WFAA: "Radiant Heat" Causes Ice to Fall Off Cowboys Stadium, Injuring Five (One Critically)

Categories: News

Above is the breaking-news piece that just aired on WFAA-Channel 8, concerning those injuries out at Cowboys Stadium. Five people were hurt, and one is in critical condition; all were taken to JPS Hospital. A bird's-eye view of the stadium provides a good look at where and how the ice is melting -- right over the entrances to the stadium.

That person was massively unlucky... at the same time you'd think this could have been foreseen...

During the game an electrical fault will cause the roof to open and jam there, showering the field with slush.

As many things as I hate about Jerrah (his greed, his inability to field a winning team, etc.), I really kind of feel sorry for him after this awful news, not to mention those poor folks that were injured. I'm pretty certain that the cost of the lawsuits are going to astronomical.

Practice facility at Valley Ranch a few years ago comes to mind

Presumably, the headline tomorrow will be about a giant sinkhole opening up and swallowing the entire stadium.

I think it is time we do the obvious checks. 1) Did someone order some footballs for the game? 2) Referees. Did someone remember to invite them? 3) Did someone give JWP 15% of the tickets so it won't racist?

I'm beginning to wonder if this could possibly turn into more of a clusterf***.

On second though, "Astronomical" has a nice ring to it, especially Jerry's version. If anyone needs me, I'll be laying under the edge of that roof for the rest of the weekend.

Normal Person Astronomical, or Jerry Jones Astronomical?

I believe this qualifies as an "Act of God" by insurance law.

Oh man, be careful about the speculation -- so much snow on the ground, and by Saturday afternoon, the temperature will be high enough to turn it all into water...

I'm thinking this is a lot of food for thought for making a disaster movie. Maybe even the 'ole TV show 'Dallas' sidekicks could get back in the game, ha, ha! Sorry, sorry! We laugh and poke fun to keep from crying. We really just want everyone one to have a lot of football fun and to like us (DFW).

No peril is an "act of God" if it could have been prevented by reasonable foresight and care.
