Locked Out at Lost Society, Again (Update: Owner in Rockwall Jail for Meth Possession)

Categories: City Hall, Crime

And now we return to the city's enforcement of the Lower Greenville Planned Development District Ordinance, which, as you no doubt recall, went into effect at midnight September 24 and says any venue without a specific use permit and a new certificate of occupancy has to close its doors at midnight or else. So happens that the night the ordinance went live, code enforcement officers and Dallas Police officers, accompanied by Assistant City Attorney Melissa Miles, paid a visit to Lost Society, which had intended to stay open even without the SUP.

Owner Fernando Rosales -- who you may recall from this arresting episode in June 2010 -- met them at the door and showed them a lawsuit he said he'd filed against the city; he insisted he had a temporary injunction allowing him to stay open. Problem was, the case hadn't gone before a judge after all -- and appears never to have even been filed. (As opposed to Yucatan and Service Bar's pending legal action, which goes before a judge Monday.) Which is why, earlier this week, the City Attorney's Office had planned to file suit against Lost Society for violating the ordinance.

But sources say that on Tuesday, the club was raided by law enforcement officials. Originally we were told Drug Enforcement Administration officials went in, but the DEA denies that. Dallas Police Department and Dallas County Sheriff's Department officials also say: Not us. The city is still trying to determine who was responsible for the raid.

Nevertheless, Miles tells Unfair Park that her office "learned of something happening with the authorities [Tuesday], when I called [landlord] Roger Andres to conference with him and let him know we were filing a lawsuit against his corporate entity, which owns the property, and Lost Society. Fortunately the authorities' actions and those of the property owner have, for the moment, obviated the need for a lawsuit."

The lock-out notice you see above was posted this week -- by Andres Properties, which says Rosales is behind on rent. Roger and Marc Andres tried to kick out Rosales last year, following his arrest for filing a false application with the TABC, but Rosales found a judge to let him back in.

Update at 4:22 p.m.: There's a reason Lost Society's owner was unavailable for comment: Rosales is being held in the Rockwall County Jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Jail officials tell Unfair Park he allegedly had more than 400 grams of methamphetamine, and is being held on $250,000 bond.

Avi Adelman is a chump. I was chilling at GAPC eating a slice when I saw his troll looking ass for the first time. Imagine some stumpy grey haired gremlin with a camera larger than he is, pissed off at the world because he probably got picked on for being such a foul creature, reporting the "news."

His website BarkingDogs.org claims that "Every neighborhood needs a few Barking Dogs" however, he leaves no room for anyone to comment. I guess everyone needs an Avi Adelman dog. Take a look at his ridiculous wordpress based website, I think he has a hard-on for Fernando. He also capitalized "Barking Dogs" in his slogan, are you kidding dude? Last time I checked barking dogs were not a proper noun, nor is your shitty website focusing on the innards of Fernando Rosales asshole.

Why are you hating on the guy? He is supplying the same drugs that keep you up all night taking shitty photos and reporting ignorant shit. You should be sad at the fact that you have to find a new drug dealer.

As a matter-of-fact, I was watching the Mavericks game eating my pizza and I looked over and saw this foul being they dubbed "Avi Adelman" and thought wow, look at that huge camera. The fact was the camera was the size of a normal camera, but he was just so small.  Anyhow, there was an African American man hanging out EATING a pizza, who draws portraits on Greenville Avenue if you know him, just chilling watching the game a table in front of Avi. When Avi's white pride could not take anymore he finally told the nice man that he was "black" and shouldn't be in front of the t.v. Won't say the exact words, but you get my drift. I didn't know he was AVI ADELMAN at the time and thought, this guy is a douche. Turns out I went home googled "avi adelman" in images and after several pages down BAM there he was... I couldn't believe it. I sat next to this goblin at GAPC. I don't even think he ate anything, I think he was just there to use up GAPC's beautiful tv to watch the game. What a cum guzzler.

