Sandra Crenshaw Wants You To Throw Out Your Wig And Mace The Living Shit Out Of Korean Storeowners

Categories: Fashion

So, ex-Dallas City council member Sandra Crenshaw is throwing her wig in the trash on Sunday. She wants you there. Better yet, if you're a black woman with a Korean-made wig, she wants you to join her. (The video you see above is not about wigs, exactly. It's just something we had lying around in the archives.)

"The 25th is going to be an announcement," Crenshaw said over the phone, because of course I had to call her when I heard about her de-wigging. "It's going to be an announcement of what our strategy is going to be to target the Korean beauty supply industry."

If you're late catching up, some black residents of southern Dallas aren't too happy with Korean people. (Here's looking at you, Nation of Islam Student Minister Jeffery Muhammad.) Following a racial slur-slinging incident between Muhammad and a Korean store owner named Tommy Pak down on MLK Boulevard, Muhammad got some of the southern Dallas black community powers together to protest Pak out of business -- then eventually kick all Koreans out of business in the neighborhood because they "didn't deserve" to make money in the black community.

Crenshaw was kind of a late adopter to the cause, not joining until Muhammad spoke at a conference saying that Koreans in particular "have sucked billions of dollars out of the black community every year, because you're taking money away from women who have been taught that their nappy hair is ugly. "

Anyway, Crenshaw wanted in, but she thought the battle against Koreans was too Pak-centric, and that blacks "don't want to embrace the larger issues." Two issues top Crenshaw's list: Koreans have a lucrative monopoly on the South Dallas beauty supply industry, and to rub it in, they're really rude.

Instead of targeting specific beauty supply stores owned by assholes, Crenshaw's rallying black women -- and men when applicable, one supposes -- to trash their wigs at the South Dallas Cultural Center. On Sunday, Crenshaw's going to introduce her plan to expose southern Dallas Korean beauty supply owners for the abusive exploiters that they, as a people, supposedly are.

"We want to do a documentary," she said. "We want to ask all the people who've had experiences, so we can show the depth of it. Let the women tell the experiences they have in the Korean shop." She told me a story of a woman who had her wig ripped off her head in a store, and of Korean owners acting disrespectful to black patrons.

Don't believe Crenshaw? Well, maybe you'll believe her spy network. Crenshaw wants to amass a legion of black volunteer mystery shoppers throughout southern Dallas to weave their way into beauty supply stores carrying hidden, miniature cameras to record their encounters with Koreans.

Still not sold on how awesome this will be? There's more.

"We're going to encourage shoppers to wear Mace to protect themselves from them," she said ("them" being Korean beauty store people). "We're going to ask police where we can readily buy Mace."

Now, before you dismiss Crenshaw's project as absurd, imagine videos of black women and Korean shop owners fighting it out in a fog formed of Mace and floating hair. Yeah, "perfect for Bravo" is what Unfair Park was thinking too. It could be TV goldmine.

But what about the poor souls who need their wigs, or like wigs, or collect wigs, or get squeamish with talk of spy cameras and police-grade weaponry?

"The Indians are now marketing their hair," Crenshaw said. "They seem to be nicer."

Sandra... if there's a market in the Black community for wigs why don't you just open a Black wig salon?

Hire some Black women who know the business; you be the owner.

Paul, you are so right, If at any time anywhere, there is a homicide associated with a robbery, complaints of beating, and mistreating the public at  a TABC establishment at a gas station which is considered a public accomodation , there should be an TABC adminstrative hearing.  Paul, there are no other gas stations in this area, which is the reason why it is difficult to convince the area not to shop there. My group does not advocate closing the establishment, only that the operators abide by the rules of conduct, adhere to all health and public safety standards.  Please report any complaints of abuse directly to the TABC 1-888-843-8222 and the abuse of  minorities, disabled, religious, or sexual oriented persons  to Department of Justice Civil Rights Division

SANDRA CRENSHAW WANTS TABC ADMINISTRATIVE HEARING ON TOMMY PAK AND THE TEXAS HEALTH COMMISSION TO STUDY THE EFFECTS OF FAKE NAILS ON CHILDREN AND GLUE ON THEIR SCALPS AND TO DEMAND THAT TEA TO ENSURE THAT TEXT BOOKS INCLUDE IMAGES OF BLACKS WITH NATURAL HAIR  (FOR STARTERS)

