Texas Radio Host Alex Jones Visits With Piers Morgan, Threatens Revolution to Combat Gun Control

Categories: Politics
Alex Jones, the Austin-based right-wing agitator, conspiracy theorist, radio host, and founder of Infowars, has been among those raising the cry for the U.S. to deport CNN host Piers Morgan.

He appeared on CNN last night for a tete-a-tete with Morgan and, as you can see from the video above, kind of went off. Real Clear Politics has a transcript of portions of the rant, which was centered on the by all indications imaginary prospect of the government seizing Americans' guns.

"Hitler took the guns, Stalin took the guns, Mao took the guns, Fidel Castro took the guns, Hugo Chavez took the guns, and I'm here to tell you, 1776 will commence again if you try to take our firearms," Jones said. "It doesn't matter how many lemmings you get out there in the street begging for them to have their guns taken. We will not relinquish them. Do you understand?"

When asked to address why gun deaths in the U.K., which has strict gun laws, are so low, Jones defended his point with a metaphorical kick to Morgan's groin. From RCP:

ALEX JONES: I already said earlier that England had lower gun crime rate because you took all the guns. But you have hordes of people burning down cities and beating old women's brains out out everyday. They arrest people in England if they defend themselves, that's on record. My God, you have a total police state. Everybody is fleeing the country because -- you've had to flee, bud. Yeah, you fled here. Why don't you go back and face the charges for the hacking scandal?

PIERS MORGAN: Answer this question. How many --

JONES: Why did you get fired from the Daily Mirror for putting out fake stories? You're a hatchet man of the New World Order. You're a hatchet man! And I'm going to say this here, you think you're a tough guy? Have me back with a boxing ring and I'll wear red, white, and blue, and you'll wear your Jolly Roger.

Yep, yet another brash-talking Texan hitting the national airwaves to showcase what our fine state has to offer.

I'm having a difficult time with the label "right-wing" being applied to Alex Jones. He's anti-Bush, anti-military, anti-drug wars...

Surely there's a better label?

Alex Jones is right wing?  I guess only when a liberal is in office.

General McChrystal has today joined the growing chorus of influential people calling for tight gun control.  One way to end gun violence is to prohibit the sale, importation, and manufacture of ammunition to all except our military and our law enforcement organizations.

Alex Jones is a walking argument against the First Amendment

It should tell you everything you need to know about Piers Morgan that he can be given a verbal beat down by an idiot like Alex Jones.

How to describe Alex Jones?

Childish. White. Paranoid. Conservative. Hate-filled. Nutjob.

One Alex Jones is worth more than all the "progressive advocacy journalists" (like that white-guilt wimp Eric Nicholson) combined.

Kind of odd that the left-wing kooks like Sculttz, Obermann, Krugman and such don't draw much outrage and yak traffic for their oddities, though it's not for a lack of trying. A chuckle, casual mention on some media watchdog site and they're forgotten, not much wringing of hands and angst.

I guess when you've got kooks like Obama, Reid and Pelosi to watch, the attention-seeking yappers don't get much attention.

Judging by the stunned reaction to diminished paychecks and drastic insurance cost increases of late,  it would appear that some folks would have been better served ignoring the Alex Jones of the world, and paying more attention to what your chosen masters aren't telling them.

1776 is a bad analogy. 1861 is more appropriate: A treasonous effort to subvert democracy and the rule of law with violence

How do you poor people stand the profound embarrassment? I'll bet your East coast friends no longer take your calls since you live in this state. Between Glenn beck and this guy, it's enough to drive a lib to Oklahoma.

Alex Jones is batshit crazy & Piers Morgan is a pompous dbag. Wish they'd both go away.

That was one of the most insane and paranoid interviews I've ever seen. That dude is either a media genius or absolutely insane.

I was reading some of the comments on a few of the british news sites about this incident...most agreed that a village was missing their idiot, which is Alex Jones, I tend to agree with them...

@Myrna.Minkoff-Katz And when you are done taking them from everyone but LEO, you will try to take them from LEO next right? We all know you hate cops.

@Myrna.Minkoff-Katz Looks like there's going to be a battle of the bands between the chorus of influential people calling for draconian measures, and the chorus of influential people against. None of them matter.

The only influential person you need concern yourself with is the man who holds the pen which signs Executive Orders - the Law of the Land. He and he alone will decide.

@shwhitley No.....he's an excellent argument for it.  What better way for someone to advertise the fact that they are, indeed, an idiot than by freely opening their mouth and proving it.  Proceed Alex.  LOL

@schutzenaivewhitegui I don't pay enough attention to him to know what he actually is, but I have seen footage of him attacking radical right-wing monster Michelle Malkin at some crowd event.
