As Part of National Police Week, Dallas Police Department Honored Its Fallen Today
|Photos by Danny Fulgencio|
Today, as part of the annual National Police Week established in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy, the DPD once again paid honor to its fallen officers with a procession from Griffin and Young to the police memorial at Young and Akard. Our Danny Fulgencio accompanied the procession and notes that, "As you might guess, today's memorial was a somber affair. Even the sky was heavy with gray." But, he writes, "just as the memorial ended, the sun burst through the clouds. True story."
We have a slide show from today's ceremony here. Also, several of Danny's photos follow.
