Arlington Pastor Hates Gays and Mormons

Anybody's welcome at Dwight McKisson's Cornerstone Baptist Church in Arlington, except gays and Mormons.
First Baptist Pastor Robert Jeffress gets most of the press for his outspoken views on homosexuality and Mormonism, but over at the Dallas Voice, John Wright highlights the, um, retrograde views of another prominent local preacher, Dwight McKissic of Arlington's Cornerstone Baptist Church.

McKissic successfully introduced a resolution at the recent Southern Baptist Convention in New Orleans opposing same-sex marriage and declaring that homosexuality is a choice, not to be confused with a civil right. "They're equating their sin with my skin," he told The Associated Press.

But on his blog he really lets loose. Wright points us to the post he wrote in response to Obama's support for marriage equality.

President Obama has betrayed the Bible and the Black Church with his endorsement of same-sex marriage. The Bible is crystal clear on this subject, and the Black Church strongly opposes same-sex marriage. His endorsement is an inadvertent attack on the Christian Faith. America is now a candidate for the same judgment received by Sodom and Gomorrah. This was a sad, sad day and a very bad decision, by our beloved President. The moral impact of this day and decision is equal to the military impact of AL-Queda when they attacked the Twin Towers on 911. Today's announcement is a moral earthquake equivalent to a tsunami or hurricane that will have far more devastating results than Katrina.

We already knew, of course, that Katrina was the gays' fault. Pat Robertson said so, as did McKissic, but now God is even madder. You think that hail storm was a meteorological fluke? Also, the anti-Christ is gay.

As for the Mormon thing, McKissic introduced another resolution at the SBC condemning Mormonism as racist.

Wouldn't equipping African and African American Christians from being influenced by Mormon good deeds to accept Mormonism be a good reason to affirm this Resolution? I Peter 3:15 commands that believers be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks about our faith. When a Mormon knocks on an African or African American door, wouldn't this resolution equip the African/African Americans to defend the Christian faith?

Persons might take the Mormon documents at face value unless the SBC warns them.

I've never known Southern Baptists to be squeamish or timid about denouncing Mormonism. Why now?

McKissic is obviously very confident in his beliefs, but they seem to leave him in a bit of a political pickle. He can't vote for Obama because he tolerates gay people, and he can't support Romney because Mormons are racist. Maybe he can write-in Huckabee. No? Pat Buchanan? Jerry Falwell? Jesus?

When early voting, Pastor McKisson was about to write his own name in for President; then a shudder ran through his body.  He'd never felt guilt and shame associated with memories of pressuring women to have sex during counseling sessions before... how strange.  So, he wrote in Deion Sanders for President.

its impososible to examine ideas from an age of supersition for validity.  Words in the bible written adn rewritten translated and retranslated. At least science can physically prove many things.  Like how that pc on your desk works. ntohing can prove religion. Remember harrold camping who keeps predicting the return of jesus.  it never happens but he always says he made a mistake in his calculations but over the last 6 or so years, fools have sent him almost $100 mil. its time to end religious freedom and prosecute people like camping and others under the racketeering acts.

its not science - its simply being subjected to foolish twisted and invented stories from an age of ignorance and stuporstiion. Religious education should be banned along with naziism.  Hitler btw was a racist who didnt death camp blacks because they all but werent present in Germany etc at that time he did find about 20000 gays and toss them into the ovens. he was born and baptised catholic in LInz Austria in 1888

Given the hatred of blacks, their enslavement, segregation, lynching etc, one can hardly blame Pastor Wright for saying bad things about America the repubs for the most part are the southern bible belt people whose worst nightmare  has come true in Obama. its more then a nightmare - just replace what is in the white southen baptists minds  the letters  "night" with the derogatory n...... term for blacks. And this black pastor joins wiht the same bad people.

You mean when they were effectively forced into segregation.  Bigot u r Actually their better - they dont go around hating people because of religious beliefs.

whose sign ove rhis hunting grounds said (n-word) head ranch. and the black preacher is in the same church.    Some people sell their souls for money, he sells his for power and money.

so how do we keep hetero people to keep their heterosexuality private.?? OUtlaw hand holding, kissing in public, walking togetehr with their kiddies etc. All you want is more of a version of segregation.   Isnt working any more.

this is their newest game / lie   its called we love you butt. I thought lieing was a sin but its not when its really about power. How in good conscious any black person can join with the  church that enslaved them boggles the mind, but welcum to the power of religion I didnt say the honesty or decency of religion.  All through mans history, most wars have ahd a religious component. the catholic church demonized Jews for a millenium. creating the foundations for the holocaust and the election of a mad austria catholic to power in germany Goebbels,  Dr.  meneke,    Adoph Eichmann etc were catholics .All went to cath schools. BTW they were also purifying the German race.   the pope often talsk about the purity of his religion. Of course he grew up in germany and heres what he learned in his youth http://nobeliefs.com/nazis.htm

I don't like gays and Mormons either. But I don't like anyone, so it's not really the same.

Cut the ol' Rev some slack,  boys.  He's gotta meet the note on his big building,  keep trying to start a tv ministry,  buy clothes from Omar the TentMaker.   He's got it figured to the nearest nth.  If he preaches on subject x,  what's the take likely to be from the church,  from tv,  from radio,  etc.  As I noted earlier,  GLBT is the last group it's financially advantageous to hate.  Only a few preachers take out after Moslems,  there's not much money in that.  I'm sure preachers wrote fund-raising letters about how Moslems were gonna teach little Granddaughter in the first grade,  got nothing back.  BUT,  I've seen the letters written to older folks,  if you don't support our stopping it,  Queers will be teaching 1st and 2nd graders,  and helping them in the school bathrooms..  That's what the Rev is doing,  fundraising. There's a book out on the Jerry Fedwell empire.  He got the most money in when he railed about Preverts.  Worth reading,  I'm not kidding,  Rev. Sun Moon and the Moonies supported Fedwell during his financial adventures.  Which included narrowly escaping indictment a couple times. Easy,  when you get short of money,  as Jeffords has proven,  queers are always out there,  good for a better than usual haul of loot.  Gets his name in the news,  too,  reminding folks he's relevant.  He's got to find recruits to put in the seats formerly filled by all the little blue-haired Park Cities ladies who the Lord has recently clasped to His bosom.

Everyone, all together now! "I COULDN'T CARE LESS!!" I hate people who misuse this phrase as much as this reverend hates gays and mormons. Saying you could care less means that you do care, because you could actually care less than what you care. Anyways, back to the discussion at hand...
