.  Let's educate the kids and make them expect moment by moment life monitoring by the government.

@ebailey75057 Texas: Not Last!

In fact, we're FIRST in executions. Tell THAT to your liberal communist tyrannical fascist-run states like Vermont.

@everlastingphelps @ebailey75057 Let us not forget that Texas also produces a huge amount of energy for other states.  Half of yankeeland would freeze to death in the winter if not for Texas.

@everlastingphelps @ebailey75057

no, the statistics are NOT a "lie", they are factual.

you wish to look at them by a different measure, by pop, but that doesn't make the raw numbers inaccurate nor a deception.

if you wish to look at the numbers by pop, why is Texas around 25 tons/person, while other high pop states such as California, New York and Florida less than half of what Texas produces?
