It's Official: Dallas Is A-List. So If You're Not in a Reality Series This Fall, What Gives?

gaycowboy.jpg
Bravo was first out of the box with its introduction of Most Eligible: Dallas, a reality series about the dating lives of Dallas's rich-n-pretty. Then came the Style Network, which last week introduced Big Rich Texas, a reality series from the same people responsible for Dallas Divas & Daughters. And though this one's been no surprise -- the Dallas Voice noted that producers were scouting for talent earlier this month -- MTV's gay-friendly spin-off Logo made it official this morning: It's expanding its A-List franchise to Dallas with 11 episodes of even more reality television beginning in the fall. From the press release, if you can stand it:
Logo says "Yee-Haw!" to Dallas with the expansion of its hit docu-reality A-List franchise from the producers of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Deep in the heart of Texas, this cast of socialite scene-making men and women are out to prove their New York counterparts have not cornered the market on having big dreams and bigger dramas. Dallas has recently surged onto the pop culture radar as a focal point for food, fashion and fabulous, earning it a spot worthy of exploring with this top-tier cast of natives.

This show is just crap. It is the worst of Dallitude. Kids who live off Daddy and act like they did it all. Just boring and bland. Dallas is better than this.

GLBT Dallas community is mad and I need your voice. Logo TV has chosen to not even address the discriminatory remarks regarding HIV/AIDS made by one of their A-List Dallas cast members.Facebook "Boycott A-List Dallas."See letter http://www.dallasvoice.com/fee... Help us in ceasing production of the show, educate people that this behavior should not happen anywhere.

but wait...the bridge isn't done yet....they must wait for the bridge!!! Then it'll rightly be "pop culture radar as a focal point for food, fashion and fabulous bridges!!"

The flip side is that our Dallas women behave so badly, we're starting to ask for it. I was out Friday, and I heard this guy say that he's lived all over the world, and "never got as much tail as he had living in Dallas". I told him, even though that was TRUE, both ways, that it was SUPER RUDE to say stuff like that. My friend went on like she was used to that, and she was totally happy to be part of his "tail count". Really? REALLY?

Slow down on the drinks and start thinking about what you are hearing. Have some class to not reveal your "number" on the first "date-ish". Maybe I'm just getting too old for this place. Or too wise to the tricks? I'm confused.

Big Brother auditions were during the drunk crawl for cancer on Saturday at Frankie's as well.

Im starting to believe that perception really is reality when it comes to Dallas. maybe we all are just a bunch of money hungry man-tail chasing douches. I mean, thats the story these reality shows are telling. (thanks, ScottsMerkin--had to borrow, but wanted to give you credit)

How are they going to find any "A-List" folks in Frisco?

I can guarantee that there are quite a few within the gay community that are not supportive of this and understand that these 'A-listers' are not truly representative of the community. Or even true 'A-gays' for that fact.

Just like any of the 'Real Housewives of ________' are not truly representative of their respective communities.

But people gotta have their fun, I suppose.

I love the term "A-List"...makes me wonder "a list" of what exactly? LOL

Life has enough drama by itself. Why in the hell anybody watches this stuff is beyond me.

This is just the right type of City that would think this is cool...I mean we have enough Douchers to think this is cool.

More reality shows? Sweet. You know, because people in this city aren't image-conscious and dumb enough as it is. I expect more from the city that spawned Cheaters.

Now, if they had a reality show about fixing potholes, that might be an idea worth pursuing. Not that I'd watch, but at least I wouldn't complain about it.

Its annoying when I'm trying to eat dinner, and there are huge lights and PA's and camera guys getting angles of 'reality stars'

I can't believe they never made a Real Housewives of Dallas, especially because Gretchen from RHOC is from here and they shot an episode at The Stoneleigh. Dallas as a reality series backdrop is way more exciting than DC (which Bravo thankfully canceled), as we'll soon find out with all these reality shows.
