J.L. Turner Legal Association Vows to Keep an Eye on Media During JWP Investigation

As a former member of J.L. Turner, I don't understand why Mr. Blue is issuing a statement in this case.  There have been many other cases in the DFW area that this organization could have issued statements about, or otherwise gotten involved in, but did not.  I found membership in the organization next to worthless because of its apathy on legal issues affecting people of color, among other things.  It seemed over the years that J.L. Turner's only cause was to put on a scholarship gala (party), and nothing else.  J.L. Turner's leadership has stayed silent on many other issues.  So, for Mr. Blue to come out now on behalf of JWP is suspicious.

Why are Jim Schutze's ears burning?

since they feel so strongly about it, then they should drop some money or business card into that collection plate that went around a few weeks ago to aid Brotha' Price in his defense.

We are in a sad state of affairs in Dallas County,people make comments about what a Commissioner does or not do while in Office and evidently has no clue of job duties.I Want Commissioner Price to have a fair investigation  in fact all people should have fair process in criminal justice system.What are these groups asking people to do,give Price a pass on publicity when he built his career on media coverage? Everyone should relax and allow the process to work.

What the statement fails to say is what they're going to do about it if, in their obviously unbiased opinion, that some evil pressperson[1] crosses over their undefined and imaginary line.

I wonder if they will be as diligent about monitoring the media reports of JWP's indictment and conviction?

I seem to recall something about "freedom of the press". I guess Mr. Blue missed that class when he went to law school. Rock On! Dallas Observer! Let Mr. Blue and his cronies monitor the Morning News.

 John Wiley Price hired Caucasian Attorney's,initially. Did he retain these Moron's also?

The Black Preacher's and the Black Church's held a rally. Somebody set up a defense fund for JWP. Maybe Mr Blue's group is being paid out of the defense fund. Everybody wants a piece of the action. Shame,Shame,Shame.

You have to be kidding me....you must not live in his district.  Wow...who else in going to take up for this clown.  When he was telling white people to go to hell, and cursing out fellow commissioners, he should have been doing something positive for his district.  One day go to his office to ask me a question, you will see the real JWP.  Oh by the way, I am BLACK....give me a break, this guy is a joke.

Are they charging by the hour for this?

Since Price has not, in fact, "been a tireless advocate for the continued advancement of social justice and economic development for all citizens of Dallas County",   I can only conclude that Mr. Blue is a personal friend of Mr. Price and that his concern is less about journalistic integrity and more about protecting his bud.

That settles it ... why bother to vote ...

That's it Comrade Napoleon's name is really Eric Blue ... Eric Blue will decide for us as to what should be reported lest we make up our own minds ...

If there was anyone out there who thought we had a representative democracy think again, we have a representative oligarchy who are doing their best to keep us from making the wrong decision ... the only problem is that we don't elect them and they don't appear to represent anyone but themselves ...

If a black man is accused of wrongdoing, it MUST be because of the color of his skin.  Good thing there are groups organized solely on the basis of having a particular skin color to come to his defense!  Hooray for ignoring difficult concepts like right and wrong, and emphasizing easy-to-see things like pigmentation instead!  That's a super great way for society to advance!  It's always worked in the past!

Good to see that there's an impartial body watching the whole thing-now, I finally feel good abouit it.

WTF...You mean Jim Schutze didn't check with the African American Bar Association before he wrote the article about the JWP investigation. " Informed Speculation"?  Shame on you Jim.

There is a New Media Watch Dog on the Block. They're keeping an eye on the JWP investigation to insure he gets a fair investigation????? WTF 

Wow, gotta love the "Bar" is coming to JWPs defense in this case, sounds like another group of hustlers and thieves trying to protect one of their own from being held accountable. Im wondering if Royce West will be heading up his defense team?

This is nothing less than a threat to try to muzzle people and violate our 1st Amendment right. It will not work. His threat will not deter anyone from exercising their rights, sorry. Good try, though. 

Mr. Blue might be asked how he intends to "monitor the course of this investigation" without the help of aggressive media coverage.  J.L. Turner would be right in reminding citizens that JWP deserves a fair trial untainted by false reports in the media, but he does not deserve to have reporters restrained or the public kept in the dark.

Pesky thing, that old 1st Amendment, right Mr. Blue?

...and the FBI just got a new organization to investigate for sketchy ties to JWP's money.
