Coming in July to the Style Network, Another Reality Show About Dallas's "Social Scene"

For those who missed Dallas Divas & Daughters, you're so in luck ...
Two weeks ago, Bravo announced that among its new slate of shows is one titled Most Eligible: Dallas, which promises a peek at the dating lives of Dallas's beautiful people ... or something. You let me know how that works out. Now comes this, from the Style Network: Big Rich Texas, which, per Deadline's Nellie Andreeva, "explores the ultra-exclusive world at the top of the Dallas social scene." Oy vey.

Turns out, this is the very same "Untitled Reality Series" about which we wrote last month. Back then, Dallas Film Commission head Janis Burklund didn't know too much about the series -- except, maybe, that it was from the same folks who brought us Dallas Divas & Daughters. Which Big Rich Texas is. From Broadcasting & Cable's item this morning:
[Big Rich Texas is] a 10-episode docu-series about five wealthy mothers and their daughters at an elite country club in Dallas. "In addition to the one-of-a-kind personalities and 24/7 drama, what separates this series from the bunch is the unique focus on the mother-daughter relationships that fuel their lives," said Salaam Coleman Smith, president, The Style Network.
Burklund tells Unfair Park this morning that reality shows don't have the economic impact that, say, a Good Guys or a Good Christian Bitches do. That's because "they don't hire a lot of local crews, and they're not forthcoming about how much they're spending. ... They're around, but they don't really land." Which is why, she says, she's spending most of her time dealing with ABC and TNT, which begins shooting Dallas here on April 27.

"I'm more focused on keeping those two series here if they get picked up," she tells Unfair Park. "Much more focused on that. And we're still talking to one of the other studios about another show, because as pilots get picked up, it doesn't mean they'll shoot where they started. But I think we have a good shot with Dallas and GCB."

Dallas? I figured Austin would have nailed it first! After all, it is the State Capitol! lol Let's drive tourism people! Not make them think we're all mean or dumb twits!

How dare these women say they are the Big Rich Texas. They are in the words of Toby Keith "White Trash with Money" Help me out but was there 1 conversation in tonight's episode that did not SHOUT the "C" word, elude to plastic surgery, show underage drinking, foul language, inappropriate dress/attire? As a proud Dallas Lady I would like you all to know the actions you saw tonight would not be tolerated in Dallas this was only for Style Network. I will be boycotting the show this episode forward. How dare Style Network try to paint Dallas Ladies in such a manor.

The new show "Big Rich Texas" is such a joke. First of all the Woodheaven Country Club is in Ft. Worth and NOT Dallas. There are plenty of Country Clubs in Dallas and I hope that the reason that the show is not featuring one of them is because Dallas clubs refused to be seen in such a foolish manor. Anyone watching this show and are not from Dallas...please know that we are all not a bunch of stupid airheads as are represented on this show. Totally silly!!

This is the kind of show that my dreams are made of b/c It validates my website and all of the posts about douchy men (and my new section on women). I hope there's some actual dating ones that aren't too edited down (like with fairy sprinkles--"He was my perfect man...").

I'm thinking of a reality show titled "Dallas Next Top Douchebag". Plenty of talent to pull from in the area.

God love Janis Burkland.

This show sounds like a bunch of crap. More like a bunch of crap of what some tweeny twit Hollywood "producer" thinks of Dallas. And WHY people would watch this is beyond understanding. Thanks, MattL1, thanks a fucking lot.

I was joking, but I'm glad to see you feel so strongly about this issue.

For the record, there is literally nothing I wouldn't rather do than watch this show.