Imagine how the young men who complained of sexual assault at Penn State would feel if the coach went to Rev. Olsteen and the NRA and said I will make a big contribution to your building fund and purchase memberships if you get these complainants to go away. Rev. Olsteen has a press conference hugging the coach and says "We are Christians, and if you say you are sorry, the student body and the victims forgive you." Sign this proclamation that the NRA gets free football tickets to all of Penn State home games, you will give scholarships to sex offenders and teach them to don't ask, don't tell and we will teach you how the politics of the "community works"

Then the Observer and the television stations announce a victory. Let's ignore the protesters,Paint Sandra Crenshaw as crazy and call it a day.

Please call State Representative Eric Johnson at 214-565-5663 and demand that he ask TABC to investigate the claims of the citizens who claim that they have been mistreated and violently assaulted at Tommy Pak's gas station and the claims of illegal activities at his store including buying stolen goods, gambling, selling drug paraphanelia, and football pots, and pumping gas in plastic containers when the protesters are not there.  His intern,Anthony Carr will be more than happy to hear your concerns and assure you that Atty. Johnson gets your message, even if you become irate at his sarcasm.  This is a state wide issue and you do not have to live in his district. People from all over the world travel 45 and stop at this fueling station.

I will contact Mavis Knight, local representative on the Texas Educational Agency to advocate for the prohibition of  nail and beauty salons serving children under 14 with fake nails and glue on their scalps.

TO pbluett 18 hours ago in reply to sandra crenshawSandra, just between you and me, I would not get into any gun fights with Koreans.  They are tenacious and historically do not like to lose (lol) --even Truman and MacArthur found that out the hard way.Interesting that you mention Koreans as being tenacious, I asked Rev. Al Sharpton to come to Dallas and his office said NO way was he getting involved with the Koreans after a bout with them in New York in the 1990's. Well meet this one tenacious BLACK woman who knows the law and does not like to lose and is going to demand that justice be done. POWER CONCEDES NOTHING WITHOUT A DEMAND. Frederick Douglass,1872

I have had two experiences with them, and documented a dozen other incidents. Too many immigrants come into  high crime areas with full knowledge that it is drug infested with low income Section 8,homeless, and food stamp reciepinets. Banks will not finance businesses in these areas and not even blacks want to take the risk and loss of stealing.  They do not invest in crime prevention  methods, inflate prices to food stamp customers and take the law into their own hands, and then accuse the victim of assaulting them. When law abiding blacks tell the media and the authorities that they observe illegal activities in these operations, we are accused of slander. Therefore if we have mystery shoppers, we can get evidence. Just the mere knowledge that any customer may be equipped with surveillance will at least keep some merchants on their toes.Knowing that we are equipped with mace will make them think twice about making physical contact that any reasonable person will find to be offensive and provocative.  I cannot make my announcement about being Happy to Be Nappy on Sunday and expose who the mystery shoppers are on camera. I shared that with the brother who betrayed his people, once again. Besides, I'm counter protesting the the Trevon Martin hype on Sunday  until Mr. Carpenter is afforded legal counsel by some of these self righteous civil right leaders in Dallas. .

We have asked Senator John Coryn and Congressman Lamar Smith and the DOJ Office of Civil Rights to call for a congressional hearing. We have a phone conference with the DOJ in Washington DC Monday, March 26th at 2:00p.m. Call me at 214-498-5298 if you want to be conferenced in.

Crenshaw is a certifiably crazy attention whore who has more recently lied in accusing the convenience store owner of beating elderly people. When challenged to provide a police report or any other proof of these beatings, she ignored the challenge. Therefore, she's a liar, and undeserving of further credibility.

After all, if this story had even a shred of truth, the other rabble-rousing, race-baiting attention whores like the self-proclaimed student minister and the soon-to-be-gone NAACP official would have trumpeted the story long before now.

