Activists Launch Foolproof Plot to Impeach Obama: Stand on Overpasses with Signs

Thumbnail image for OverpassesforObamasImpeachment.jpg
You heard it here first: The outrage that has been simmering on the right since President Obama's election in 2008 is about to boil over. It will make the claims that he's a crypto-Muslim communist bent on destroying America seem like trifling schoolyard taunts. It will make those early Tea Party rallies seem like -- well, actual tea parties. Here's a snippet from the official call to arms:

America is in its greatest time of peril in since the Founding Fathers bravely fought in the Revolutionary War. Lady Liberty is calling YOU to stand up, to speak out, to take to the streets and DEMAND that the corrupt tyrant be removed from the White House, and all of those who colluded with him in his crimes against the United States be held accountable to the full extent of the law, with the maximum sentences handed down upon them.

When you grow old, would you rather tell your grandchildren that you stood up for Freedom, or would you rather tell them you did nothing as America fell to the iron fisted grip of tyranny?

NOW is your chance to honor the sacrifices of the Founding Fathers, and do your part to preserve their dream of truth, justice and liberty for ALL!

The uprising begins this weekend, when activists will follow in the footsteps of their revolutionary forebears and stand on highway overpasses armed with "Impeach Obama" signs.

Seriously. There's a newly formed group called Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment. Its Texas chapter, which boasts at least one state legislator (The Woodlands Republican Steve Toth), is rallying the troops at 11 a.m. Saturday to overpasses along Central Expressway and Highway 121, with the epicenter on Park Lane.

But that's only the beginning, at least according to Texas chapter leader and self-described "New Age Patriot" David Dunn. He warns in an email that "[t]hese rallies are to continue until the POTUS is impeached."

In that case, they might want to bring some chairs.

Saw them on I-35 North outside of San Antonio, TX today. Proudly honked my horn and shot them the bird. Fools.

TurningTXBlue

I saw these fools in the 100+ degree heat hanging their pathetic signs on the overpass while people zipped by them at 70 mph. If you want your kind of backward thinking, go to San Antonio not here in Dallas. We might have conservatives out here but they are not idiots - they actually do know how the 3 branches of govt. actually works.

I love all these fools who hold up a sign "Remember Benghazi" can't even find Benghazi on a map. All the while they forget all the attacks that took place between 2000-2008. It is almost as if the 8 years do not exist in their collective memories. Keep bitching and moaning about the POTUS while everyone is moving ahead in this country you will be nothing but forgotten discards of history.

THE REAL CREATORS OF THE SUBURBS

( This paper is what I experienced while trapped in a large US city. BTW, Obama now wants to move "disadvantaged" folks into "better" areas. Since he's an expert on where rich Hollywood Jews live, he could "diversify" them with the L.A. homeless. He could also change Beverly Hills into Burka Hills! Is this the "change" Obama has promised?)

The suburbs are booming, but not fast enough. Yessir, you ghetto folks
in inner cities have started a good thing, but there are still lots of acres
outside the cities without any houses on them. So you've gotta move into
"untouched" city blocks and do the following:
Throw trash everywhere. You'll insure that your friends who pick up trash
and distribute free rat poison packets will keep their jobs. And folks can
predict the weather by the direction the trash is blowing!
Walk down the street. Better yet, rhythm down it. And when I say street
I don't mean sidewalk. Save sidewalks for your friends on cycles. Besides,
it's hard to fit many cursing, screaming, drinking, pot-smoking kids on a
sidewalk, and it's also hard to spot keys and other things left in cars when
 you're walking on a sidewalk!
When walking down a street, turn your head when you hear a car coming
and stare at the driver. For all you know, it might be one of your enemies
out to get you. On the other hand, it might be only your neighbor and all
that hateful staring might make him want to move out.
Be sure to beget lots of unloved, unsupervised, unwashed two-legged
"Obama welfare meal tickets" - either through wedlock or (preferably) out of
wedlock. And let them often ring doorbells, begging for money.
Turn quiet streets into noisy jungles. Have a blast - a
long blast with your car horn under your neighbor's window at
3:00 a.m. Let folks know who the real honkies are! Blow your horn when (1)
you see the police coming (2) you want to buy some dope (3) you want to sell
some dope (4) for any other reason. Play your stereo so loudly that folks can't
hear sirens going to the latest holdup or arson. Be noisy, man, noisy!
Be cruel to animals, especially "man's best friend." Tie your dog on a
short chain under a blazing sun with no water or food or love or license or
dog shots. Make him as mean as you are. Better yet, let your dog run loose.
Neighbors love to find freshly killed cats (after hearing their screams) and
other goodies on their lawns. Pit one dog against another in bloody "canine
cockfights" while friends lounge on car hoods and cheer and make bets! And
what madness is it where folks move out and abandon pets in the house,
leaving them nothing to eat but their own droppings? This happens often in the
ghetto, and almost no one will help the animals.
Keep a good supply of Saturday Night Specials - also Sunday, Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday Night Specials. Your criminal
presence will improve your neighbor's light bill; when he isn't watching you
at night (with his lights off), he will be able to read books at night by
the light of the police helicopter searchlights!
Here's more insanity: Uncle Sam spends millions of our tax money to
move you into our neighborhoods where we lose much when we sell our homes.
So you have your nerve when you glare and swear at us when we don't move
out quickly; but you're the reason we can't find good buyers! I really wonder
what you and Uncle Sam will do when lots of folks move to the wilderness and
live off the land and consequently don't have to pay taxes to support such
 sickness!
Finally, spread the rumor that all of your troubles are associated with
skin, even though you and I know that your problem isn't skin. It's sin!!!
What makes a ghetto? It's not the paint on a house (or lack of it) but all
of you two-legged pains in the neck!

