Scratch That: Twinkies Are Dead Again

Categories: Biz, Dish

America let out a collective sigh of relief on Monday, when Hostess and its striking union, the Bakery, Confectionery, Tobacco Workers and Grain Millers International, agreed to mediation talks, staving off liquidation -- and the possible but not very likely demise of the Twinkie -- for at least a day.

It's been a day, and it's now clear the talks went exactly nowhere. Hostess posted a note on a website devoted to blaming striking workers for its demise announcing that mediation had failed. It will move to liquidate just as soon as it can get through a bankruptcy hearing scheduled for 10 a.m. today.

And you only thought you were done stockpiling Twinkies.

Yes, what will the Honey Boo Boo crowd do now?  I wonder how many Twinkies they can consume in one sitting?  I seriously doubt that Hostess was going under due to the burdensome Union workers.  Now, they can -re-hire those same workers without any benefits whatsoever & blame Obama.  In the future, you will see companies attempt to portray martyrdom by saying they cannot afford Obama care.  Truthfully, it is sickening.  Collective bargaining is the heart and soul of America.  I'm afraid even the President is bought & sold from large corporate donors who want their back scratched.  I can learn to live without Hostess.  I'm sorry the workers lost their job, but at least they kept their integrity by fighting for what they believe instead of whoring themselves out for corporate pigs.

Curse those people hoping to get a little piece of the American Dream and hold on to it! Don't they know if you're not upper class you're a serf?!!