Crenshaw is just irked that the publicity ship sailed without her. She has now reached crazily for a bizarre angle about wigs and the beauty supply business. The sad part is that she's still accorded any credibility at all, any attention at all, by people who should know better, and I'm not talking about the sheeple in that geographic location she calls a community.

Crenshaw is a lunatic pure and simple. In fact she even spent time in Rusk. That is the Texas State Hospital in Rusk. Remember the stunt she pulled when she tried to steal pro Obama ballots at a caucus site in 2008? Yeah she was a city councilwoman and some sort of civic "leader" at some time in the past but really isn't the Observer doing all of us a disservice by giving this crazed racistvany sort of forum. Frankly we'd all be better off if someone had guts just to put her back in the psych ward where she belongs.

Wow, this is certainly a display of pure genius going on here. I'm not going to bother reading anymore of it, but so far it sounds like Sandra's got big problems with Korean shop owners, white people, Jewish property owners, and all black elected officials. And with all the problems and challenges facing South Dallas, she is ranting about wigs and a rotten fence near a dumpster. I occasionally drive through South Dallas and I see much worse than a rotten fence down there...

Once again, Dallas cannot count on the Observer, even when the author is an African American,( I assume-- by his Negroid features)  to give an accurate account of the racism that African Americans face. Thousands of black women in Dallas, TODAY, complain about the treatment in various, not all Korean owned wig shops. In the protest, we learned of women who were pushed out of the stores or their wigs snatched off their heads because they questioned the price or laid the money on the counter or had the police called on them, including nationally known natural hair cultural activists like Isis.  I have worn wigs for almost 50 years, bought 'em in many colors and many styles from many Korean stores across the country, but when I  recently experienced the disdain myself in Dallas, Texas --  from a Korean AMERICAN male, not an immigrant with language and preconceived prejudices against blacks---I had to reconsider why is this attitude and mistreatment toward blacks still prevalent in 2012, twenty years after the LA blacks against Korean riots in 1992.  Is it just Dallas?  Brother Jeffery explained to the Korean Leadership that far too many African Americans wear wigs, change their hair color, wear blue eye contacts, because slave owners taught us to hate ourselves. to hate our big lips, to hate our nappy hair, our dark skin tones. Greg obviously hates himself and us too.  The Don't Stop Don't Shop Movement is a campaign to encourage the downtrodden to not support ANY business that discriminates against us but it is also an opportunity for us to assess why DO we put billions of dollars into elective resources, like wigs, name brand clothes and shoes, recreational drugs, fast foods and other things to harm ourselves.  Howard preempted the announcement with his motive of making us look STUPID for trying to figure out why DO we do STUPID things like shopping with anybody that tries to sell us low quality merchandise, at higher prices, unsanitary facilities, trash outside the buildings, rude customer service and that beat the crap out of complaining customers and call us niggahs.  Gregg called the Korean merchants assholes, I did not. I support the DSDS protest. Kwik Stop is targeted for me NOT because of the racial slurs but because of repeated violations of local, county, state, and federal laws that govern the conduct of  any owner and operator of a public accommodation. The laws protect and prevent conduct and conditions that are a threat to the health and public safety of its customers and its employees, that here---- have gone unchecked for far too long and in most cases disregarded by black elected and appointed officials. Today, in Dallas, we have a black police chief, a black DA, a black state representative, a black state senator, and  black council representatives, a black county commissioner, a black congressperson, black news reporters.  I want to know why we have to still pick up a PICKET stick to PROTEST  to just get justice today in Dallas Texas when our forefathers fought for and gained POLICIES to protect us from the Tommy Paks of the world. A whole "notherstory on them on election day.  A Black president and a black trade ambassador signed a Korean Trade Agreement on day 83 of the protest. I wonder if Michelle mentioned the black consumer index??? in the beauty supply industry.  I thought I was helping Greg out by giving him a heads up early because he is doing a story on the Protest with a Tuesday deadline and here he has reduced a movement here to something comical.  The others in the movement refused to give Greg an interview because he writes for the Dallas Observer, a paper with a history of denigrating black officials.  In talking with Greg, I find him to be a young assimilated post racial African American who does not know his history and does not understand the black culture--- as is evident in this story. Chris Rock, Spike Lee and other national figures have done movies on the black hair thing. I want to document the Dallas version. The treatment of this story by Greg Howard, a black man, and the comments here best serve as an example of the ignorance of our plight. Even more reason to endure the indignities I suffer here to make my case. Otherwise,as I have always said that the only thing crazy about me is to continue to talk to the Observer

I'm not sure I follow your argument.  It seems to be some sort of stream of consciousness ramble.

