Police Want to Know How These Men Came to be Using Slain 79-Year-Old's Credit Card

It's hard to fathom why someone would murder a 79-year-old woman in the home she's lived in for 50 years, and do so in such a brutal manner that police have declined to so much as hint at her injuries. But police might be a step closer to finding out who.

On Tuesday evening, police released surveillance footage showing two "persons of interest" in the murder of Avanell Cowgill, whose body was found Saturday by officers conducting a welfare check. Specifically, DPD is interested in how the two men came to be in possession of Cowgill's credit cards.

The surveillance footage was cobbled together from multiple stores where the men were spotted using Cowgill's plastic. One, a white guy standing a bit over 6 feet and weighing about 250 pounds, "changes his appearance from one store to another and tries to avoid store security cameras," police say.

In one store, he's wearing a grey windbreaker, blue baseball cap with a "B" on the front, blue jeans and white shoes. In another, the "B" baseball cap is red, and he wears a brown hoody work jacket instead of the windbreakers.

The other man, also white, is smaller, about 5'8" and 160 lbs. He wears a red, yellow, black multi-color horizontal striped shirt. Both were seen driving an older model silver 4 door compact vehicle missing a back right hubcap.

So, call DPD homicide Detective Sayers at 214-671-3647 if any of that sounds familiar. Oak Farms Dairy is offering $10,000 and Crime Stoppers has put up $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the suspected murderers.

That was one hell of a camera angle at the entrance of the big box outlet they walked into .

Maybe a shake of the family tree will reveal someone who fits the profile of  drug user or con artist someone in money trouble capable of doing such a thing or knows another who is .

Not accusing but in today's extended family's there can be the  individual  who would raise questions in the family   if they visited an older relative .

"whose body was found Saturday by officers conducting a welfare."  A welfare check-up, "welfare call" a welfare SOMETHING.

When I heard about this my eyes teared up.  Look at that sweet old lady.  Who the hell would do that to her?
