Also, The Many Hairstyles of Bobbie Wygant

Bobbie Wygant's 2011 Coming Soon Film Reel from on Vimeo.

Our pal Erik Clapp, keeper of the Bobbie Wygant Archive, just sent this most watchable teaser featuring little look-sees at classic interviews he's in the process of restoring before posting to the site. Good Lord, that's an estimable roster of talent -- from the-good-stuff-era Woody Allen to Cheech and Chong back when they looked like they'd just taken a shower in bongwater. But where's the DVD?

My Voice Nation Help

My "Bobbi Wygant" memory is of her announcing the shooting of President John Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963. She was taking and suddenly she paused, looked to the side, resumed, then spoke again giving her audience the terrible news on that bright November day.

Bobbie was quite the babe! On the NBC morning show, they interviewed a couple of people who worked on The Illusionist and they showed a brief clip of Bobbie interviewing Jacques Tati in the early '70s, similar to the clip here. Very cool stuff!

I still fondly remember the kicker to Bobbie Wygant's TV review of the 1982 remake of "The Postman Always Rings Twice." She said, "'The Postman Always Rings Twice' failed to ring" [Pause, smile] "...MY bell."
