Video: Man Gets Pistol-Whipped, Mugged While Getting Gas on Harry Hines

Categories: Crime

Ramiro Arriaga was getting gas at a Harry Hines 7-11 just after midnight on August 31 when a man walked up behind him, put a gun to his head, and pistol-whipped him. As the man held Arriaga to the ground, a second suspect, described only as a black woman, rifled through his pockets, finding a cell phone and $100. The two then got into a red Pontiac driven by a third person, also described as a black woman, and fled.

Police are looking for the three people involved in the robbery, one of whom is shown in a picture taken by an in-store surveillance camera. Anyone with information should contact Detective Carcone with the Crimes Against Persons Division at 214-671-3649 or file an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers at 214-373-TIPS.

speaking of robbers, and "office creeper" was caught today at 2100 Ross building.  he had been spotted in several other buildings this past week and was noticed by security and arrested leaving the building through a stairwell

I feel bad for the guy, but this is why I always try to be aware of my surroundings and avoid getting gas at night.

@ScottsMerkin We had one of those in our building who went into the office next door and walked out (unnoticed) with a scanner. For some reason, he left it in a backpack in the men's restroom (where I ran across it) and after going door-to-door on our floor I found out who it belonged to.

This happens a LOT in smaller office buildings that have several different small companies on each floor. A lot of these companies don't have receptionists, or have receptionists that are also doing other work, because they don't have a lot of people coming through their doors. You can never be too careful–we learned to ask people we saw on our floor who we had not seen before where they were going, were they lost, etc.

@Edward apparently this guy was a known creeper, his photo had been sent to mnay office buildings downtown to be on the lookout.  Ou security team on the ground floor spotted him and he went for a mid level floor elevator.  Unfortunately for him, he chose a secure floor of my company and got called out by an employee he fled through the stairwell but security had already called DPD
