A Video Round-Up Starring That "Good-Lookin' Rascal" From Texas A&M, Rick Perry

RickPerryA&MFootball.JPG
The New York Times just posted one in a series of national-press pieces since Saturday questioning Rick Perry's role in the so-called Texas Miracle. Read it or don't; your call. But the photo with the story -- Perry watching himself play football for A&M courtesy Electronic Arts, which is expanding its Austin operations -- reminded me: Tied to EA's announcement last month, the governor's office sent out the video you'll see after the jump, in which EA put the gov into the game, literally, against the University of Texas, which, far as you know, had nothing to do with the SEC's decision not to invite the Aggies to play ball ... for now, anyway.

And while we're looking at videos about Rick Perry, you'll find two others after the jump: Bill Clinton today referring to the Texas governor as a "good-lookin' rascal" -- hey now. And: Perry's campaign ad, which prompted Gawker to refer to him as "conservatives' wet dream." Probably because he's such a good-lookin' rascal.

Wow, that's some mighty fine grade-A haterade you guys are serving up!

Nothing bonds a community of depressive malcontents like an Emmanual Goldstein to kick around.  Did you hear he's a Christian!  What a bozo!  And he speaks with a Texas drawl, too.  How despicable!  OOH, I bet Jon Stewart is going to rip him a new one...

Now that Bush is gone and it looks like Sarah-cuda isn't running it is very important that we pick one new conservative to focus all of our hate and bitterness and disappointment over what an incompetent loser we have in the White House (or more likely at any given moment, on the golf course)...

Shhh! No, let them select an idiot!! I weant Obama for 4 more years. I am not ready for a yee-hah from texas, a MILF from Alaska, a Stepford Wife from Minnesota.... Romney is actually the moderate. But don't choose him, we want to win!

This is exactly why politicians pander to right-wing Christians...it obviously works. Perry's horrible record speaks for itself, as scottindallas points out. Perry may say he's a Christian, but in reality he's not very good at it.

By the way, you do remember that your boy Bush took more vacations than any other president in history, don't you?

Your "Christian" likes his young aids more than his wife, according to her.  He borrowed money at a greater rate than the Federal gov't.  He's bankrupted this state, gutting the budget, beggaring the cities.  Perry ain't much of a conservative--he's wasteful, and has sold out his policies to the highest bidder.  Sorry your political affiliation had blinded you to facts, and the hypocrisy that Perry represents.  Goodness, Perry hasn't garnered a majority in Texas in either the Republican primary nor the general.  Deregulation moved us from the lowest electricity rates in the nation to among the highest--and environmental stewardship can't be blamed as the reason. Also, our insurance rates, health, home or auto are also among the highest in the nation. How can you accuse us of blind hate? I say you're delusional.

He was a cheerleader, not a player.  Or maybe a player as a cheerleader?

He was a YELL LEADER. Aggies do not have girls in short skirts twirling their butts in the air, to be caught by boys in sweaters.

MAY GOD SHOW RICK PERRY THE LIGHT

When and if, I choose to dip my head downIt won’t be because of the words of a clownOf a governor. Wrapped in the flag, TV’s rolling,"Is he running, is he not? See how he’s polling?"Then there are those of us Texans who are guessing,Is promoting Rick Perry a curse or a blessing?

So in my own way, and on my own day,I would like to bow down my head and to sayIn fact, a small missive, for Rick I did write(Kneeling is out tho’ - I’m an Agonyclite).Hoping the message will appeal universalAnd lead to some policies needing reversal.

"Dear Lord, it’s me again, you’ve always listened. Some others, I fear, feel that you’ve christenedA political son, one annointed by the voter,Selling out Texans like a slick carny promoter.(Not quite up to standards - he is only a man)I’m hoping you’ll help, as only you can."

"Your words, they’ve become somewhat misquoted.‘Do unto others,’ misinterpreted - you noted? And the fight over taxes, please remind us howMoney corrupts, and what’s important now.May illness and poverty forever stay at bayFor everyone, everywhere, regardless how you pray."

That is my wish, your choice may differThink it out well ‘cause God is no bluffer.I’m praying this Revival, on Saturday, in Houston,Will be a blessing, when all’s said and done. And tolerance will hit the attendees en masse,But expecting no miracles, I’ll take a "pass".

Hiccup, burp, fart. I feel better now.

Can you imagine the conservative outrage had Barack Obama or John Kerry said something like this? I'm sure the word "traitor" would be used.

http://www.salon.com/news/poli...Nothing like kicking off a campaign with a little crazy.

Perry is getting some awfully bad advice if he seriously thinks he can win a national presidential election by appealing primarily to the Crazies.