In your 2nd paragraph, there was no need for the Rev Olsteen and the NRA to be involved in the Penn State sex scandal.  I'm not sure that I see how they would be involved.  It seems that the Penn State administration did a wonderful job by themselves in covering up this scandal.

In your 3rd paragraph, what is the point of calling the TABC about mistreatment and assaults at the gas station?  Aren't assault investigations the purvue of the DPD?  Wouldn't TABC's concern be with when and to whom alcohol is sold from this location?  For example, sales to minors, before noon on Sundays.

In your last paragraph, I don't believe that the TEA has any jurisdictional authority over cosmetologists.  I would recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration to see if new regulations can be written within the existing statutory framework or if an amendment is needed to be passed by the Legislature in the next legislative session.

Hope this helps.

It seems to me that Ms. Crenshaw is deserving of more support than she is receiving.

The white community has been saying for years "clean up your community" and now that there are people trying to do just that, they are hearing "you're not doing it the way we think you should".  Frankly that is bullshit.

There isn't a person living outside Ms. Crenshaw's community who can fully appreciate what she and her neighbors are dealing with and suggestions of "own your own businesses" or "don't shop in those stores" rank up there with the question "Where did you leave it?" when somebody says that something is lost.

I'm pretty surprised that the supposedly Progressive readership of the D.O. is responding (or silently sitting on their hands) this way.

Realist, this occured over 90 days ago. DO has an interview with the victim on video on January 2,2012. The NOI and others have published the interview onFacebook and YouTube.

This is the first article that Jim Schutze wrote on the protests. It was called "Live, From Atop Schutze's Head, a Battle Between Races at Local Convenience Store"  http://blogs.dallasobserver.co... I learned of this altercation about 30 days ago. I searched for the man. I threatened some of the protesters that if this man was coached, they should be prosecuted and they finally gave me his contact information. I have asked the DOJ to investigate ALL parties, the NOI,DPD,Dallas Observer, NAACP,the DA,the FBI Justice Seekers, Gregg Howard, State Representative Eric Johnson,State Senator Royce West and Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson and the Mayor of Dallas as to why this incident has not been brought to justice. The incident was brought to the attention of All of the above. Justice demands that we know what happened. What does the evidence show?  Our judiciary should look at this.  I personally, called DPD after EYE assaulted by a Korean American, who told the clerks to leave so that when the police came, He would tell them I broke into the store. Call us racists if you want. These are not isolated incidents. We are not going to sit by and letbloggers call us racists and make US the instigators.  Just don't shop there, ME, A, the government by law gives them right  to enter into commerce in the interest of public safety, the government is going to make sure that we are safe and that they abide by the law. I did not see a sign WARNING--- ENTER ON YOUR OWN RISK  IN THESE STORES   You put your hands on me, you are going to jail