 Can't Cover Up."

Oh, and for the record, I don't watch MSNBC or FoxNews. I have no idea what that has to do with anything. I was merely pointing out that everything that these people (the people referred to in the overpass article) have posted on their website is anti-Democrat/liberal.

Sorry, I thought you were making a point about how they *could be* liberal or whatever sort of political party, but instead you're just throwing a fit over semantics (or being aggressively stubborn, whichever). Point is these people would be considered by most to be conservative. Whether or not they are conservative by the book term or by your terms is pretty irrelevant to any and everything.

Someone needs to remind the OOI  that last November there was a national election...and...if only a few million more of these people  had moved  their Evangelical Tea party rear ends off of the sofa and voted for the Obama alternative, they would not have to be standing on overpasses  in 102 degree heat making fools of themselves.  But then some folks didn't like Mormons,etc.... very silly and impossible to please !

The President resides in Elysium.  There is no "impeachment" in Elysium.  Not even in the movie just out.  A review:

Blomkamp sets the dystopian juices flowing with images of future sprawling slums and urban ruin that one might initially take to be Mexico City or Sao Paulo but that are soon identified as belonging to Los Angeles in 2154. Most of the beleaguered inhabitants seem to speak Spanish and do menial labor if they do anything at all, while good health care is very difficult to come by.

By contrast, hovering far above Earth and appearing like a five-spoked wheel in the sky is Elysium, an enormous space station where the rich live in a stress-free country club environment enhanced by marvelous technology that can cure any ailment, meaning that life can theoretically go on indefinitely.

Dude, if McCarthy's description is accurate (I haven't seen the movie) that is not Los Angeles in the year 2154, that is Los Angeles today.

The only difference is that the "five-spoked wheel in the sky" called Elysium is really -- wait for it -- the Hollywood Hills.

While I have no doubt Blokamp and Damon snickered wildly as they went over the script (probably in the thousand-dollar-a-night Caligula Suite at the W on Sunset Boulevard), what these two left-wing rocket scientists probably missed is that their lofty metaphor (likely aimed at America and Republicans), isn't really a metaphor. The place in which they currently work, snicker, frolic, and make millions, is in fact Elysium.

If you want to experience "Elysium" today, just drive down Wilshire or Melrose. In just a couple of miles those famous boulevards turn from a gorgeous, mile-high, palm tree-lined gilded city where the Matt Damons shop, dine, exercise, enema, valet, facelift, chant, and enjoy the greatest healthcare in the world -- to shit-hole city: urban sprawl, graffiti, crime, filth, and grinding poverty.

But no matter where you are -- even if you're hip-deep in the homeless --  all you need do is look up and there it is; that bright, shiny, magic gated place known as Elysi-- er, the Hollywood Hills.

And that is not the worst of it. In a city that on paper should be a Liberal Utopia, if you want your life expectancy to drop 20 years, you need only find a place to live just a few miles from Hollywood -- a place known as east of the 101 and south of the 10.

But even from there, on a clear day (lol), you can see Elysium; and if you squint real hard, you can see the eternally young Matt, Ben, Jack, Brad, Meryl, Julia, and George sitting by shimmering pools, sipping drinks, and using million dollar bills to wipe away socialist tears borne of the horror show playing out below them.

Those are tears of laughter.

Today, Washington DC is Elysium.

The top ten richest counties in America are found around that glistening town built with trillions in borrowed money, and shielded by Homeland Security against the masses.

