Before the Runoff, or Not, a Recap

Speaking of tomorrow's to-do list ...

It's true -- Sam Merten doesn't live here anymore. He up and split a couple of weeks back, all on his own. He can now be found wandering the countryside playing the role of George Armstrong Custer in Civil War re-enactments; he recently wrote from somewhere outside Crow Agency, Montana, insisting he's having the time of his life. But just before he skedaddled, Sam was invited by the YouPlusDallas crew to sit atop our former HQ on Commerce St. and opine about the four fellers vying to become Your Mayor, a sort of AV companion to his cover story on the subject some weeks back. Jump, but mind the facial hair.

Damn.......gonna miss Sam and Andrea.  I guess I'll search Twitter for them.

Good thing Sam decided to do the Civil War-era Custer instead of the Little Big Horn Custer. Those arrows can hurt.

Pleas tell us what Andrea Grimes is doing now. I enjoyed her reporting about the animals at the Dallas Animal Shelter among others.

Andrea is also on Twitter, and her feed is easily one of the best I follow.

Thanks WH. I will miss Sam and Andrea's contributions to the DO since they brought a lot of positive energy to the Metroplex publications scene and both remind me of my earlier days in Austin  and the independent writers community there ( which were good  memories).

Tried to email you, Robert, but it connected to a blogger from the past.

How about, for my weekend listening pleasure, a soundboard-quality boot of that '91 Reunion Arena Crazy Horse show from the Ragged Glory tour?   My WELD vinly is worn out......

Is that the one where Sonic Youth opened? I reviewed that for the Herald. I think it's where I picked up this tinnitus. I can't find any of those Neil boots -- not even the Bronco Bowl one, which comes and goes. Maybe Dime has it, but I try to find the ones easy for folks to find.

Anyway. About to post some Bob Wills. But I'll keep a lookin.

The Texas Giant roller coaster at Six Flags seems out of place for a Dallas video.  I really like the you + Dallas videos tho. I'm out of place too.

Cameron Crowe Sam > Gordon Bombay Sam > Eddie Vedder Sam.

What the hell?  Sam looks like he was rummaging through Eddie Vedder's closet circa 1992.