According to Arthur Carpenter, on December 23, 2011,two days after the protest began around 11 am, he ran out of gas,was given a ride to the Kwik Stop where he attempted to purchase gasoline in an unauthorized container  Allegedly, Pak and other South Dallas merchants had allowed such purchases in the past. Carpenter wasn't able to connect that Pak had to dot every I and cross every T with the protesters on his back. Carpenter was persistent, explaining  that it was an emergency.Pak,within his rights, demanded that Carpenter leave his store. Carpenter told Pak that his rudeness was the reason for the protest. Outside, Carpenter borrowed a container and returned inside the store. He handed the clerk  $3.00 for gasoline. Pak told him to use the inner pump closest to the store entrance. When Carpenter was attempting to get the gasoline, Pak exited the store and began yelling to Carpenter, I told you to get out my store. I don't want yo money and threw the money on the ground. (This same type of scenario is complained of  many blacks in South Dallas. The Korean that assaulted me, threw my briefcase outside the door, downtown Dallas on main street and the POOLEECE said" Well just don't shop there anymore!) A black police officer at CAPERS told us the same thing when we went filed the complaint Friday,March 23, 2012 90 days and no justice.) Pak then tazed Carpenter and then maced him while another unnamed clerk beat him with a baton.  Carpenter then began swinging the gas can to deflect the blows and Pak began to yell,"He's got a gun He's got a gun" and continued to beat the man until unconscious. The onlookers demanded that Pak stop and they then carried Carpenter to a church a block or two away. Pak called DPD and  filed a police report against an unnamed assailant for a Class C assault.  This Police Service Number is 333658Y. Pak told DPD that the suspect fled. Now If YOU call the police and tell them that someone assaulted you and that they fled. Don't you want the police to look around the block to see if the assailant is still in the vicinity. Carpenter was lying on the ground a block away with onlookers standing around him in full view of anybody that wanted to see. After Arthur Carpenter regained conscious he called 911 to file an aggravated assault charge against Tommy Pak.  Carpenter's  911 call sheet number is 11-2476532 and his complaint file number from Friday is 11-2477343 . Hopefully, the DMN and Jim Schultze will investigate the matter from  further from here because the legal process gets real scary here.. You will learn how the Wanna Be Crimeless City of Dallas wants these crimes covered up and the loopholes that allow merchants to get away.  I hope you wanna know why the others have kept quiet.

The NERVE of the Observer, worrying about wig shop patrons being  squeamish with talk of spy cameras and police-grade weaponry?  I want to know why DO didn't report about protesters ,customers, pedestrian and motorists  being scared of getting shot by Tommy Pak chasing thieves down main street on Martin Luther King Blvd when crime prevention standards dictate that retailers in high crime areas use a lock box ,keep little cash on hand, and resist robbery attempts.  Justice demands punishment equal to the crime. A human life for a cash register is not justice.

Ms. Crenshaw,

You commented that " In talking with Greg, I find him to be a young assimilated post racial African American who does not know his history and does not understand the black culture--- as is evident in this story."

You seem to be saying that "assimilated post racial African American" is a bad thing and that Greg should instead be clinging to his "roots", if you will.

You also point out that those "roots" are a history of oppression, manipulation and other offences.

It seems to me that you are falling into the trap that Bill Cosby speaks of often which he believes is holding back the black community from fully achieving their potential.  That is, belittling a man for not acting "black enough".

Am I misunderstanding your message here?

Not sniping here, just trying to understand the point you're making.  Your assertion is that injustice targeted at blacks in Dallas is racial.  However, in pointing out likely culprits (other than the DO, of course) responsible either for the injustice or for failing to stop the injustice, you name a "...black police chief, a black DA, a black state rep, a black state senator, and black council representatives, a black county commissioner, a black congressperson, black news reporters."I also do not understand the statement by Jeffery (Muhammad, I assume) that slave masters taught you to hate yourselves.  Which of you alive today was owned as a slave?  As a descendant of an Irish indentured servant (among a host of other nationalities), can I also claim that the 'owner' of my ancestor is also responsible for my lowly station in life and my not becoming rich/famous/fabulously successful?Lastly, you claim the DO has a 'history of denigrating black officials'.  Weren't you denigrating all those black officials up above, for failing to pull blacks out of the situation they're in?

This is totally stupid. Why in heck are you still shopping there. Use this energy to educate black women on  alternatives to wigs and weaves. Use this platform to educate young women the danger of applying glue to their  scalp. Start a community work shop to educate women how natural hair is far better than synthetic horse hair. Instead of  blasting Dallas O and its author about  "given an accurate account of the racism that African Americans face" you should spend this precious time re-educating  yourself and  black women about wigs and weaves. It makes you look cheap and fake. I know tons of black women who would never shop at those stores, more or less wear a dam wig. Further more, the reason you have to picket to get attention (not justice) is the fact that your cause is mute. If you want to picket, picket for a cause like the incident in Florida. Now that's a good reason to raise hell other than to spend time on a bunch of women who patronize folk that hate them.