Also how do you pronounce Avi? Ah-Vee? A-V? STU-pID-As-FUC-k? This guy claims journalism, but he would be more appreciated at the inquirer.

Anyhow, I'll leave it to that before I go into a tangent. Enjoy your days good sirs.

Update at 3 p.m. Friday from Barking Dogs

The Rockwall Police Department confirms its officers were the mystery agency that raided Lost Society on Tuesday afternoon.

The warrant was signed by a Dallas County judge using information obtained during the inspection of Rosales' vehicle after they arrested him Tuesday morning and found >400g of methamphetamine in his vehicle.

The guys that should be behind bars are Avi Adelman and Robert Wilonsky. Get a real job and contribute to the economy crisis. I understand you all are ugly and have nothing going for yourselves. Please don't try to make yourselves feel better by indulging on someone else's misery.

It should be a crime to portray yourself as a journalist with no damn education at all. Correction, no real education. I speak for everyone, GET A LIFE.

If there's one thing Breaking Bad has taught me, it's that 400 grams of methamphetamine ain't shit. That, and don't trust the elderly because they may be hiding a carbomb in their wheelchair.

Obviously someone has a hard-on for Avi. Fernando, when did you get out of jail????

That's not even legal. It sounds like a great case to uphold the 4th amendment. I am pretty certain there was no probable cause. I have volunteered to pay for Fernando's attorney fees. This will be a great case to go on my books.

What the hell are you going on about?  This is schtick, right?

What kind of logic shows that Avi and Robert should be in jail?"Economy" crisis?Ugly???Education?  I ain't even got no education and I know that "economic" was the adjective you was lookin' for to go with the noun "crisis".

And, how the hell did Avi get pulled into this discussion anyway?  I'll be the first one to give him a hard time around these parts but from I know there is no reason he needs to be in jail.  Seems to me you might be a little close to what is going on down there and have some resentment.  Former bartender?  Club manager?  Resent the man for the facts of his stance not for your form of batshittery cray cray...

two people liked this? How is Rosales helping the economy? Looks like Rosales was always acting in his best interest. If you have information to the contrary, I'm sure anyone here that read this article is open to listening.

Let's see if I understand this statement...

Rosales gets arrested for possession of a controlled substance in an amount larger than 400g (or almost a pound), a felony. In some states, and I think Texas is one, that would be considered an amount large enough to merit an indictment for transporting a controlled substance for the purpose of selling it (street value at about $10,000).

And you think Robert and I are the criminals? Let Rosales have his day in court, but until then there is no crime in reporting the news. And damn, this IS news.

I fail to see the 'misery' in this matter. Unless Rosales is claiming someone put the meth in his car while he made a bathroom stop in Rockwall, the only misery created is self-inflicted.

As to education and life, I have a degree in Journalism and Public Relations, but Robert's 20+ years of amazing experience and writing are something I can only aspire to achieve. I bow to the master in great awe.

I think your issue is simple: If it does not affect your life directly, then we are allowed - by your grace and blessing - to write about it.

If the issue is one that you do not wish to see discussed, then we are forbidden to even utter the words from the police report, let alone see the report.

Why, dare I ask, do you have such a big stick up your ass over this news and our reporting of said news???

I am signing my name and email addy here. Let's see you come out from behind that wall of protective anonymity and do the same.

Technically, selling illegal drugs is great for the economy.

It's literally the only thing keeping the State of California afloat nowadays...

Rooster, I don't like it but I agree with you 100 percent. This would not be the USA without illegal drug money.

Paul
Paul

It doesn't do anything for the deficit as taxes are not paid on the sales, there is no excise tax on the product and a great deal of money is spent investigating, arresting, prosecuting and incarcerating those who sell illegal drugs.

If we were to remove the prohibitions and tax the H3!! out it, we could probably get rid of the income tax.

About 12 years ago, the owner of a club on the corner at Sears and Greenville (can't remember the name now) was arrested for possession of (I think) crack cocaine. The club soon closed, then there was an attempt to reopen and get the TABC license back, both of which failed.
