There were no Fair Park Fourth-goers to be found in the Esplanade Fountain this year, not like last year
. All was calm and orderly as thousands marched into the Cotton Bowl, save those who didn't want to ditch their baby strollers
. And, yet again, the great Justin Terveen was on hand to capture the spectacle -- this year, from high atop the star-spangled tower near the Fair Park DART station
, from which he'd hoped to recreate, as best he could, this iconic shot of Fair Park taken during the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition
On the other side: a shot of the shooter. And no, Justin, that doesn't look scary at all.