If you were there reveal your name. Please educate yourself about Party Rules and the election code.  The ballots were reported to the elections department by the election Judge E. Ruth Steward. I never had access to the ballots. I left with sign in sheets of those who wished to attend the senatorial convention. Under the rules, Hillary did not have the threshold for delegates. The vote was 993 for Obama and 7 for Hillary. thus  no need to caucus for what ? All of the precinct delegates went to Obama.  The primary ballots went to the election department. The sign sheets were to be MAILED to the Democratic Party office no later than the following Thursday. There is no mail box at the Rec Center. have you not read my replies. This article is Greg Howard's spin, he did not write this from my press release. I did not advocate macing Koreans without provacation. I don't even advocate black women throw their wigs away, I advocate that ALL businesses conduct themselves in a legal manner. Pulling a wig off a person is provacative. It is legal to refuse to sell a customer a wig or a pressing comb. Ask the customer to give it back to the merchant. If they refuse and try to walk out the door, call the police for stealing it is illegalto snatch any thing. It is a crime to make physical contact with a person who finds the action offensive and provacative. The mace is to protect themselves from being pushed or beat up or shot in the back.  Concerned's beef with me is that they think I stole Obama ballots. Where is any evidence that I spewed any hatred at anybody. Why don't you reveal yourself. You sound like you have some deep rooted issues with me.  The Elections Department Administrator Tony Pippins at 214-819-6300 can affirm that all of the ballots were reported to the elections department around 7:48p.m. They enumerate all of the blank ballots(equal to the number of registered voters in the precinct that are  given to the election Judge and all ballots that were cast and the remaining ballots must match and must be turned in to the elections department or a sheriff will search for you.  The police illegally confiscated the sign in sheets from me around 11:30 p.m. that night based on the allegations of Obama supporters.  Ask the police department at 214-671-4500 what they took from me and the Party Chair Darlene Chair what I turned into her at the police station at 214-821-1331  Dwaine Caraway  reported all of this to the news media.

All of the conduct of the Obama voters at Precinct 3549 caught on video by the center's surveillance camers  and five 911 emergency calls because of the hysteria instigated by Caraway are available through open records at 214-670-4071.

ms crenshaw, i ain't tryin' to put a price on a human life, and i ain't got no knowledge of how this guy treats his customers, but, generally, if you are a store/business owner, you have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason/no reason. if someone is in your home or business trying to rob or steal you have a right to protect your property.i got too many friends of too many different colors to stick me with bein' a hateful prejudiced person. if this guy really don't like black folk i wonder why he keeps a stoere in a mostly black folks area. if the black folk that live in the neighborhood don't like him the best thing is stay out of his store an' off his property. vote with your $$$. buy his store. standin' out front hasslin' his customers, an' baitin' him...well he might jist snap....it is his store an' he may feel cornered there.  "and resist robbery attempts" i think that means be armed  an' be prepared to defend yourself?

Crenshaw, you're a crazy, lying, race-baiting opportunist looking for attention.

Many of us question if the struggle for integration was worth it.. During segregation when we were prohibited from shopping in white owned stores, we had our own businesses. We didn't steal because your mama knew the grocery store owner and if you did, you had an extended family or a neighbor that would beat you all the way home and you got another whupping when you got home. Our musicians wrote and black owned music producers beautiful love songs, spoke of peace and harmony while dressed with dignity. Even the blues gave hope. Now our children  listen to white produced  songs about violence calling women bitches and wanting quickies and oral sex when they cannot read or write.  Since integration, we now have our children working two and three jobs to get their children $200.00 tennis shoes, fake hair, fake nails, fake eyelashes, fake eye colors, braces, cell phones and  tight jeans with boodie licious across their buts inticing men at 9 years old while leaving them at home alone with a TV as the babysitter and not one book in the home. The only number the know is the pin to the food stamp card, where they don't know that $5.00 for a loaf of bread is price gouging. If you got pregnant in a black school, you had to go to the country, Here DISD lets them go to school with the other students where they walk around with their midriffs exposed, showing their bump, talking about which boy would make a pretty baby. Trevon would have never been shot, in a segregated neighborhood because everybody sits on the front porch and knows their neighbors  Do I blame the white people or the Koreans for this behavior. NO

