Three Men Robbed a Dallas Liquor Store with an AK-47, Then the Clerk Shot Back (Video)

If someone rolled into Unfair Park HQ and pointed an assault rifle at me while they stole my $800 and seven packs of Newports, I'd probably piss my pants and then go become a monk or a farmer, or maybe a farmer-monk. The owner of McGriff's Beer & Wine are not so fainthearted.

The video above shows footage from two robberies carried out by the same three men less than two weeks apart. The first portion of the video shows their successful September 20 robbery that netted the cash and cigarettes. The second shows their less successful attempt on October 1 when, rather than cower at the sight of the business end of an assault rifle, the store's owner fired off three rounds from his own semiautomatic pistol.

The would-be robbers ran out of the store with nothing that time, but that's not much comfort when there's are guys wandering around Dallas with an assault rifle robbing beer stores.

The police are looking for them. Anyone with information should call DPD's robbery unit at 214-671-3584.

The gun worshippers have now gotten their way. Any time you enter a store you're now at risk of being caught in the middle of a gunfight. Guns kill. Guns kill a lot of people.

Number of gun laws broken by robber: at least 1, if not 4 or 5 depending on how the weapon was acquired

Number of gun laws broken by store clerk: 0

If we don't have robbers coming in to rob stores, then we won't have the gunfights that you are so worried about.

If you are being assaulted, anything is an assault weapon: words, dishes, bats.

I think you mean assault weapon, an assault rifle as a specific definition. All assault rifles are assault weapons but not all assault weapons are assault rifles. An AK-47 can be an assault weapon and not be an assault rifle it can also, depending on the features, by an assault rifle as well.

Well, if we're being pedantic:

Rifle: noun. A shoulder firearm with spiral grooves cut in the inner surface of the gun barrel to give the bullet a rotatory motion and thus a more precise trajectory.

The AK-47 (which this is not, being either a knockoff or one of its many derivatives, but never mind) fits that definition, as well as that of "assault rifle":

noun 1. a military rifle capable of both automatic and semiautomatic fire, utilizing an intermediate-power cartridge. 2. a nonmilitary weapon modeled on the military assault rifle, usually modified to allow only semiautomatic fire.

@Double-O-Joe @chad well if we're going to be pedantic it is an assault style rifle. in all likelihood it is semi-automatic and not full auto. it looks like an AK-47 but is most probably not
