Mitt Romney Wants You to Know: Black People Love Him, Including Dallas Rep. Stefani Carter

Categories: Politics

When Mitt Romney spoke at the NAACP convention in Houston two weeks ago, he was roundly booed when he promised to repeal the signature law of the nation's first black president. Some said Romney had cojones for speaking his mind to voters he had little chance of wooing. Some viewed it as a transparent political ploy, a way to prove to supporters that he does, in fact, have cojones.

Probably a bit of both, though the Romney camp hasn't been shy about using the speech to its political advantage. Last night, the campaign released a video featuring endorsements from a handful of black supporters, interspersed with generous cutaways to the crowd of rapt black faces at the NAACP convention. The message is clear: Black people love Mitt Romney!

One of the speakers is a familiar face, state Rep. Stefani Carter, who represents North Dallas and suburbs.

"Governor Romney's speech hit the nail on the head," she says. "We have a nation that's suffering economically. He wants to provide an equal opportunity to every American."

The Black race has never hated anyone who didn’t force hate on them; so I can say we do love Mitt Runfrommey, but the real question is does he or his religion love people of color back.

I think there are enough black Democrats on this blog--and maybe even a supporter of Stefani's liberal Democratic opponent.  We Republicans love Stefani Carter.  She is impressive, a Harvard Law grad, and a very sweet lady with a modest background.  We cannot wait to see her serve her second term!  I'm so glad she was selected to be in this video, and I am not surprised because I know her.

Seems like Eric agrees that Romney has "cojones" and is "More Man" than Mr. Obama.

Bragging that he has the support of Stefani Carter? I've met Stefani Carter, that's really nothing to be proud of.

Hmmm...and John wiley Price and/ or Eddie Berneice Johnson are political figures one can be "proud of"?

Romney is a rich pariah who simply can’t identify with ANY average American through his fog of lies and network of havened money.  He’ll only continue to get booed out of the room by every group of minority and middle class voters he comes across.  His religion and wealth is highly elitist and everyone in this country has had it with his kind.  We’re telling Mitt he can’t buy this election!  Read about the role of his money and his Magic Mormon Underwear are playing in the polls at http://dregstudiosart.blogspot.com/2012/05/mitt-romneys-magic-mormon-underwear.html

@dregstudios art n majors suffer from creativity illusions that doing stuff with paint and mud makes them politically smart.  not actually so...but delusion is close to illusion which is close to art.

You sir happen to be an absolute bigot. Myself and a large portion of those who surround me are in fact middle class and DO support Romney.  Your post gives off the typical since of jealousy a large portion of the left holds for those who have managed to achieve success in this great country. My main reason for supporting the GOP is that they understand that a large portion of Americans, both middle class and above are TIRED of supporting a bloated government, as well as funding entitlement programs. Frankly, the comments you made regarding his religion happen to be absolutely disgusting and this is coming from someone who is in fact non religious. Just remember...Ignorance is bliss!

I am sure that you actually mean "useless entitlement programs" rather than "entitlement programs" generically.  This weeks' poverty rate  statistics indicating that the percentage of Americans  in poverty equals the percentage of impoverished Americans in l965 (at the start of the multi-trillion dollar -lost- War on Poverty) are monuments to impotent/soul killing  socialist redistributionism. Excellent post.

It's almost as if he didn't get a cheers on his SSM position, and didn't get a standing ovation at the end of the speech, go figger.

Obama's upcoming speech to the NRA ought to be pretty good though.

@Albert A Standing Ovation at the end of his speech, and white dems went limp with fear, including the President who then sent Biden (ha!), our first Bonehead (vice)President.
