Downtown Dallas Was Happening! In 1898.

• That City Hall was demolished for the Adolphus Hotel. Even back then the City bent over backwards for the business community.

• Who much did the city charge for the parade permit? Got to make those revenues you know.

• One of you experts check me - is that a hearse at center bottom of the left picture? "Sorry, buddy, you don't get buried until the Shriners clear out."

• How many of those guys ended up in FrogTown after the parade?

• The old Dallas City Hall (all decorate in the right photo) was a very interesting looking building; that much be the site of today's AT&T Plaza.

• Fair enough, but I barely ever wait for the days end before I start my rush for a drink!

• It seems as if the amount of space available for parking is the same back then as it is now.
