A Rangers-A's Open Thread, Because You Guys Aren't Getting Any Work Done Anyway

Any more fist pumps from the Moneyballers and the Rangers are in Friday's much-feared one-gamer.
The good news: Meaningful day-time baseball. The bad news: It comes about a week too soon.

The Rangers have one more crack at Oakland's swinging (and walking) A's this afternoon. It's win-and-they're-in, lose-and-they're-kind-of-in.

Since workplace productivity will be in the tank anyway, we figured we'd provide a place to bitch about the collapse, bemoan Beltre's injury (he's DHing today) and contemplate a world with no postseason baseball past Friday night.

Hit the comments below. We'll update with highlights in case you need them.

That was catastrophic; this team is going nowhere.....we'll look back on this team like the 75-78 Redsox, great, but not a winner-and that's a shame.  Bye Josh, I hope the Yankee's or the Orioles love putting up with yer sh+t!

93-69 is nothing to sneeze at, look down your nose at, or frown about.

It's too bad that some people who do Afternoon Drive on the Ticket are still soaked in Period Blood over last year's Game 6.

Let's get Uehara or Tateyama up.  Come on, Washin, nobody's hitting them.  Josh Hamilton sucks.  He hasn't cared about this team since the All Star break.  He needs to go.  Not worth $.

Ron Washington waited WAY too late to bring in Derek.  Way too late.

Someone needs to be up in the bull pen.  He's lost his splitter and his change-ups.

Unless they start swinging at strikes instead of watching them go by, they will never win this game.  Just shows every game of the season counts.

@Dallas_Observer They really look like they just don't give a crap. I don't see this game ending well!

I want to believe but this late-season string of failures is only giving me Game Six flashbacks.

@Dallas_Observer If sports and beer were a job...then I am getting work done!

Three straight hits for the A's, including a run-scoring a double. Here's hoping this thing's still a game when I get back from my Dallas Music Awards meeting.

I caught some grief from a homer when I Tweeted this last night: "There can't be a wider gap in the majors between how good Hamilton can look and how bad. He wasn't close to those balls."

Nadel, just now: "He flailed at that one."

And by the way: The MLB blacking out games from MLB.TV is super frustrating. Yes, I'm in the home market, but that doesn't mean I can plant myself in front of a TV.

@steve.sandwich at least they talk and like the Rangers as opposed to that other staition where one of the host has disdain for them

are you high?  93-69 and losing on the last game is CATASTROPHIC!  CATASTROPHIC.  Once I got my ass whipped by some fat kid in the neighborhood, and he told me that no one remembers losers-get it?

@joe.tone Thats my biggest gripe about MLB.TV.  The reason I need it is to be able to watch my team when Im not in my home or my bar.  It makes no sense why blackout rules apply.  I wouldnt be watching and for fucks sake, i damn sure wasnt buying a ticket to the road game

@WatchingSouthDetroit Ryan Dempster is on the bump, which is another name for the mound, which is the pile dirt on which he is about to maybe pee himself.

Dempster has never faced the A's. Then again, most of these guys were selling moisturizer at the mall last year, so no one's all that experienced against them.
