Don McLeroy, Noted Texas Creationist, Braved the Colbert Report Last Night

Categories: Politics

It's one of those interviews that probably would've worked better a half hour earlier on the Daily Show, since Colbert can't quite accomplish what he wants to question-wise and still let his character shine. But it's amusing, and fascinating to watch an elected official swear that dinosaurs and people "absolutely" once shared real estate.

"Reality by majority vote."  Otherwise known as the current state of Texas politics.

Pretty dumb of the guy to appear on The Colbert Report.  Did you see his face when Colbert had argued him into a corner and he had no idea what to say? Sorry, I didn't note the time.

So, Texans, explain yourselves. The rest of us would like to know what you're smoking so we can avoid it at all costs.

Laugh at him all you want to, but this man (and his evil theocratic brethren) have been reshaping the curricula of Texas schools for a generation now.  It may take another generation just to restore reason and sanity to Texas schools, and in the meantime Texas kids are being brainwashed by these narrow-minded social conservatives.

I see my dentist twice a year, but only for advice on science. For my teeth, I see a theologian.
