Run, Juanito, run. ...
The Sheriff's Department sent over a boatload (heh) of photos from this morning's flooding at the Frank Crowley Courthouse, plus a mugshot of Juan Ramires, a jail trusty called in to join the mop-and-bucket brigade when a busted water main filled the courthouse's first floor with 1 to 3 inches of water. (The courthouse was evacuated and is closed to the public Friday.)

Ramires, who was being held on a misdemeanor charge of failure to ID, booked it out a side door in the confusion caused by the flooding, which makes him either very lucky or very dumb. (He faced a misdemeanor. Now he's an escapee. Unless he can run really fast, we're thinking dumb.)

Sheriff's PIO Raul Reyna sent more deets in a press release below. The upshot is that the any of you who faced jury duty in criminal court tomorrow is, indeed, a lucky bastard, especially if your boss doesn't know the difference between civil and criminal court.

The Frank Crowley Criminal Courts Building will be closed to the public on Friday, March 9,2 012. This closure does NOT affect the George Allen Civil Courts Building and Lew Sterrett Complex. Anyone with Jury Duty at those locations is still to report at those facilities for jury duty. These facilities will remain open. Public access to the Frank Crowley Criminal Courts Building is expected to return on Monday, March 12, 2012.

The Sheriff's Department Essential Personnel will still report to their stations.

Status Update:

I don't see Holy Moses at the Saints games anymore. Did something happen to him? This is the best season the Saints ever had.I miss seeing him at the games.
