There is Now a White House Petition For Dallas to Become its Own State

Dallas, meet Governor Rawlings.
As Texas awaits official word from the White House on that whole secession thing, which has 94,000 supporters and counting, some in the state aren't sure they want to live in the Republic of Texas, Part Deux. There's a petition for the city of Austin to remain part of the U.S., and that request for an Obama endorsement of Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel for the Heisman I think can pretty much be taken as a plea to remain in the union.

Now, it's Dallas' turn. A gentleman by the name of Austin M. filed a We the People petition yesterday upping the ante. Not only does he want Dallas to remain part of the U.S. of A., he wants it to become its own state.

"This would give the people of Dallas a way to create their own state legislature and perhaps bring Dallas back to the vibrant city it once was," the petition explains, not mentioning the added benefit of not being annexed by Oklahoma.

So far, it's slow going. The petition has exactly one signature: Austin M.'s.

I'm all in, to borrow a phrase.  I propose the seat of government to be in Highland Park, where it is now.  You know, the usual idiots handing down the tablets--what's left of the Crows, Staubach, and of course the current shill Rawlings--in other words the only thing that needs to change are the city limits signs.  Oh, and we can apply to the UN committee that pays lip service to infrastructure.  Our streets and civic "amenities" are on par with Somalia and Haiti so we'll feel right at home.

The state fair is already here, so that part is easy.  How will it work with DFW airport being half in the State of Dallas and half in the Republic of Texas?

The Dallas state motto could be, "Dallas - Where corruption, incompetence, mismanagement, waste, and cronyism thrive".

Maybe we oughta nominate Dubya to be the guvner of Dallas! Then he kin deeklare whar on Austin and look fer some WMD...(you know them democrats is hidin' sumthin' in the hill country)... maybe a medical marijuana farm on the LBJ Ranch! 'ell,  If they ain't with us, then they are with the terrists!

does logic enter into this anywhere? No...

But it sure is fun!

Dallas is more than welcome to become its own state as the great State of Texas would not miss it for one second.

If The Observer was in charge of the borders it would  run along 635. But it would be a good chance to kick South Dallas out into the cold.

I get that Texans have always wanted to secede and it has nothing to do with the POTUS BUT... Dallas can barely function as it's own separate city, county, voting district and school board without getting involved in scandal and bankruptcy. Just because you got a TV show doesn't make you special! Get a GRIP Dallas... You're forever tied to DFW and North Texas!

Secession is in American by definition Stuart. If you ellect to leave the union then you are no longer and American. Last I checked the penalties treason were pretty harsh.

@norman44 maybe i should start a petition to have tolerance for fellow texans opinions, whether you agree with them or not.

@ScottsMerkin  Scotty, don't be a hypocrite.  You're one of the most intolerant on this board.

@Myrna.Minkoff-Katz Let take a poll of the intolerant, Id say I fall in the middle, and you and whiteguiltlibtard/celebratedivershitty would get least tolerant, just on opposite sides of the political spectrum

The Dallas Citizens Council could pick a pupet for life and rule forever as a troika, and then all those pesky people south of the river would get pack to their propper place.

Oh, and what about the Park Cities? Would they have an agreement like Monaco does with France?

@NewsDog You mean as a place for the super rich to live with no income tax?

@James080  @NewsDog They would have to learn French, so that being the Official Language of Socialists, it might not fly.
