Once More, Scott Sams Shown the Door

Scott was/is self-righteous, arrogant and simply learned the hard way that nobody is indispensable.  He got his pompous wings clipped.  Maybe he learned his lesson.  I hope he invested in lots of real-estate when he was making the big bucks, 'cause times have changed and he ain't a good looking kid anymore.

Management is putting to much on the the ladies.  Even their raptore is suffering with too little time to interact.  Just reading copy now.

Moving onto Channel eight.  At least they speak to each other.

I really like Scott Sams and Lisa as a team.  They were funny and made the news interesting.  Now Lisa has lost all her zip and the weather lady too.  Cannel 11 will stay at the bottom of the ratings.

Where is Scott Sams now? I miss Scott and have not watched Ch 11 since they terminated him. I watch anything but 11 now that Scott is gone.

Get rid of the blonde over on Fox 4 and add Scott.  He and Tim should keep EVERYTHING interesting.  They are both witty.  I think they would be a great team.

in my opinion, CBS it having a face-lift.  I would watch the CBS morning news with Scott Sams and then the Early Show with Harry Smith, Maggie Rodriquez and Dave Price, now they all have new younger anchors.

I love me some Scott Sams!  I would follow him to another station.  Scott I hope you land somewhere else cause I miss seeing you every morning.  You and Ginger were the best.  I knew when that new lady took Gingers place it wasnt a good match.  She is way loud and out there.  Well Im sorry - get back to work and back in front of me in the mornings.   

What a shame to lose Scott He brightened my day and I actually got up early to watch him. I won't be rising early to watch 11 anymore I am now a channel 8 guy as is my entire family.

Scott Sams was the very reason I watched WFAA news. I excitedly switched to KTVT when I discovered he would deliver news report for that station. Scott Sams adds life to his delivery. Very bad move channel 11. CNN, CSP and/0r HLN news until Scott returns.

I will follow Scott Sams whever he goes, i like him as a news anchor. I will not be watching Channel 11 news again. 

Well. Had been wondering what happened to my fave news announcer, Scott Sams (Ch. 11) in the morning---seems they've decided to 'not renew his contract'! Are you KIDDING ME???? Do you really know what you're doing? I get up early JUST TO SEE SCOTT SAY SOMETHING! I even endure the boring Early Show to catch the tiny segments of local news with him in it. This is a STUPID MOVE. I hope Scott profits handsomely from this event because he deserves it and you guys deserve a swift kick in the b---s!

This makes me SOOOOO MADDDDDDDDD! I LOVE to have my Scott Sams fix in the mornings in between the LAME Early Show and now he's GONE!!!! What the ------????I'M NOT HAPPY CHANNEL 11 FOLKS!

I quit watching Channel 8 when Scott Sams left. I have now quit watching Channel 11. You made a very bad decision by not renewing his contract. You might want to check demographics. Who do you think is out there watching the news??? We are not interested in a bunch of silly giggling girls. Goodbye Channel 11!

I don't think Sam was the problem for channel 11, or Chris Flannagen for channel 8. The early morning ladies on both channels are cute just for a little while, but it gets tiring to hear the loud talk and giggling. Men seem to be more serious about their responsibilities and do not blast the rooms with girls both talking at the same time. Believe me, no one is hearing either one. I do not think that being serious, personable is a bad thing. It just seems to me, they care more. The girls may need to cut back on the coffee a little. I just got back from reading all the other comments. I am telling you folks, you need sensible men. I am not against women, since I am one, but so much silliness has taken me from 11 and now 8, so I am thinking 4 for now. I did not like the Jody Dean and Company either. They were silly and all talking at once also. Ya all need to do a better job at interviewing. Chris Flannagan does a great job, maybe the silly ladies will chase the new reporter out.

I could not figure out what happen to Scott Sams, especially since the guy that was on at 4:00pm was on in the morning. I really appreciated channel 11 when they brought Scott Sams aboard. I like his style and his jokes, but he didn't over due it. I read the blog about why he left channel 8. I know everyone has pressures on their job, but we really need to handle things better. I know we will never get all of the real story as to what happen in both incidents. I hope and pray the best for Mr. Sams. He will be sorely missed.

I was a camera/teleprompter operator back when it was Scott, Ginger, Teresa, and the pregnant weather girl. Scott was great and very approachable. They were all really nice actually. Jeff Jamison is a great guy and Gary Seith is cool too.

That is very sad he is the only reason I even watched that channel news . He will be dearly missed.

What I don't understand nor will I ever, when you have a wonderful newsperson like Scott Scams, you feel the need to not renew his contract, I know you say it is numbers, well let me tell you something, it was numbers before Scott got there. Even the national news thought they had to renew their crew in the morning, and it doesn't get much better than Harry Smith. I can promise you they might as well in probably not more than a year get ready to find a new job. Your viewing audience, just because they have new faces on channel doesn't mean they will stay there, in fact more than likely it made them angry as it did me and they will go to another channel.. I have always watched Scott when given the chance. I hope that he gets a number one contract from some media group that will beat CBS and he can say, there you go, you didn't know as much as you thought you did and you used me for an excuse. I can almost guess that one person who made this decision is not even from Texas.I don't even pause before I whiz by CBS. I am sorry that you did not keep Scott on. I have followed him from Station to staion and I enjoy listening to him in the mornings.

