You Should Avoid Oak Lawn Ave. at the Moment

If you're planning on traversing Oak Lawn somewhere between Cedar Springs and Maple, don't. Pictured above is the sedan that plowed into a utility pole not long ago. As I just discovered during the drive into the office, Dallas Police have a huge swath of Oak Lawn completely cordoned off, and a utility crew's just now pulling in for repairs. We put in a call to see if anyone was injured.

This accident happened right in front of my eyes, literally! I was going the oposite direction heading towards 35 and BAM! Sparks flew everywhere, i thought the powerlines were gonna fall on my car, thankfull they didnt but talk about a wake up call! For a sec it looked like the pole behind it was going to be pulled down as well but it held up just fine after it showered the street with sparks. The guy had a bloody nose but was standing up and talking by the time we drove away. Talk about a sureal start to my day!

Wow.  He (or maybe she...) must have been moving, those poles aren't exactly weak, and that thing sheared off nice.

Oh god, if this isn't cleaned up by 5:30 or so I might cut someone trying to get home. Any minor distrubance in traffic on Oak Lawn around there tends to make it a complete nightmare getting from 35 to anywhere in Uptown or Oak Lawn.

I'm guessing no cell phones were involved?

People just don't understand energy. a Car driving at 55 mph can do the same damage as one that was pushed off of a 100 foot tall building.

I could swear your comment was heading in the "...I might cut someone if I can't get to JRs for happy hour".

Because I sure would.
