Lawsuit: Vince Young's '10 Strip Club Dust-Up Over $8,000 in Ones He Needed, Couldn't Get

Categories: Legal Battles

Maybe you remember: Back in June of last year, Vince Young -- former Longhorn great, current Eagles not-great -- got into it with a gentleman named Creiton Kinchen at the strip club Onyx off of Northwest Highway. At the time, story was Young didn't take kindly to Kinchen's flashing him the upside-down "Hook 'Em Horns." A scuffle ensued in the wee small hours of a Sunday morning, and the QB got himself a misdemeanor citation courtesy the Dallas Police Department.

Well, today we find out the rest of the story ... allegedly. And it's so much better than originally told.

This morning, Kinchen went down to the Dallas County courthouse and filed suit against the Houston native. Kinchen's suing Young for assault with a deadly weapon ("fist and feet"), and wants unspecified damages for injuries he says he suffered, as well as "mental anguish in the past and in the present." But his suit mentions nothing about his insulting Young. Instead, writes Kinchen's San Antonio-based attorney, this was all on the QB.

Says Kinchen, on July 12, he was at Club Onyx, where he serves as "a manager with varied responsibilities," when Young came up to him. Says the suit:
Creiton was working minding his own business in the "cage" area dealing with an employee on credit card issues, when suddenly and without provocation, an intoxicated Vince Young began cursing and making derogatory remarks to Creiton because Creiton refused to sell Vince Young $8,000 (Eight thousand dollars) in $1.00 (One dollar denominations) using Vince Young's credit card. It was Vince Young intention to use the $1.00 bills to tip and throw money at the dancers who would entertain him and his party that evening.
And that's when it got ugly. Because nobody likes a rain delay, especially Vince Young, who's been known to make it pour. Jump for the whole suit. Creiton Kinchen v Vince Young

damn....a star quarterback making millions of dollars and the best he can tip with is $1 bills? he may be a great quarterback but he's a cheap punk ass bitch of a strip club attendee. Shit man, I don't make anywhere near that amount of money and even I busted out with the $5 bills when I went to one-guy sounds like a tightwad. Even tightly bundled, 8, 000 $1 bills is like a small grocery bag full of cash.  what was he going to do with the bricks of cash, build a little fort to invite the strippers into? what a douchebag. Somebody needs to tell this clown that stacks of money will still not get you sex in the champagne room!

Kinchen should be fired immediately.  His JOB is to get intoxicated fools to throw money at the ho'bitches so the club management can get it back thru fines, fees, and unearned tips to other club workers.  So what if a drunken lout insults him and punches him around, it's in his job description.  Mr Young is the ideal strip club patron, stupid, rich and a fool.  Besides, all strip club management are predators who plot and plan through their shifts about how to separate the ho'bitches and the patrons from their money.  They all got a thumping coming at least once per night.

All I understand about this case is that there's a guy whose name is dangerously close to "cretin."

It's cases like this that make lawyers one notch below dung beetles on the evolutionary scale....

What is it with people with millions of dollars that live like Jethro on the Beverly Hillbillies?  Why are you even in a strip club?  Losers go to strip clubs and get into bar fights.  People with multi-million dollar payrolls go elsewhere like home.  For $8,000 dollars you can have dancers come to your place and you can drink your own alcohol.  $1 tips?  Come on man!  What did he want to do:  set up stacks of ones in front of him to entice dancers over to the big spender?  Between Vince and Most Eligible Matt, not a good month for UT Austin QBs.

It's called a 6 figure settlement.  Payday time for the lawyers.  The attorney's fees make it too costly for Vince Young to fight this.  Mr. Young, as your attorney, may I suggest we end this quickly and without the press. We get Mr. Creiton "My Back and My Neck" Kinchen to sign this non-disclosure agreement and give him an undisclosed amount of money to make this go away.  The attorney who represents Mr. Kinchen will advise his client to take the deal because you never know what can happen at trial and your case is crap shoot at best.  Both atterneys want the deal because they make more money and no actual work will have to be done. Both parties are happy.  This case is not the truth and it is not going to bring justice.

Wait a minute ... he supposedly shows up already intoxicated .... I hope that they didn't serve him as the TABC will have a field day with that one ....  can't wait for the cross on that one ... Mr. Kinchen, did you or any employees or contractors or any authorized personnel serve any alcholic drinks to Mr. Young? yes or no ...

Intentional infliction of emotion distress? Really? Had to go all the way to San Antonio to find someone to file this one.

Good luck with all that before the Honorable Parker.

yeah so they can alleged RAPE!! Im sure this strip club is not the one where the losers and drunks hang.

I'd say VY should fight it. It's the principle of it, this guy going after him looking for a big payout. As the "manager" of the club, provoking a patron, whether it's a horns down or giving them the finger, you're inciting someone and you're the responsible person onsite? This thing will get dismissed.

That would also mean #10 drove to the place intoxicated?  I also doubt the manager filing the suit was handling the drinks if he was in the cage working on receipts.

Mike

The dancers come with management.  It's not like ordering in hookers.  And yes, if you are tipping in ones, that is where the losers and drunks hang.

ScottsMerkin

It doesnt mean he drove anywhere. did someone drive him, or did he take a cab, or did he have a limo?  doesnt matter if he served the drinks or not, if he is the acting manager he is still responsible

Paul

the key word is "manager" and there are TABC regulations against serving people who are already intoxicated ... ask anyone who as taken the TABC course ...

You do bring up a good point about how he got there.  If he was already intoxicated, then where had he been served previously ...

Nathaniel Wilson

Actually that sound exactly like ordering hookers!!! Instead of loser and drunks, I should have said a low class low budget hole the wall std factories.