The danger here with Greg is that we fought to have people that look like us to advocate and present our views. Brother Jeffery said we want the same thing you want, to own businesses. He never said the things that Greg quoted him as saying. It's all on You tube. We fought for black elected officials. They are corrupt and justify their offenses by telling us white people do it. We did not elect black people to do as white people, we fought for them to do right by us.  When the other black leaders blackballed Greg for writing for the Observer, I went from meeting to meeting arguing that we know that few blacks read the Observer, we can't even find it in the southern sector. If we don't tell Greg our views, the paper will write an agenda for us. This article does not represent my views. My issue is and has been that business establishments that do not adhere to crime prevention standards should not be allowed to do business in a crime ridden area. The law supports me in this regard. Each day for thirty days, I sent Greg of copies of letters I sent to all oversight agencies asking for an investigation into the conduct of these stores. All Greg wrote about is the N word and the divide between the NAACP and the other black groups.  Pulling a woman's wig off in public is offensive and PROVACATIVE and any black man that does that even in private knows HE will get the mess kicked out of him.  Ask a black woman what they would do if confronted with this treatment and they will tell you that at minimun, the merchant would get cussed out. These altercations happen regularly and the women who observe this behavior, just shrug it off and say "I wish he'd try to do me like that ! He got the right one! DPD says that the merchants have the right to retrieve their property, so all we can do is carry mace to protect ourselves.  If Greg was a responsible reporter, he would not make light of an explosive situation. I worked with an Iranian and he talked crazy to some black people and they picked him up and threw him into the trash dumpster. Pak taunts the protesters. Not good! He ran to one tribe, offered them money to go away. That's bribery. Not good!  Instead of apologizing the first place, the very next day he beat a man unconscious in broad daylight! In any other city, Pak would have not been able to walk into the store the next day.  When Davis sent code enforcement his way, He hollered official harassment. Then I filed on him, when all he had to do was clean up at least during the protest.   After Willie Reeves signed Paks petition to support him. He was seen talking to  the protesters asking them not to shut the store down because the people in the community needed the a store nearby, Pak had him arrested for criminal trespassing and he spent 6 days in jail. All our elected officials have to do is write a letter to TABC and document all of these indicators that PAK is too hot headed to do business here and his license will be revoked.  He is a danger to himself and a threat to others.

The DMN and Robert Ashley with KHVN chastisted Carolyn Davis and Ruth Steward for accusing these "foreigners" as they say in the hood for illegal activities. Why should Carolyn apologize for these statements when we live in the hood, we know where to look for our stolen items. we know where our relatives buy their drugs, where they gamble. When  goods are pawned at a Pawn Shop, they are regulated and have to write down the TDL of the seller. These stores are not regulated.  It's a world that one almost has to live in to understand it. After the 2008 debacle where the media displayed a reckless disregard for the truth and reported that I stole Obama ballots, you the hostility that Realist and concerned have for me based.   We and especially EYE had hoped that the DO would hire someone who could at least shed some light on our plight.  Wishful thinking.

You darn tooting that I was denigrating the black elected officials, not FOR the injustice but for failing to address the issues of the protest from a legal perspective. I am not about blame. It's called accountability for me. That's a voter''s responsibility. We put them in and we should take them out, if they can't stand up for us.

