Jenkins on Dickey's Decision to Get Back to BBQ

Maurine Dickey's decided two terms as Dallas County Commissioner is plenty; can't really blame her. So it's back to the family business -- barbecue, but of course.  Which is why, moments ago, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins just sent to media this not-exactly-tear-stained adios in which he wishes the commish all the best in her future endeavors:
"I was informed by Commissioner Maurine Dickey today that she will not be seeking re-election. I respect her decision and honor and appreciate her years of service. I look forward to continuing to work with her on the court through 2012 and wish her the best as she enters a new chapter in her life."
Which reminds me: It's time to order my Honey Glazed Easter Ham.

Too bad, She is actually a very smart woman and knows how to run a business. Most of the other city council member's can hardly keep themselves out of jail.

She is not on the city council, she is on the county commissioner's court. But she's so crazy! I have been trying to help keep the Dickey's up the street in business but I did not realize I was buying  BBQ for work and family events from such a crazy republican. I will switch.

she lost me when she hired that friend of hers with no experience, degree, etc even though it required it to be some sort of railroad district director....good riddance..

Maybe she can makes Dickey's bbq good. They should try smoking it, damned stuff tastes like it was baked in an oven. So sad that good Q is so hard to find in Dallas--ain't no White folk making good bbq. Gotta cross the Trinity to find anything close to real Texas brisket.

Try Baby Back Shaq on Akard. It might just be the best stuff in town. And their beans are the absolute best in town!

Glad you liked it. I went Saturday for lunch. My wife and I split the Shaq Platter. The boudain needs a little work, but the rest was great.

Is it stinky, nasty smoky? Cause that's what I'm looking for. My wife and I make the best beans in town--I want to open a beanery. Navy beans, pintos, limas, reds, blacks, lentils. I try not to eat pork, so we save the dickel off our briskets to get that good smoky taste; not sure if it's kosher or halal, but it's pork free and you'd never know. Don't eat or make chili either, it's only carne guisada for me. Thanks for the tip, I'll give it a shot.

I knew it!

I knew that once we got an all Democrat court she would want out. She would hate not getting her way with all the votes.

Good bye. Don't let the screen door hit you.

Man, that is so not kosher.

That's OK. I eat it with a side of bacon.
