Good Christian Belles Lands On ABC's Schedule. But Not This Fall. It's a Midseason 2012 Show.

On the other side is the entirety of ABC-TV's fall schedule, sent by the network first thing this morning in advance of this afternoon's upfront announcement in New York. But, of course, there is that one show with local ties -- the one formerly known as Good Christian Bitches, till ABC execs decided to give exec producer Darren Star's adaptation of Kim Gatlin's book a more marketable moniker, Good Christian Belles. Here's the network's Official Show Description:

Kristen Chenoweth as Carlene Cockburn
The soap returns to Dallas in this wicked new drama that shows that you can go home again ... but only if you're ready to face the sins of your past.

Amanda Vaughn (Leslie Bibb), once the ultimate high school "mean girl," is forced to return home in disgrace after her marriage ends in scandal. Amanda is nothing like the girl she was 20 years ago, but as her old classmates reacquaint themselves with the new Amanda, will her home town welcome her with open arms or seek revenge? No one in this town is a saint, but that doesn't mean they can't have a heart. As Amanda and her teenage kids try to adjust to their new lives, the ladies from her past alternate between sympathy and scheming.
One thing, though: Most folks thought it would land on Sunday nights pronto, next to Desperate Housewives. Not so much: It's nowhere to be found on the fall schedule, as ABC is holding it back as a midseason 2012 replacement, along with the Ashley Judd series Missing and the Bruce Greenwood show The River.

And will it shoot here? Wouldn't hold my breath -- Good Christian Belles has a mighty big cast to bring to town for an extended period, especially with state production incentives so up in the air at the moment down in Austin. We may have some video later today. If so, I'll update this item. But, for now, jump. But mind Charlie's Angels.

Update at 3:36 p.m.: A minute from Good Christian Belles follows. Whatever.

I believe that this is a good show and although it is not going to be shown anytime soon, it is nice to know that there will be good shows coming soon.

Watered down title. Leslie Bibb looks like an Uptown girl, while Annie Potts looks Preston Hollow/older Highland Park-ish. Why would we want such stereotypes representing and shooting in Dallas, anyway, other than economy/jobs? Blech!

When they start shooting the show titled "Black Man, White Bitch", wake me.  Then I'm interested.

Dumb typo. That would be "shoot" with just one t.

Chenoweth told "Fox & Friends" (one of her favorite venues) on Monday that "GCB" will shoott in either L.A. or NYC, but definitely not Big D.

If it's not going to shoot here, I sort of have no interest in watching it... I hope it's good, but not really my kind of show. I was planning on watching just because of the North Texas ties. But Go Mavs!

It reminds me of the old joke punchline,  "That preacher has done quit preaching and gone to meddling.''

Bigtex, I will always remember you fondly, because of how BIG you were. Totally mean that!

Thanks, Ed. And as far as typos go, you coulda done worse.

I had heard two weeks back they weren't going to shoot here. Nobody would confirm. Till now.

Likewise, I only watched every episode of The Good Guys, Chase (one more episode to air!) and Lone Star because they were shot throughout Dallas. My way of supporting local TV production, I guess. Plus, it's always fun to see places you recognize appear in shows and see how the locations are used and depicted within the context of that show's universe.
