Dallas is Getting Its Very Own Al Jazeera Bureau

Categories: Media

AlJazeeraLogo.jpg
Pretty much every serious national news organization has at least a skeletal presence in Dallas. The major networks, as well as CNN, the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and the Associated Press, all have a Dallas bureau. Partly it's that Dallas is a thriving commercial and cultural hub, partly it's that the city's centrally located in an increasingly important state.

And so, as Al Jazeera prepares for the launch of its American news service, it's only fitting that it would establish a presence here.

Dallas is one of a dozen cities so far where the network will open a bureau, Politico reported today. The others: New York, D.C., Miami, Nashville, Chicago, New Orleans, Detroit, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Seattle.

It's from those location that the network, founded and until recently owned by the Qatari government, will begin the Islamist takeover of the U.S. by offering objective, unbiased coverage of world events.

Al Jazeera has not yet leased property in Dallas, but we're praying that they set up shop right next to Glenn Beck. He'd be thrilled to have them as a neighbor. Simply thrilled.

I have no idea if AJ is open minded or not.

Here's what NPR does:

For a typical debate,

get one super liberal

one liberal moderator

and one neutral.

Then the extreme liberal argues with the neutral guy and the audience is supposed to land some place in the middle... which means on the left.

The liberal moderator then will step in, from time to time, to poo poo an idea or treat as a given many liberal assumptions, ex:  "...everyone knows that Bush was dumb and Gore was right, the question is, which is the best way given..."

It's disturbing how CNN and NPR behave like they are morally superior on topics where there is no general universal agreement.

For instance, the liberal who walks into a room of twenty and starts bad mouthing Republicans.

How on earth did the liberal know there was nobody who took the other side / view?

They didn't, they're just being rude.

I say the exact same thing, it's rude, if a conservative does it, if a religious person just starts talking as if we all believe in God, Jesus, etc.   I just wish the liberals understood that not only do they do it also, they do it rudely.  It's rude to call Republicans "racist", etc.  distasteful, rude, and probably wrong, just as it's probably wrong to say the same thing about most Liberals.

I hope that AJ will teach the Arab world that we should have a market place of ideas and there is a notion of 'the loyal opposition.'  Meaning, if the other side wins the election, don't murder their families, rather, spend the next few years making your arguments and rely on truth to bubble to the surface.  Be 'loyal', applaud, and win the next time around on the merit of your ideas, not by throwing stones at young women who dishonored your family by falling in love.

Attack the argument, not the person.

Does Rick "Ooops" Perry and Vonciel Hill know about this?  This cannot stand.

"Islamist takeover of the U.S. "

Eric Nicholson, you are a naive sack of  white-guilt-ridden shit.   You think you can mock reality away with your "libtard snark".

Over 1000 people have been killed by Islamist attacks worldwide just in the last two weeks.  Do you ever actually read the news?

What's it like to be such a naive fool?

I thought you were supposedly a so-called "journalist".

Are you really that naive or are you just pretending?

"Progressivism" is a mental disorder.  Asshole.

So your last sentence is "Attack the argument, not the person."

But your entire post is an ad hominem attack on what you perceive as "Liberals"

@tape_is_glue_and_bac

So, NPR is just like a mirror for FOX, then. Amirite?

Or, I suppose in your world, FOX was born to counter the NPR narrative, then?

Please be nice.

No personal attacks are needed.

Let the power of your arguments stand without being dragged down / confused with personal attack.   If you have a great point, then include a personal attack, it's hard to hear the good points.  On the other hand, if you have a great point, one way for me to bury it is to get you caught up in personal attacks so that your good points are buried.

Respectfully suggested.

My point is that fools like you and TheCredibleHulk are so naive that you are totally unaware of what is actually happening in the world, and that you are so incredibly stupid that you will actually attempt to compare car wrecks with terrorist attacks.

The fact that you have to ask me "what is your point", twice, only proves my point again. Thanks!

naivelibtardlamb

Thanks for proving my point with your asinine "libtard logic".

1. Cars are non-living objects. They have no volition or religion.

@naivelibtardlamb You are hyperfocused on one thing. For some, it's the environment, and for others it's child abuse. Obviously this is your crusade.

Let's take a quick poll of anyone that might happen to read this little exchange you and I are having.

Who sounds more desperate, here?

naivelibtardlamb
naivelibtardlamb

Why are you so desperate to deny or minimize the extreme amounts of daily (every single day) violence committed by Muslim jihadists?

TheCredibleHulk
TheCredibleHulk topcommenter

@naivelibtardlamb

In 100 years, there will still probably be more folks killed every day in their flying cars than are killed daily by terrorists.

It's a dangerous world, not for the faint of heart.

Deal.

naivelibtardlamb
naivelibtardlamb

Jesus fuckin Christ you prove my point with every stupid comment you make. What "our global jihad" do you mean? There is not one, "we" are not prosecuting any kind of jihad. We are fighting muslim jihadists. They aren't going away, either. Things won't have changed much in 25, 50, or even 100 years, barring some major technological breakthrough, we will still be fighting them then. You are extremely naive.

Thanks for proving once again what a naive moral relativist dipshit you are.

naivelibtardlamb
naivelibtardlamb

You don't like facts that make you look like a naive fool, obviously. You don't like my comments? Then complain to Eric Nicholson and tell him not to make dipshit "snarky libtard progressive journalist" jokes on the backs of the hundreds of thousands of victims of the global jihad of which he is either unaware of deliberately ignoring.

Either way, it just proves Eric Nicholson is, at minimum, a totally shitty "journalist".

@naivelibtardlamb

Oh did you want to have a rational, intelligent conversation about an Arab-owned media company opening a news bureau and what that says about our local and national societal dynamics?

Because I couldn't tell from your posts

Eric Nichloson shouldn't make his idiotic "snarky libtard" snarky snark-snark jokes about the worldwide Islamist totalitarian jihad that has killed thousands and thousands just this year alone.

Who knows, maybe he really is that naive and sheltered from reality.

naivelibtardlamb
naivelibtardlamb

Im not terrified. I'm just aware of the facts of reality, unlike you.

It must suck to be so Pollyannaish and naive like you.

Go jump in the lion cage at the zoo. Why not? There is a very low chance that you will actually be attacked. What are you soooooo afwaid of, chicken? Jump in the lion cage.

Oh yeah one more thing.

Car accidents are ACCIDENTS, not deliberately planned and executed attacks.

That is why car accidents are called ACCIDENTS.

FOOL.

naivelibtardlamb
naivelibtardlamb

My reply got cut off. Thanks AGAIN for proving my point with your asinine "libtard logic" AGAIN!

1. Cars are non-living objects. They have no volition or religion.

2. Cars did not set bombs or commit any religiously-motivated attacks in the last couple of weeks which have killed well over 1000 people total in Kenya, South Sudan, The Central African Republic, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Indonesia, Israel, Iraq, Nigeria, Somalia, Bahrain, Burma, Syria, Boston, and more... but Muslims did. Thanks for helping me prove my poInt, moron. Kiss your own ass.
