Esquire: The Right Hates Obama Like Dallas Hated JFK

JFKTreasonFlier.jpg
Dallas will never be able to completely escape blame for killing JFK. There's simply too much documentation of how reactionary hate-mongering gripped the city.

Esquire's Charlie Pierce dredged up one of those documents yesterday, a leaflet distributed in the streets of Dallas on the day of the assassination. Except that Pierce presents it not as an anti-Kennedy screed but as a "handbill distributed at a major American city in advance of the arrival of the president."

See also: JFK 50th Anniversary Will Be Hell in a Handbasket. Goody.

Stripping away all the period-specific references (the Berlin Wall, communist registration laws, etc.), he goes through the flier point by point, offering asides like "Contrary to what you might think, this was not Rep. Michelle Bachmann, talking about the UN plot to take away all our guns" and "Contrary to what you might think, this is not Rick Perry, bloviating on the 10th Amendment."

By the time he gets around to mentioning that it was handed out in Dallas on November 22, 1963, his point is clear. Just in case it's not, he adds this:

"Too many people out there lighting too many fuses. Just sayin."

Face it Kennedy got killed there and then the Dallas Police allowed Oswald to be killed the COP should have taking those bullets

The point of Pierce's piece is not that Dallas killed Kennedy, the point is rather than fringe nutjobs putting out inane leaflets identifying supposed Constitutional violations by the President as was done in 1963, today we have members of Congress and mainstream commentators echoing these same type of things about Obama.

There was nothing like this with Congress and Kennedy.

It seems that extremist ideology has taken root in the opposition, openly vocalized, and this is a very destructive path for our nation.

Why don't the DO writers take a little time to pepper these Facebook people's comments section with lots of inane, meaningless one-liners and such? Or even better, cut their access, and your pages will load faster.

McCain is a senile and dangerous old man.  War is his game.  America is sick of that game.

If Kennedy was killed by a leftist in San Francisco, the propagandists would find a way to blame it on the right.

@mavdog As I recall, The Dallas Morning News also ran that treason riff in a full page ad. No amount of pocket parks can cover up the stench of that rag.

@mavdog Which extremist ideology are we talking about? The ideology in the leaflet? The ideology of Oswald who tried to kill a man, Edwin Walker, who closely aligned with the leaflet ideology?

The closely guarded ideology of Lois Lerner of whom we have yet to receive a single email from the IRS concerning her 'non-political' official activities? The man Obama replaced at the top of the IRS can't provide any (as in not a single one) of the emails of the central figure in the investigation because he was busy 'prioritizing evidence'?

I agree, a very destructive path.

@ruddski And yet here you are ruddski, day after day, week after week, faithful as an old dog waiting for some scrap to fall from the table. Why?

Good thing he's not President, or we might be getting ready to bomb Syria so he can prove he has a large penis! Thank Gaia we elected a Obama, eh? This is Myrna's day to troll.

Like mav, I miss the Bush years, when the opposition was reasoned aand had so much class. However, let us remember that, should President Obama choose to strike Libya without consent of Congress, then one of Americas greatest Constitutional scholars, Senator Obama, will have accused President Obama of violating said Constitution. And, if the President carries through with his bellicose threats towards a sovereign Muslim nation - that has never attacked us - then he risks call for Impeachment by his own Vice President, who has made his position on the matter quite clear.

When Myrna was an SDS operative, in order to force her alma mater to divest from war machine stocks, she occupied the janitor's office, leading to a decades of disillusionment and cat hoarding. This served her well, as in later life, she attained a position as a Top Commenter, much to our benefit.

It would be interesting to see exactly what you mean, maybe you could take a specific point - like the apparent contradictions between Senator and President Obammas shown above- and show me where I'm confused. I assume you are aware of his statement that was included in Rand Paul's resolution? Explain which Obama is/was right.

@mavdog @whocareswhatithink Not really, to folks who know how the US military operates.

The probability approaches 100% that we have already had CIA, SF, AF Combat Controllers, and various & sundry other special operations and/or operations preparations personnel put boots to Syrian soil.

We already do that sort of thing to countries we have an interest in, but no intention of invading or bombing.  For countries we are making noise like we might love them up with some JDAMs, it is a near certainty.

@ruddski Its like talking to dumb and dumber, you cant rationalize with stupid....there are people on here that really believe McCain is to be blamed for sending troops to Syria...Im not too sure when a senator took the position of "commander in chief" but apparently it has happened and we were not told about.....Maybe Holder did it when he was investigating himself

@mavdog @dingo Its just like everyone only blames for the thought os WMD's...even though snopes has confirmed these are real quotes.... but its only the 'right' side who are crazy, yet the 'left' never see anything wrong.

Wake up - if you cant see what is wrong with your side, you are just a stupid pawn that make the guys you vote for richer

Just got confused again, need help. I'm told that I'm here day after day week after week. That's not remotely factual, and the allegation is by a "top commenter"- a status denoting quantity. I OTOH, am highly unlikely to attain that which requires consistently strong record of attendance. These comments are so full if glaring contradictions and illogic, that maybe I should spend the effort here that you do, but I just don't have the time.

It's always ugly when a disciple discovers that their Chosen One is a fraud. The knee jerk reaction of small minds in such a situation is to make excuses for their Profit and project the blame on someone else.
