"That's my boy!"
It was back in January when we first introduced you to young Anthony Blue, a 19-year-old man trying to make a go in the bank-robbing field. He was off to a decent start, actually: In June of last year, he had walked into a Garland bank and slipped the teller a note -- "50's 100's and no body gets hurt, sorry" -- and walked out with a cash drawer full of loot.

He made the same play later that day in Rockwall, and a month later in Quinlan. But that's when Mom went all cyber-cop on him.

According to a U.S. Attorney's office release sent yesterday:

Shortly thereafter, Blue's mother called the FBI, after visiting the website bandittracker.com, and told agents that she believed her son had robbed the State Bank of Texas in Garland and the Community Bank in Rockwall. FBI agents visited Blue's mother and her husband and presented bank surveillance photos from those robberies, along with a photo of the individual who robbed the American National Bank in Quinlan. Both the defendant's mother and her husband identified Blue as the bank robber from all three robberies

Blue pleaded guilty in January, and yesterday he was sentenced to 59 months in federal prison, during which he's expected to receive several letters from his mom, which he will open, sure, but he is not writing back.
