Bank Robber Caught and Sentenced, Perhaps Because He Gave the Teller His Name and Social
Back in January, 19-year-old Jacory Stephon Walker walked into the Waxahachie Walmart and approached the counter at 1st Convenience Bank. He wanted to make a withdrawal, he told the teller, but didn't have his account number. Instead, he gave the teller his name and social security number.

It turned out that Walker had overdrawn his account and owed the bank money. He left the bank but returned after about 10 minutes, saying he wanted to deposit $20 toward the amount he owed. When the teller began filling out a deposit slip, he stopped her.
"I have a gun," Walker said. "No noise. Just money."
The teller emptied her drawer and Walker left the bank with the money. He was arrested by Waxahachie police, who found him walking through some nearby apartments with a wad of cash in his hands. When they attempted to talk to him, he took off running before being cornered by officers. He dropped the money and was arrested after a brief struggle, according to the Waxahachie Daily Light.
The whole thing, from robbery to arrest, took seven minutes. Police recovered the entirety of the stolen cash save for $40, which Walker dropped while running from police. Walker pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery in June. On Monday, he was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison.
