It's Only a Matter of Time Before Our Fancy New Bridge Gets Disemboweled by a Tornado

In the meantime, take cover, marvel at Mother Nature's latest moves in the videos below, and be on the look out for a Justin Terveen-shaped man flying past your office window, click-click-clicking away.

Also, if you want to stay up to date, KXT is covering it blow by blow, including on-the-ground updates from listeners. Most of the reports are pretty cool, but every once in a while someone randomly starts singing "Ants Marching."

Update, 3:30 p.m.: More videos below.

Update, 3:37 p.m.: Flights at DFW have been grounded, per Rueters Africa, and Love Field's terminal has been evacuated, according to every single person on Twitter.

This is video from CNN, of trailers being trashed by a tornado.

Next up is a YouTube video from someone who had to pull over to avoid a funnel cloud.

Mike Napoli, Rangers catcher/weather reporter, Tweeted this video.

Is it possible to overuse the EAS system.  It seems every few minutes the use the damn thing.  Pretty soon no one pays any attention anymore.

Joe, I thought you knew that all things bridge related are the exclusive turf of Schutze.

On another note, this storm was keeping the storm spotters in Dallas, Denton and Tarrant Counties hopping.

yesssss, children of the sun....must only be listened to at full volume, and i like your choice of doing it whilst riding the white lightning and lassoing ternaders

I find this statement both wildly inappropriate, and VERY, very funny. I'm going to have a nice shot of tequila to calm "me" nerves.  Driving through that was a white knuckled affair. best wishes to all!

I had to drive from McKinney to Denton and back to McKinney (not by choice!) all within a time frame that somehow allowed me to miss both storm cells heading for those cities. Seeing as how driving and watching live storm tracking can't be done at the same time, the EAS updates on the radio were a HUGE help.

seriously? you are kidding right?  I would think a day like today where nearly every city in our are was affected by tornados and large hail was a perfect time for the EAS.  In fact it probably saved untold lives, like that of my friend whose EAS on TV broke in for the kennedale tornado and within 5 seconds the power went out and the tornado trashed the store next to them

Seemed appropriate to me today since lives were in jeopardy and property was destroyed. Perhaps you missed hearing about the actual, real live on-the-ground tornados today? That's what those sirens are for. Ignore them at your own peril.

Children of the Sun-loud, and watching the Cowboys game, whilst drinkin' "herd licker"!  What says party like classic rock, and NFL football?  Nothing better than watching a critical 4th down while listenin' to "Gimme Three Steps".

driving through dallas on a regular day is a white knuckled affair.  Hell, yesterday I got hit in the drivers door while making a left turn because the guy in the the other left turn only lane decided to go straight.
