DPD Officer Arrested Last Night After Allegedly Drinking, Driving, Wrecking Guy's Car

An officer with the Dallas Police Department was arrested last night for drunk driving after she allegedly got into a wreck on the Central Expressway service road and drove away without leaving insurance information.

DPD announced a few minutes ago on their Facebook page that Officer Erica Montanez , a two-year-veteran assigned to the Southeast Patrol Division, is on administrative leave pending the outcome of criminal and internal affairs investigations into the crash.

According to the police report, Montanez was off duty and headed south on the Central Expressway service road when she stopped her 2003 Honda Accord coupe for a red light at Mockingbird. She was in the left-turn-only lane but went straight when the light turned green, crashing into a car turning left from the adjacent lane, causing no injuries but about $1,500 in damage.

The other driver watched in his rearview mirror as Montanez drove off and merged onto the highway. He followed her to Knox-Henderson, where she exited. When he pulled alongside her at a red light, she pulled across four lanes of traffic. He pulled alongside her again in the parking lot of a Shell station, at which point Montanez presented him with proof of insurance.

When the driver noticed that the insurance card contained only a man's name and that Montanez was a woman, he called police, who arrested her.

Really at this point this girl has major problems. I can understand the bitter ex wife lashing. I'd be mad if someone messed around with my spouse too. It's clear that maybe this offier has a drinking problem as well as emotional issues. These issues need to be resolved. Hope she finds peace and the bitter ex wife. You have no idea what this Erica chick help my best friend through. When my best friend politely texted her and said, "pls stay outta my marriage and stop messing around with my husband." She knew that he was married and she even met his wife. She continued to mess around with him. I know it takes two to tango. But damn this Erica girl really hurt my best friend. It's was hard on her considering she was married to her HS sweetheart been together since 2002. She has moved on, but it still hurts bc she never did anything wrong to Erica in the first place.
