Also not real cops.
Shakbsha Burleson has trouble sleeping at night. So around 3 a.m. this morning, as she told police, she set out for her usual late-night walk in her Lake Highlands neighborhood. Soon after, she noticed a man walking up and down the street nearby, then parking himself on a bridge railing. As she passed him, she said, he began following her.

They passed in front of a cluster of apartment buildings, and, according to a police report, the man, later identified as 20-year-old Yared Aman, approached. He told Burleson that he was a police officer and that she'd need to follow him behind the buildings. She did.

At that point, the report says, Burleson asked for Aman's I.D. He replied that he was an undercover officer and "he didn't need to show her." He countered by asking Burleson for her I.D. Clearly smelling a rat by this point in the game, Burleson demanded Aman's badge number. He refused. Then, he offered her a beer.

Burleson left the apartment complex where the two had been standing and walked across the street, where she called the (actual) cops. Aman stuck around, standing by a fence and watching her. When an officer arrived, she pointed him out: "He's right there on the other side of the fence." Aman, who is described in the report as "cooperative," walked over to the officer to chat and was promptly arrested. He was booked into Dallas County Jail around 4 a.m. on charges of impersonating a public servant. His bond hasn't yet been set.

In a stunning twist, the arrest report notes that Aman was not sober.
