Today, a Temporary Better Bridge. Then, On Monday, a Temporary Better Downtown.

| A very vague sneak at what's in store for downtown Monday evening |
And while we're on the subject of temporary installations intended to hint at the 'round-the-corner future, this just in: On Monday at 4:30 p.m. you're invited to the Dallas Power and Light building's Pegasus Ballroom for what's being billed as a community forum regarding the Downtown Dallas 360 plan, adopted by the council in April and not yet forgotten about. But that's not all: Just before Roger Staubach tosses Kenny Rogers the first pitch of Game 5 of the World Series, and Demi Lovato fires up "The Star-Spangled Banner," you're invited to "enjoy an activation installation at Browder Plaza that will serve as a visual example of the type of changes called for in the 360 plan."
Says the invite for the Monday-at-5:30 p.m. voilà: "Enjoy food, beverage, entertainment and a special unveiling from Downtown Dallas Inc." Further details here promise that the installation will include "'glass boxes,' street vending, outdoor dining, artists, music." What, no mimes? No Ferris wheel? Shame.