What is wrong with CBS and Channel 11. They have ruined the Morning News programs. Harry, Dave, and Maggie. The Morning news is dual and boring and the broadcasters are not Morning quality. I am still looking for a Morning news Station. With Scot Sams gone the Early News is awful. Even the Weather is not the same. Get real and stop listening to bad advise on who you want to listen to. all this changes have hurt CBS and Channel 11 Not helped.

What a bad move! I, too, changed to 11 only for Scott Sams....loved Ginger too. Now both are out of the morning and there is NO ONE to watch. The news gets so boring and redundant. At least Scott was fun to listen to....Scott we miss you and channel 11 will NOT be having me as a viewer.....

It is obvious that Ch 11 wasn't interested in our demographic....smart, interested in news, informed....they seem to be playing to a lesser demographic....here's hoping those people have money to make the advertisers happy....I won't be one of them. I switched to online news...Ch 8 boring, Ch 5 more boring...Ch 4 insipid...Ch 11 stupid.

I watched channel 11 because they had two local personalities I liked - Kristine Kahanek and Scott Sams. Now they're both gone and I'm searching for local news program again.

Channel 11 has made a big mistake by letting Scott Sam's go. His sense of humor helped get me off to work. That team was wonderful everything just clicked. You will no longer be watched in my home nor for my Residents.

I'm a little slow on the uptake, finally figured out my favorite morning guy was gone and not on vacation. I've been watching Scott Sams since he started on local Ch. 8 (what was that - 1979?) and I followed him to ch 11. Since he was "on vacation", I tried to keep watching Ch 11, but couldn't. Now I know the bad news. I figured he was a prima donna on ch.8, and they took him as long as they could - hell, they switched him back and forth all over the place for years. It seems he liked the morning news genre better than Good Morning Texas & evening anchor, or so I presumed. But sometimes you can only take a good thing too long and the bad overcomes the good. SO - Ch 8 gave him the boot and Ch 11 gave him a shot and I followed. I didn't care how much grief he gave ch.8, or ch. 11, I just like to watch him because he has common sense and on the occassion he gives a personal opinion, I was right there with him. It's too bad local stations just can't stand their ratings plight and stay with a team that works for them. It took a long time for Scott and Debbie to mesh on 8, and finally they seemed to click well enough. (Debbie seemed pretty smug after Scott got the boot from 8, then - SHE was gone.) You can't count on anything or anyone in that media market. Channel 11 had a good thing with Scott's team when he started, but the bosses weren't happy; the bosses have made everyone miserable with all the changes - which is the main reason I quit watching ch 8 - too many changes and too many bad choices of on-air personalities after Scott was gone. I'll wish the new guy well, but he won't stand a chance with Lisa, bless her heart - she seems to be a nice person, but she's an airhead and can't put two words together without stammering. And from what I've read here, Teresa has been "mean" to her. Oh, well, guess she's gone, too. Just like after Ch 8 brought on Alexa Conomos, what was it Scot called her - never mind. Teresa will be gone, too. Don't mess with the boss's favorite!Guess that's all, so long Scott. I don't suppose you'll be back in the DFW market now. It's been a great run listening to you over the years. I'll be trying to find another morning news channel to watch, but Ch 5 will never be it. Not since Jane McGarry (sp) said on the evening news that a "blue northerner" had blown in. Where is she from, anyway>Time to retire, Scott, I have and it's wonderful. More time to do all the things you ever wanted.

Scott and Robin White made a super team. They were upbeat and professional. what is wrong with Channel 11. They are not making the viewers happy. If it isn't borken, don'tmess with it.

Channel 11 needs to get Scott back and let those silly girls go. They actually giggle on the air. It is horrible. I like and enjoyed Scott. He is very pleasant and a gentleman.

Congratulations Scott. You don't have to sit with the brainless women early in the morning anymore. It just shows you that stupid Lisa and traffic contest winner who can'r read tween is all it takes to work at Channel 11. You lose Channel 11. I quit watching a long time ago because of your brainless women. You deserve them and you deserve to be low in the ratings. And that makes any comments Scott made "the truth" which is what reporters are supposed to report. Adios Channel 11.

I have moved to Channel 11 because of Sams. Now I will be looking for another station to watch early. I have not watched 8 for years because of the removal of Scott, now once again, I am looking. Your station is on my not to air list. Sincerely Ms. Layne

Like everyone else on these posts, I miss Scott Sams! I am tired of the "Lisa Pinero show". She was always taking over the news reports that Scott started. If that was how the program was going to be run, Scott is better off without them! Hope he can find another station that will appreciate him. Looks like channel 11 is losing all of their watchers - including me!

They should have show that Lori girl the door instead of him. She is AWFUL!!!!!!!! They can stay fourth cause I won't be watching them anymore.

OMG. NO!! Not Scott. Over the years, I quit watching the news as it was STUPID. SILLY, Heard the same story for four days. Scott was a professional in every way. I will not watch 11, can't say I will watch any of the others now. Went through all of them, Tim on channel 4 has ran off so many over the past 15 years. They don't do the news, it all joking and being unprofessional. DONE!!Scott, I wish you the VERY best and no matter where you go, you will make the ratings become great as you have done for Channel 11. Too bad, execs can't see what what a mistake they are making. I hope you can stay in Dallas and I find what station and I will make sure I will watch the REAL news again. So sorry that you left. It was great to have while we did.
