"It's Getting Rather Messy": The Best of the Rick Perry Facebook Bomb

Rick Perry_fbbomb.png
Over at the Morning News' Trail Blazers Blog, Christy Hoppe pointed out late yesterday that Rick Perry's Facebook page has been "inundated by angry women" unhappy about the end of the Medicaid Women's Health Program.

Perry's Facebook bomb is actually part of a larger effort to "sarcasm-flood" the pages of politicians who are currently pushing anti-abortion or anti-women's health measures. Kansas Governor Sam Brownback has indicated his support for a particularly broad anti-abortion bill, one that would, among other things, give obstetricians the legal ability to lie to their patients about fetal abnormalities. Alternet posted some screenshots of some of the best, funniest, saddest, and most disgusting ones on Brownback's page ("How much discharge is too much discharge?").

Many of the attacks on Perry have been removed, and wall-writing was temporarily disabled (though it's since been turned back on), but here are few of the best bombs still standing.

Dear Mr. Perry,

I recently discovered that I have not one but three fallopian tubes on each side. Does this make me a saint? Also, my periods have been coming more frequently lately -- is this a sign from God that I should have twice as many babies, or is it just a food intolerance?

Dear Rick. I'm a dude, but I want to experience the joy of menstrual cramps just like women do. Will looking at your picture be painful enough, or do I have to think you go elected President to feel the same level of discomfort? Just curious.
Dear Rick Perry - Where do I send my used tampons so any viable eggs can be harvested? Thanks.
Dear Mr. Perry,

What should I do with all these unfertilized eggs? My body gets rid of one every month or so, and I just don't know what to do with them. I'm sure it wasn't natural selection that made this the easiest way to keep me fertile 24/7.

Please respond soon. It's getting rather messy.

Mr. Perry, I am writing because I have been feeling incredibly guilty recently for having a uterus. Your solution seems to be handing it over to stronger and wiser men. Is there a clinic where I can get a hysterectomy and just mail you my uterus directly? Thanks in advance!
Dear Rick,

I am a Canadian. I don't know you, but I heard you're the man when it comes to yeast infection advice?? I am suffering from blue waffle syndrome. Please help. Thanks! xx

I've been using the pill for over 6 years since I became sexually active with the man who is now my husband. Not having children has allowed us to continue our educations, start our careers, and travel. Since I have denied about 72 eggs their chance to become human beings, can you tell me what level of Hell I am destined for? I just want to be prepared. Thanks.

I have to say that writing snarky things on Rick Perry's Facebook wall is a hobby I will sorely miss.

Not only has the admin on the page carefully deleted any comment like the ones above, but they've disabled the wall and commenting. They carefully censored it so that only supporters' comments were left, threw in a few nasty comments of their own (for instance, suggesting that yesterday's posters, of which I was one, get a job), and then made it impossible for anyone to respond. Cowards.

A Texas woman goes to the gynecologist complaining of a pain. The woman is examined and the doctor say, "I see the problem, you have a Republican in your vagina!"

Too bad Rick Perry's mother didn't use birth control!

I recently found a lump on one of my testicle. I currently don't have health insurance so I guess I will just run on down to the office of the free Men's Health Program and get myself taken care of, wait a minute....that doesn't exist. There must be a war on men going on in this country.

We are all free to comment on Rick's wall just as long as he approves it.   Perhaps what needs to be posted are the Doonsbury cartoons of last week.  I sent them to my state represenative Stephanie Carter and Senator (who is not running again) Florance Shapero but I bet they closed thier eyes to them.   Vote them all out who are responsible for this.

This started on Thursday, when you could comment on his page in the "everyone" section. None of his people even noticed or read comments until Monday, when they disabled option. Tells you how much they care about what Texas citizens have to say...People then took to commenting on what Perry had posted.

Has anyone ever asked Mrs Goodhair what birth controll she used back in the day and if insurance ever paid for it?

Perhaps Rick should pull funding for internet connections because he doesn't like some feedback he's getting. It'd be par for the course with him.