Senate Bill 278 the Castle Doctrine passed 30-1 in the Texas legislature. What did our black senators go on record to say. The black police chief feels that beating someone unconscious or shoving a person is reasonable force, his department filed an assault charge on Arthur Carpenter who was beaten and maced by PAK.  Greg Howard knows the whole story.  The DA's office said. Just don't shop there. The black police officers, black elected representatives response was  the same thing Don't SHOP There. WHAT FOOOL NEEDS TO BE TOLD----- NOT TO SHOP SOMEWHERE AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ASSAULTED.  ALL businesses are required to meet certain health and public safety standards and when they do not, our government is to enforce the law. NOT TELL MEEEE TO NOT SHOP THERE, -------TELL THE MERCHANT THAT HE IS VIOLATING THE LAWS AND PUNISH, FILE, ARREST HIM WHEN HE VIOLATED THE LAW.  When merchants have GOVERNMENT authority to do business with the public---- that implies that SAID establishment is safe and healthy to shop there.   What myself and the protesters are trying to do is inform the public that even though the government has given these establishments the authority to do business,  THE KOREAN MERCHANTS do not adhere to the health and public safety crime prevention STANDARDS set by law. Why should I have to pick up a picket stick to ask  State Representative Eric Johnson who is a personal injury attorney to run the crime statistics on Kwik Stop, get the police reports, investigate the allegations of a Korean shooting the man in the back, review Kwik Stops TABC violations and help get a personal injury attorney for one of his constiuients. DID you know that if a state representative writes the TABC and makes it known of the his constiuients complaints  that TABC can revoke Paks beer and wine permit. Better yet, Johnson or West, Price, Rawlings, Davis or EBJ can ask for an administrative hearing and direct TABC to conduct an investigation into our concerns  Your state representative knows that because TABC notifies each senator and state representative of their application and at which time, the rep can give comment about the owner's standing. I ask John Cornyn's office and the DOJ  to step in. WARNING: SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK, THE POLICE AND BLACK GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS WILL NOT PROTECT YOU UNLESS YOU LOSE YOUR LIFE. THEN THEY WILL RUN OVER EACH OTHER TO GET NATIONAL PRESS.

Why should blacks look for alternatives to wigs and weaves if they want to buy them. Why can't the Korean wig shop owners refrain from mistreatment.

WHAT FOOOL NEEDS TO BE TOLD----- NOT TO SHOP SOMEWHERE AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ASSAULTED.

Part of my platform is to appeal to the government that warning signs be place on the glue bottles. Why should we have to wait until one of us is dead from the violence in order to get justice. Assaulting people is a crime.

As for the DO, Use this energy to educate black women on  alternatives to wigs and weaves. Use this platform to educate young women the danger of applying glue to their  scalp. I use the media like they use it to negatively portray blacks and other folks who are not mainstream

Be sure to bring the crime stats to the TABC's attention when other licensed alcohol retailers in the area have their licenses brought up for renewal.

I don't know about the election stuff but I do believe people have a right to defend their business and property.  If the guy wasn't trying to rob the store in the first place, he would NOT have gotten shot.  He was an ex-con with an extensive criminal record.  What does "invest in crime prevention methods" even mean? If you don't like koreans or indians or whoever, where are the black owned businesses willing to open up in these neighborhoods?  Why are you and these so called "activists" so concerned with the korean owned businesses while the drug market down the street is ignored and allowed to operate with no problem from the south Dallas "leaders"?  Do something about that first.

What IS your problem?  you can't even give me one iota of evidence that I am race baiting. If you are concerned about the costs of justice, tell the Korean store owners to stop taking the law into their own hands call 911 and invest in crime prevention methods.A human life is not worth a cash register.

Crenshaw, you're a crazy, lying, race-baiting opportunist who has and will do anything for attention - a true attention whore. You are indeed a buffoon, further making yourself an object of ridicule, scorn, and contempt every time you spew your hateful, impenetrable, bigoted drivel.

What ticks me off is the cost in time and money to the justice system, such as it is, who must delegate someone to read through your dense fog of conspiracy theories. I'm sure by now the Dept. of Justice has a standard response letter with your name on it, in the Nuts folder.

And with that, I'm off to enjoy a beautiful afternoon - drool on, Crenshaw.

3 people like an anonymous person calling a public figure names on a blog?

Wow.

That is a new low even for the Observer.

You are entitled to your opinion. What is your problem. Did you get the police reports. Did you review the video of the interview.  Ask Greg to scan the reports onto the blogs tommorow.

Sandra, as a white guy I'm willing to accept all the blame for disco, easy listening, heavy metal and pop country, but there's no way I should be blamed for rap music. That one's on you and yours...

That certainly makes sense and I can see why you would be frustrated.  Thank you for clarifying.
