The Downtown Omni, It's Alive!

The light show arrived well before last night's rains showed up and stuck around long after they'd headed south -- enough time for our old friend Justin Terveen, who makes this city look beautiful, to snap this photo of the skyline, now partially obscured by the soon-to-open Omni Hotel. One in a series, including the Statler Hilton, the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge and Fair Park.

Photography is an artform - whether it is a poignant portrait, a delightful scene, a cityscape or the power of mother nature.  Each person is moved by different visuals.  For me, personally, I find that Justin's consistent eye for the visually stimulating, coupled with his technical abilities to capture it to share with us, is a fairly rare talent.

Chuck G - don't be a hater - just shows the world how small your mind is, if you don't like something then move on - nothing for you to see here.  Your loss.

I want to live in Justin Terveen's Dallas. It's so much prettier than the real one.

It takes a thunderstorm to make this city look halfway attractive. Sad.

Very Ghostbusters-y.

Where's Gene Wilder when you need him?

Sorry Charlie. Your lame attempt at sounding like an intellectual falls flat. Anyone can take a camera out during a thunderstorm and take snapshots of lightning you moron. You are quite easily impressed upon obviously. Travel the west a little bit and discover some real beauty. And good luck getting your basic classes completed at the local community college.

Justin Terveen takes amazing photos of Dallas literally all the fuckin' time, dude.

Very Ghostbusters-y indeed because it looks completely fake.

Where's Dan Akroyd or Rick Moranis when you need him?

Your attempt at sounding like the worthless piece of garbage that you are was a success!!!!

Some people enjoy finding beauty right where they are, and if you can't, too bad.

You're all talk, Chuck. Cheap insults and snark, which is easy. Anyone can be an asshole in the comments section of a blog. Your comments aren't even original.....just run of the mill snark and shitty insults directed at total strangers. You are what is known as an internet sociopath.

Still waiting for you to point us to your creative output.

Dallasites may be easily impressed, but we're not impressed by you or your opinions.

Try it sometime Chucky.  I've heard that if you hold a long metal rod in the air it will improve the quality of the picture, too.

I-30, I-20, I-45 or I-35 take your pick.  All them will get you the fuck out of here.

Have fun and you're welcome.

"He needs to be just a bit more creative"..........so, what would that look like? Share with us your thoughts on creativity. In fact, point us to some of YOUR CREATIVE OUTPUT.Put it on the line for us to judge. Step out from your anonymity, Chuck, and if you don't have any creative output, than say so.

"Travis, I'm sorry that you are so not well-traveled and haven't ventured outside of N. Texas much in your life. ".....amazing.......you can tell where a person has travelled from a post in a comments section?  Where did you get this amazing ability?Does being a snarky piece of shit give you some kind of pleasure? Is your life so horrible that you need to make degrading comments to other people?

I'd rather look at a picture of dogshit than listen to your negative, cynical blather you coward.

Ok, I see downtown every day from my office window. Seeing it again on a frame doesnt do anything for me nor should it.He needs to be just a bit more creative. Travis, I'm sorry that you are so not well-traveled and haven't ventured outside of N. Texas much in your life. You need to live a little like Dairy Queen said you poor thing.
