American Family Association Gives ABC's Good Christian Bitches An Early Publicity Push

We noted just last week that ABC has already changed the title of Sex and the City creator Darren Star's adaptation of Kim Gatlin's book Good Christian Bitches, about a divorced mother of two moving back to the Park Cities. Right now, the working title is GCB -- and that's likely to change, since it's as generic and non-descriptive as a bar code. But two weeks before pilot shooting's set to begin here, Donald and Tim Wildmon's American Family Association is demanding advertisers stay the ~~hell~~heck away from the series -- and that ABC and parent company Disney drop the show altogether.

There's a petition going; hard to say how many have signed so far. And this is from the accompanying release that went out yesterday:

It's a Christian-bashing version of ABC's current "Desperate Housewives." The show centers on a recently divorced mother of two who moves back to the affluent neighborhood where she grew up to find herself in the whirling midst of gossip, Botox and fraud.

Disney-owned ABC has no reservations about creating hate speech against Christians, but you can be sure they would never consider a show called "Good Muslim B-tches" or "Good Jewish B-tches."

With a title like "Good Christian B-tches," you can imagine what kind of show it will be. Even if they change the title, the content will still mock people of faith.

The AFA's call to action comes a few days after FOX News ran this piece about about religious and women's groups disdain for the title. Guess they probably aren't buying the hats and tote bags then.