I don't really see how this is any different than all the movements from the Democrat side during the previous presidency.  What both sides fail to realize is there really is no difference between the two parties.  Each party makes whatever platitudes it must to its respective base in order to stay in power.  Neither side really cares all that much about what the vast majority of the country is going through or struggling with, as long as the status quo of power and wealth is maintained.  We won't see any meaningful change in our government until we start voting in independent party candidates in significant numbers.  Stand out there and get 3rd degree sunburn if you wish, it won't change a damn thing.

@balance3 What truth would that be?  That you are a complete hypocrite for fighting against Obama's 'tyrannical' reign of terror while celebrating George W. Bush's accomplishments such as stripping our freedoms away, paving the way for NSA wiretaps, getting our country into two unsuccessful wars, helping destroy the world economy, and oh so much more?

Oh, right.  You are the type of mongoloid that tows your party line, no matter what. Morals?  To hell with them! If Rush and co. say it's true, it must be.  How does it feel having no political beliefs of your own? How does it feel to be a puppet?

How does it feel holding signs in 100+ heat on overpasses in already Red towns? Frisco, McKinney, seriously?  You are preaching to the choir.  If you'd really like to change some viewpoints, you mongos should set up shop in West Dallas, Southern Oak Cliff, South Dallas, Pleasant Grove, Love Field, or Forest and 635. he's wrong of course about the "hollywood hypocrisy" in LA, those poor that nolte appears to be revolted by, even the "hip-deep of homeless", can now get affordable health insurance in CA. Anybody will have access to healthcare coverage by way of the insurance exchange, courtesy of the ACA.

nolte validates the underlying premise of Elysium, the seperate and unequal delivery of healthcare to the poor. great job!

@ruddskiLike Machiavelli, Leo Strauss claimed that only if the state is united by an external threat can political order be stable. Furthermore, if no real external threat exists then one would have to be manufactured, maintaining the citizens in total deception in order to perpetuate the desired state of constant conflict. President Bush and his neoconservative policy makers have repeatedly warned that the war on terrorism – that found its moral justification in the provocative 9-11 attacks – would be a perpetual, global war against the forces of chaos and disorder, necessitating the shredding of constitutional freedoms and the imposition of sweeping totalitarian control.  The Left now in control find this concept - appealing.

Low-grade war is a tool of domestic governance.

One of the great ironies of our time is that most Americans have no awareness that the two primary intellectual factions of the present-day American elites are both derivatives of 1960s-era Marxist radicalism. The intellectual leadership of the right-wing of the establishment is, of course, provided by the increasingly notorious neoconservatives. Lesser known is that the neocons were, in the 1960s, the same people who were then called the "state department socialists," that is, Marxist radicals, mostly followers of the maverick Trotskyite Max Schactman, who positioned themselves on the far left end of the Johnson-era Democratic Party. This was a branch of Marxism that supported the Cold War and even the war in Vietnam (largely on typical Trotskyite anti-Stalinist grounds) and, perhaps more significantly, moved sharply rightward following the takeover of the Democratic Party by New Left radicals during the McGovern period. That the Schactmanites began calling themselves "conservative" and working their way into the upper strata of the Republican Party and the broader array of institutions of the Right does not mean that they changed their ideas, but only their terminology and their tactics. As the career Schactmanite and founding father of neoconservatism Irving Kristol remarks: "Viewed in this way, one can say that the historical task and political purpose of neoconservatism would seem to be this: to convert the Republican party, and American conservatism in general, against their respective wills, into a new kind of conservative politics suitable to governing a modern democracy.

War is truly a racket now.

Yes that is true.  In the 50's and 60's it was the spectre of nuclear warfare with Soviet Russia.

After the communist government collapsed and the US bought a large amount of weapons grade plutonium from the former USSR, a new bogie needed to be found that has the ability to penetrate your life while at the same time being a low level threat that had no individual threat but a pervasive societal threat.

The airplanes being flown into the WTC towers, the attack on the USS Cole are nothing more than a replacement for the former proxy wars between the USA and the USSR in the 50's and 60's.

On Sunday, those U.S. lawmakers who had received intelligence briefings joined a parade of security experts and administration officials in warning of the seriousness of the threat, which emanates from a particularly dangerous and active Al Qaeda franchise in Yemen.

The Obama administration ordered the diplomatic posts closed and issued a rare global travel warning to Americans on Friday after U.S. intelligence agencies picked up communications among known terrorists.

Sen. Saxby Chambliss, the senior Republican on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, compared the intercepted “chatter” to data picked up before the Sept. 11 attacks.

“This is the most serious threat that I’ve seen in the last several years,” he told NBC’s Meet the Press.

President Obama celebrates his 52nd birthday Sunday, surrounded by family and friends at Camp David, Md.  Plays 7 hours of golf.
