Watch Glenn Beck's Measured Reaction To Obama's Victory, Then Go Buy Farmland and Guns

Categories: Politics

The video above comes to us courtesy of Right Wing Watch, which watches Glenn Beck so you don't have to. In it, you'll see Beck, holding back tears, advising his listeners on what they should do now that Obama has been reelected.

We've posted a transcript of the clip after the jump, but we suggest you watch. It's a gem.

We don't have the luxury of time I've been telling you for a while and I've even told my own staff. If the president wins, I don't know how we survive. I don't know how we survive the regulation that is coming to my industry. I don't know how we're going to survive the pressure and the tactics, because they have more flexibility now, and they remember their enemies. I don't know how we're going to survive because I won't compromise. I won't make a deal with the devil.

I want you to understand this: Inflation is coming. The fiscal cliff is coming. The dollar fell last night. Your taxes are going up. Your healthcare costs are going up. Your religion is going to come under attack. Gas, coal, and energy is going to become more expensive.

Remember that list we put out a few months ago of "Do these things?" I will tell you, last week we purchased some more farmland as a family, and may I recommend that, if you have the chance to buy farmland, you buy farmland. If you live in the East, may I recommend get the hell out of the East. Find a place where you are surrounded by like-minded people, and the best way to find those people is you should probably look at the maps of how counties voted, and get away as far as you can from where huge densities of people are like "I just need FEMA to help me!"

And gets your kids away from those schools that are indoctrinating them that socialism is okay. May I highly suggest (Beck pauses here, apparently overcome by emotion) you get grandfathered in with the second amendment today. And don't forget the ammunition.

Deal with the issues first.  "The fiscal cliff is coming. The dollar fell last night. Your taxes are going up. Your healthcare costs are going up. Your religion is going to come under attack. Gas, coal, and energy is going to become more expensive."

True or false?  It doesn't matter what Beck does for a living.  Either it's true or it's false.

And when he says that costs are rising, he doesn't mean at the usual rate of inflation.

Taxes: Is the government spending more?  Are they spending more than they get in revenue?  Is that sustainable?  Is their credit going to run out?

What happens when the taxpayers get tired of carrying the non-taxpayers on their back?

Fiscal Cliff: Are increases in government spending ever going to stop?

Energy: Are prices rising due to increased taxes and environmental surcharges?  Are the surcharges realistic and effective in achieving their aim?  Are companies allowed to explore and develop new sources of oil & gas?  Can the oil be shipped to where it can be processed the most efficiently?

These are not Democratic vs Republican issues.

He sounded completely reasonable to me. Owning land and firearms are good things to do. Energy costs will most likely go up, as the President himself has stated. An education that teaches children to think for themselves and make their own conclusions based on evidence as well as provides skills to succeed in this high tech world is highly desirable, and may or may not be found in your local public schools.

Yep, calling for more division. Let's get all the conservatives and liberals on different sides so we can have a war. Is that what he wants? What a subhuman piece of garbage. I can't wait until the good lord calls him home.

I'm pretty sure when he started, Beck didn't believe any of his nonsense. He just knew he had to be the craziest voice on Fox to get attention, and by doing so he found an audience of mostly delusional shut-ins. I'm starting to think, though, that Beck may believe his own rhetoric now, despite the fact that reality doesn't match up. The thing about a doomsday prophet is that as long as he keeps claiming the end is still in the future by saying "It's coming" he'll never be proven wrong. What interesting advice, by the way: Surround yourself with like-minded people so you never have to deal with the possibility that you're wrong.

You guys are fools.  Obama is signing the UN arms treaty.  The 2nd amendment is one step closer to being a thing of the past.  Glenn Beck is 100%.  Just like Comrade Obama told President Medvedev of Russia before Putin was reelected. "After the elections, I'll have more flexibility.".  I hope you guys enjoy all that Obama brings in his 2nd term. Higher taxes and misery.  Enjoy the free shit, freeloaders, while you can.

Can we please just ignore this troll once and for all?  His tears were tears of joy!  He gets four more years to fire up his listeners, get more to advertisers and convince everyone to buy his Jesus jeans and iced tea so that he can retire in comfort.  When y'all finally secede and kick us libtardwhiteguilts out, please make sure you keep this lunatic!

The Cheaper than Dirt guys love Beck. Bullets for everybody!

The fact that Obama has done absolutely nothing to restrict firearm ownership they can't resist the delusion, facts be damned.

