Hot or Not: Are You on Feds' JWP List?

Looks like at 11:18 this morning, John Wiley Price attorney Billy Ravkind, or someone in his office, faxed to Channel 5 the search warrant issued on June 24 by U.S. Magistrate Judge Paul Stickney. It's a seven-page catalog of everyone and everything with whom the county commissioner's done bidness since 2001 and spells out in great detail everything the feds wanted when they searched his home and office last week, including address books, bank records and photos of his birthday party fund-raisers and KwaanzaFests.

Says the doc, the government is combing through Price's electronic data for info "related to violations" of myriad sections of U.S. Code, including theft or bribery concerning programs receiving federal funds, tax evasion and money laundering.

Read it for yourself here. But here's the list of names mentioned in the warrant: Kathy Nealy, Willis Johnson, state Sen. Royce West, Millennium 2000 owner Karen Manning, tax attorney DeMetris Sampson, Jon Edmonds, Pettis Norman, Provident Realty president Leon Backes, Brenda Jackson, Regina Watts and W.O. Henry. Among the businesses named: Hillwood, Perot Systems, Walmart, HKS, American Airlines, Gold Metal Recyclers, Wai-Wize (which is Willis Johnson) and ... the SALT team. Sadly, no mention of Shoot-zie.

Tell the Feds, since they're combing county records anyway, to keep a sharp eye out for that missing $35mill... er $6mill....uh... $500k....well hell, tell 'em to look for any money that might have slipped between the cracks over at the Bond dept.

I won't be satisfied until JWP makes a public amends to Joe Bob Briggs The Drive In Movie Critic for demanding that the Times Herald fire JBB and run him outta town all the way to El Lay! What was done to tear down the largest truck stop of all time pales in comparison to what was done to the drive in movie bidness and to a leader in Texas culture, Mister Joseph Robert Briggs. May Gawd have mercy on JWP's soul and chitlins.

Royce better watch out! Senate Rule 4.10.Any member who shall receive or offer a bribe or who shall suffer his or her vote to be influenced by promise or preferment of reward shall on conviction be expelled. (Also see Section 36.02, Texas Penal Code.)(edited to correct duplication error)

At our weekly editorial meeting, Schutze and I were discussing how some of the best dot-connecting on the JWP story has taken place in the comments on Unfair Park. Our MANY thanks.

I hope the FBI has Karen Manning on a no-international-flights list, or they may be asking Brazil to send her to us, pretty-please with sugar on top.

It says in the warrant that the Feds wants pics of the attendees of KwaanzaFest's VIP reception. Wanna know why? It might have something to do with the sponsorship levels, http://bit.ly/n1RxO4, and who provided that money. Oh, lookie here. The sponsorship money was handled by Kathy Nealey.

The FBI office is Stemmons at NW Highway,  with the address of One Justice Way.

We'll have to take shifts during the day, park in the shade,  see how many of those show up with lawyers to discuss a plea to something real light in exchange for their testimony against bigger fish.

Shoot-zie must be on another subpoena -- something about telling at folks to get off his lawn while waving a shot gun.  Or was it accidentally kicking old ladies and puppies with his liberal knee-jerk reaction superpower.

And to think, posters on this very forum give poor Betty a hard time when they should be trying to understand what the hell she's talking about since she seems to be right all the time....

The days this first broke, Channel 5 was VERY specific regarding the Kwanza Fest.

Posted on their website "NBC DFW sponsored Kwanzafest the past two years but has not been involved in the group’s financing."   Heh.