Is Anna Merlan really short?  Because she always seems to pick the low-hanging fruit.

If we had more Republicans like Ron Paul, political discussion could get back on course and the lazy media would have to dig a little deeper instead of going for cheap strawman attacks.

Looks as if Li'l Ricky's web staff have gone in and cleaned up his Wall ...

ABSOLUTELY!  I just wrote that email to JIM PITTS... my long time Representative. Please, even tho' I love to read the funny and meaningful comments, the real fight is against their actions at present, and a fulfilled promise to work for and support the Democrat that is running against them.

If we had more Republicans like Ron Paul, then we would already be in total anarchy and violent civil war.

Mickister:  Ron Paul is just as insulting to women as Rick Perry... just older and worse hair.  So we don't consider this "cheap strawman attacks".  It is central to our lives and rights.. So maybe unless you intend to have a sex change you should let us decide what is important in politics to us.

Why not take whats offered when it is presented on a silver platter ?

All hail St Paul, who would only keep the fed out of our business. But allow states (like Texas) to do whatever the hell they want.

"... Hey, we can't really be dumb if we're just following god's orders. Well let's get serious, god knows what he's doin'. He wrote this book here and the book says, 'He made us all to be just like him'. So, if we're dumb, then god is dumb and maybe even a little ugly on the side...  ' Francis Vincent Zappa, Philosopher/PoetDecember 21, 1940 – December 4, 1993

What What Planned parenthood doing something good lol Just one of the things ppl never mention We can't label an organization bad just because it does one thing or a few things we don't approve of  In life we must take the bad with the good and pray the good outweighs the bad. For example the word Liberal most people now days think it means something bad but if I were going to give you a million dollars would you want me to be Liberal about it? Or maybe Conservative and only give you a dollar at a time??? One word is not sufficient to describe all politicians anymore. I wish  Americans would wake up open their dictionaries once in a while and see that what politicians label people or words isn't always what it really is What happened to the old saying Live and Let Live???? Planned Parenthood appears to do more good than harm Some people would never go there because in the past they have offered abortion advice. What would most people think about their foreign doctors if they knew what they truly believed. And speaking of doctors  Why aren't kids now days going to be doctors???? We should never have to rely on Indian  Pakistan or china for medicine men and women when we have all we need being shut out of medical school If people saw where these people come from and where they send every dime they make back to so they can be rich when they go back there to live But hey that would mean people would have to ask questions of their doctors and people would have to think a bit to realize they work for us when we go to see them and we have a RIGHT to ask questions and to know if they graduated top of their class or just barely eeeked by Just because someone has dr behind their name doesn't make them GOD Last I saw they are human just like us Liable to mistakes Just like us Not perfect Just like us so when someone disagrees with us instead oif getting on a high horse and feeling superior maybe we should open our mind and ask a few questions I was taught if I didn't know something I should ask Does no one t6each their children to be inquisitive anymore Sorry I got off topic a bit but it sparked my thots LOL

I re-checked my post.  I couldn't find anywhere that I said women couldn't decide what is important to them in politics.

I allow women, including you, Paula to decide what you want to think is important -- even when you decide to invent facts to support your positions.

How's this for strawmen?:

"...It's academic to talk about civil liberties if you don't talk about the true protection of all life. So if you're going to protect liberty, you have to protect the life of the unborn just as well. I have a bill in Congress ["Sanctity of Life Act of 2007"] which I certainly would promote and push as president...and what it would do is establish the principle that life begins at conception."

- Ron Paul (aka. Another man imposing his laws on women's bodies)

Thank you for "allowing" us to decide what we think is important. How would we ever survive without you, Mickister? Tell us more about how you "allow" the women in your life the freedom to think for themselves...and more to the point, tell us about how much more superior you are to us because of your fundamental understanding of the real problems our nation faces regarding our over reliance on fiat money. Us women love that. I'm guessing the ladies are knocking down your door with all that manly authoritarian machismo you carry around. Is it hard to be you?
