The Best Thing About Having a Kardashian in Town: People Now Know Where City Hall Is

• The bottom line is that she did not choose her dad nor her sisters. She has taken her family situation and is using it to her advantage while she can. She did not dumb down America. If people will stand in line to take a look at her,(without the toys) than who is really flighty. She has been in Dallas a week and  generated toys that otherwise would have stayed on the store shelves. Hell I say let push her to run for the county commissioner.

• If people were so darned concerned about the kids, they would have given to WFAA's Toy Drive all last week, or to the Toys for Tots, or the Salvation Army Angel tree. She could have asked peple to bring dental floss or oil change kits, and they would have complied, because they were NOT there "for the kids," they were there for her. Yes, good, wonderful, kids are getting presents. The point is, these people were lined up to see a woman who has done NOTHING in her young life worthy of all this attention. Her dad was a lawyer who got OJ free, her sister made a sex tape, and her mother can't get past the letter K for girls. The Kardahsians have parlayed their lack of talent into an empire, because enough people are literally dumb enough to care about the rich kids of a lawyer. Dallas is not LA. It isn't going to last long for her, before she is completely bored. You wait and see.

• she is married to someone who will play for the Mavs, so there's that for starters. you also don't get to choose who is a celebrity and who is not. by any reasonable definition of the term, she is one. why isn't particularly relevant to the discussion. she is a celebrity who moved to Dallas and whose husband will play for a Dallas sports team. tell me again why we're hating on someone who is raising money for charity? I respect your personal dedication and desire to enjoy your self-satisfaction on your own, but it's also the case that causes taken up by celebrities receive more donations. does it make them smug? I don't know. probably. but at the end of the day if the charity gets more money then who the hell cares whether this person is "supposed" to be a celebrity or what they have to do with Dallas? stop being self-righteous for its own sake.

• A lady from Childrens Medical Center was thanking the Kardashian for making this contribution to their institution. That alone deserves my respect of her action. For someone who is so "hollier than thou", you sure sound like that "whole class of people who are quick to judge and scream and condemn". Hugs back to you.

• Juan, (or whomever), you obviously need a hug. Consider it done! I hope you feel better.  FYI, I volunteer at my church, collect Toys for Tots, and  all year around I  collect supplies for HIV-Aids folks who can't use food stamps for personal stuff like razors and deodorant and detergent. You know: the basics. I don't feel any need to go into any more detail. I'm from the old school: we believe that the Good Lord gave us elbows so that we can't pat ourselves on the back. Maybe the Kardashian could take the cue. You asked if I've ever volunteered for some special cause. My "special cause" was 3 years in Africa, teaching young women to read and write. Does that qualify? Seems to me that the celebrity culture has created a whole class of people who are quick to judge and scream and condemn, without knowing any facts. You may be one, and, if so, you are in serious need of introspection.  I sincerely want to know why a Kardashian is important to Dallas. Your flippant response did nothing to inform me. • Shouldn't there be like 10 comments here about homeless people urinating on people in line? Or at least in their vicinity?

• At least shes doing something positive with her "celebrity" status in a city she practically has been living for a week. WTF have you done granny for needy people lately? Some people bitch about everything. Have you volunteered time for some special cause? How much do you give during xmas to needy people? Haterville, TX !!

• It's great to know that everyone knows about Dallas. Now, will someone please tell me who Kardashian is? Why is she famous? Why is she important to Dallas? Honestly, I DO NOT get this scene. At all.

• Can we have the Kardashian machine do something at (or near) City Hall on election day? We MIGHT be able to convince the people in line to vote after they get the signatures if we can make it worth their while. perpetuating democracy apparently isn't a good enough reason. aside from the whole people actually voting thing, I would love the havoc it would put on the business model of the political consultants.

• I don't watch the show and never will but she does seem the realest and for having only been in town less than week (and being forced to move at that) she seems like she's really trying to make Dallas proud. I wish more Celebs would put on for their City like this, and if it brings them more fame and attention, I'm fine with that. 

• Khloe is my fav Kardashian.  She seems so settled.  The others seem flighty.
