A Cleburne Pastor Made an Unsettling Admission Yesterday that He Used to Do Porn

Claude Gilliland III

If there's one thing that pops into your head when you look at Claude Gilliland III, the new pastor at the New Heart Family Worship Center in Cleburne, it's probably something like "It's a shame to waste such a righteous mustache on somebody who would never ever be involved with porn."

You'd be wrong.

Gilliland's appointment as pastor at New Heart has been a flashpoint since it came to light that he's a registered sex offender who served four years in prison back in the 1990s for sexually assaulting his then-wife. He continues to deny that he did anything wrong but did admit on Sunday to other sins.

"Me and my ex-wife were in porn," he told WFAA (h/t Frontburner). "We were in the booze and the drugs."

He said as much during his sermon on Sunday. Thanks be to God that he didn't share any video. You can watch WFAA's story below.

Well, at least he wasn't anything really depraved, like a Wall Street banker or a politician.

Good for him, turning his life around. I hope the members of his congregation can live up to their lofty moral code, see their way clear to forgive him and allow him to spiritually guide their children.

I personally would prefer to keep my family far away from him, but that's just me.

In the booze and drugs & in the mood for love. Now that's my kind of pastor. Now that's Claude Gilliland III. (TM)

One will need to 'be in the booze and drugs' to some degree in order to eradicate the image of this man and his porn missus 'getting busy' from their mind.

Remember the good old days when preachers would just steal the church funds or fleece the rich old widow in the congregation?

Looks like he was at one time in a major DO customer demographic.

In the booze?

@GuitarPlayer Well, it's kinda like mud wrestling, except at a higher cost and not as gritty. But, I cannot say that I am surprised. After all, these days it is rare to find a religious leader who has any morals, ethics or scruples. THey are all in it for the money, and it appears that the pay is very good. Besides, god loves sinners.