Weren't these "end of civilization as we know it because the black guy won" people saying exactly the same things 4 years ago?

"He's coming for your guns" and he hasn't done squat about guns.

"He's shutting off the oil" and the US is now producing more oil than ever in our history.

"He's after your religion" and there's not a single thing that's different in where you go to church or who you pray to.

People need to realize that folks like Beck and Limbaugh are ENTERTAINERS who need ratings in order to succeed. So they are going to spout of any kind of crazy to get people to listen so they can sell stuff.

@TXPride You morons have been crying about your guns for years now... and who has taken them? I know I still have mine.Don't cry, it'll be OK.

We should probably add the names of approximately 10 million raging, hate-filled white Republicans (sorry the white part was superfluous) to your list of people that their United States of White Folks can keep. These self-righteous white folks wouldn't be happy in PinkoLibtardWhiteGuilt-land anyway.

@oakclifftownie - I think it means buy a gun now, in case laws change, which they can at the stroke of the President's Mighty Pen.

No body listens to Beck.  Not even Beck--Southlake (where Beck lives) is one of the most expensive suburbs in Tarrant County  (Hardly rural "farmland")

@Constitution1st  @albert.finney000 If we're a tyranny now, we've been a tyranny since our founding.  The reason nobody takes you libertarians seriously is because you throw around words like 'tyranny' and 'Hitler' with no respect for their literal meaning.Do I like everything the president is doing? No, and I hope they'll change. (I certainly want the Patriot Act abolished, but with it in place, America is hardly a tyrannical state.)But the differences on domestic policy ARE quite stark. I support gay marriage, and like past civil rights fights, I don't think states should get to choose who they oppress. If it's wrong, the federal government should act (besides, states are being allowed to choose as is). I also support a woman's right to choose, another major difference. Plus, Romney and the Right are pushing towards more religious control over our lives, and I will resist that with everything I have.(Also, have you been to the airport lately? All this crap about the TSA molestations is overblown. I fly regularly and have never been 'molested'. It happens one time, some news story reports on it and suddenly we're treating everything like an epidemic.)In a true tyranny, you wouldn't be able to call the president a Tyrant. Try moderating your rhetoric and you might actually convince people.

 @Lyttleton  @albert.finney000

Actually there was so little difference between Obama and Romney that it is a distinction without a difference. Both support:

The Federal Reserve that is robbing Americans of the value of their savings.

Indefinite Detention

The Patriot Act

The NDAA

Kill-lists

The President illegally going to war absent a congressional decaration

Bailouts

The TSA molesters at airports- coming soon to your local mall

The TARP

Support government action on subjects not enumerated in the Constitution- marriage, abortion, health care

America was going to lose whether Tweedle-Dum or Tweedle-Dee got elected...  It's the WWF folks, the players only pretend that they are on opposite 'sides' and America slides every closer to being a totalitarian police state day after day.

@albert.finney000  @Lyttleton Ever considered that smarter people just tend to be liberal because they have a better grip on reality? I mean, I'm not actually saying that's true, but that's just as valid a theory as any of the conspiracies Beck spouts.Plus, going to a liberal college for four years is hardly the same as intentionally moving to a different part of the country just to avoid being near someone who disagrees with you. I went to a university in the midwest and there were no shortage of conservatives and liberals.

Treaties supersede anything already in the constitution.  The problem is that the USA signed and ratified the Vienna Convention on the Law of Treaties which states that countries must regard themselves are under a signed treaty and cannot pass legislation countering the treaty until such time the country fails to ratify said treaty.  Emperor Obama signs and the senile Senator from Nevada  never brings it to the floor of the Senate.  Therefore we lose our 2nd Amendment rights as the treaty effectively voids the 2nd Amendment until this country rids itself of the stench of Democrats in the Senate.

@albert.finney000  @TheJeremyAdams  @scottindallas  @oakclifftownie Public control of utilities is far older than the Constitution, and is not banned in any way by the Constitution.  The principle is older than Adam Smith, though he supported it too.  It's as old as Common Law, and even Hayek supported national healthcare, another utility, like banking.

albert.finney000

@TheJeremyAdams @albert.finney000 @scottindallas - @oakclifftownie - No. "Bankruptcy and immigration are not apart of the constitution." Bankruptcy is. Making immigration law without Congress used to be a no-no. But, circumventing the Constitution so workers can own the means of production is as American as a babuska's bonnet.
