Ted Nugent is Going to the State of the Union, Thanks to Texas Congressman Steve Stockman

To say that rocker/maniac Ted Nugent is not a fan of Barack Obama would be something of an understatement.

Take this quote, which he screamed to fans at a concert while brandishing a pair of machine guns: "Hey Obama, you might want to suck on one of these you punk," adding that the president is a "piece of shit."

Then there was the time he called the president a criminal, "the enemy," and compared him to a coyote pissing on the living room couch. "It's not the coyote's fault," he concludes. "It's your fault for not shooting him."

All of which is to say that the Nuge probably isn't at the top of Obama's -- or the Secret Service's -- preferred guest list for Tuesday's State of the Union speech.

Then again, neither is Houston Rep. Steve Stockman, who, within a month of taking office, compared Obama to Saddam Hussein, threatened to impeach him, and earned the honor, bestowed by Mother Jones, as the "nuttiest freshman in Congress."

Stockman was duly elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, so his spot is reserved. And he announced today that his guest in the House Chamber for the evening will be Nugent.

"I am excited to have a patriot like Ted Nugent joining me in the House Chamber to hear from President Obama," Stockman said in a press release. "After the Address I'm sure Ted will have plenty to say."

Please let an progressive, aggressive attend the State Of The Union with intentions to shut him down if need be.  Amen.  Thank You.

I wonder why whiteguiltwhatsisname isn't in here documenting for us all of the misogynistic things in Nugent's catalog of lyrics - like he does so diligently for rap music.

If Nugent was really a patriot, he would understand that President Obama is, to the best of this country's ability to identify it, the will of the People.  He is the elected leader and deserving of the respect that Office demands.  Speech like this, directed at the President, should be a source of shame, not glory.  I'm no fan of President Obama, but I respect the Office and would never tarnish myself by disrespecting the man in that Office.  Yet another reason, in a long list, to stay away from the Republican Party.  Go Third Parties!

So a properly documented and self admitted draft dodger, and known pedophile is a patriot to this country?

Really?

Wow.

Folks who look up to him must have pretty low standards.

Was Charlie Manson not available to give the Tea Party guest rebuttal?  Or perhaps the Unabomber?  Maybe even Ted Bundy?  Ted Nugent is a lightweight in the crazy department, it's all just a stage act.  He actually rescues kittens and works at a soup kitchen in his spare time.  They need somebody that's certifiably crazy to give the Tea Party some credibility.

No informed citizen takes entertainers seriously when they espouse their political views, right people? No matter which side your clown is on, you don't take him seriously, right? We aren't in the National Enquirer blogosphere, are we?

The Nugent filth is a traitor.  He's a step away from getting jailed for making terrorist threats.

People also seem to forget that Ted confessed to getting away with having sex with young girls during a 4-26-1998 episode of VH1's Behind The Music (source- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orz0zxH72K4 ) The narrator referred to it as "his weakness for young girls".  Ted is just another Roman Polanski, a celebrity that got away with raping underage girls. girls that were not old enough to consent.

What a great way for the Tea Party to lose funding from the GOP.

clearly Stockman is jealous of all the people making fun of Rick Perry's ineptitude and Stockman wants to show everyone that he can be as big an idiot as Perry.

maybe bigger, too close to call.

The same Ted that gave interviews way back in the day about faking sickness to dodge the draft. The same Ted that tried to marry a minor and couldnt so he and her parents signed papers to make him the girl's legal guardian. Stay classy, Ted.

I am a gun owner and have been since I got my first shotgun as a kid. As a gun owner I really wish Ted would stop making statements on my behalf.

Got'cha james... I'm just trying to get my view points across. And, obviously I'm pro-gun rights, and I'm not a fan of our current white house resident... Has anyone took the time to look into a history book? That is my main point.... What happens when the right to own guns is taken away...? Citizen round up's, and democide. And, before anyone says anything about my politcal views, I AM NOT A REPUBLICAN, OR A DEMOCRAT. I'm liberal/constitutional.

Ted is a pussy. The Secret Service put him in his place and all he has ever done is run his mouth.

wow, what a load of crock. Ted Kaczynski was an anarchist, he could as easily be viewed as far right as far left. the circle of political philosophy meets at the extremes.

as for Chris Dorner, just who is using the word "hero" to descibe him besides you? talk about a straw man argument....

as usual, keep up the good work!

@GuitarPlayer @ruddski Ruddski is probably not offensive enough to earn a "blank-fucker" sobriquet. Not that anyone appointed me referee.

And yes, Ted Nugent is a draft-dodging coward and wannabe traitor with neither the power nor the balls to merit serious scrutiny from the Secret Service. He's just another bombastic, two-bit attention whore with a high school education. Also, his music sucked ass (I'll admit I liked his guitar work with the Amboy Dukes some 1,500 years ago).

@bvckvs You mean like President Obama?  Sorry, couldn't resist, but Bush couldn't have hand-picked a successor who would have more faithfully carried on his policies.  President Obama is a better boost to Bush's legacy than Bush himself is.

By the way bucky, Colbath was spewing libertarian views, not Republican.  You might want to take off your blinders and see that there are more than two political identities in this country.
